The skittering of tiny animal feet resounded through the alley, as a raccoon darted along, hopping from shadow to shadow, trying to stay hidden. Otaia was out to steal. An air of confidence surrounded her, as the kevic felt this would be a lucky day. The girl had woken up that morning with the intent of obtaining some Mizas. She hadn't been stealing much lately, and her cash supply was running low.

The raccoon continued darting along, searching through sunset quarter. She usually plucked money from pockets, but today the kelvic wanted to go for something different. Today, Otaia was going to sneak into someone's home.

An Empty House

Sunset Quarter was more than ideal for such a thing. The houses were, for the most part, run-down. Poorly maintained and falling apart, they would very much be easy to sneak in to, especially for something smaller, like a raccoon. This was the girl's thought process when she decided to go out as a raccoon.

The girl stopped in a small corner, where she doubted she'd be seen. From this point, she scanned the houses before her. They were in various states of dilapidation, but it took a moment for Otaia to find one that would suit her intention.

It wasn't anything special, excepting the hole on the side. This hole was roughly large enough for a raccoon to fit through. Remaining in the shadows, Otaia made an effort to get as near as possible to it, but waited until there was nobody crossing to dart across. As she rushed across, the raccoon cowered in the shadow next to the house, organizing her thoughts so as to plan her actions.

After a moment of thought, the Kelvic wriggled her way through the hole, but stayed in the corner of the room, taking a second to make sure nobody was home. The raccoon felt herself relax, her fear fading. At times, she would wonder if she should find a less terrifying career. But at the same time, this was all she really knew.
