Annabel was in a hurry. Why, you would ask. Well, while she wasn't late yet for work, she would, if not managing to get there in next few chims. Her legs moved swiftly through the crowd, avoiding bumping into people. She had no time to be stalled in any way, because even if her employer was quite understanding woman, Annabel had no desire to show herself badly so early in work.

It had been only 30 days, not more, when the girl started to work in Elegant Weave, one of Syliras best garment and cloth shop. It was thanks to this exact shop that the young girl in her early age without magic picked up also sewing. Though it would never come into Anna`s mind that one day she too will work in this fine establishment. When applying for job position, telling the truth, the girl waited for polite, but firm rejection. In that place Annabel was asked to have a interview with Navia Druva, the owner of the store and it ended in her getting the job.

She stepped on some poor souls foot, quickly apologized while running further, and attempted to take a short cut. If not because of being a native in this city the Erobern girl wouldn't manage getting through the cities usual flow of people, but years in here had given her some lessons. Few more crushed feet and bumped people before Anna finally reached the doors of the shop in which the girl was working. Few long breaths, a wide smile and the girl was in.

As always, the shop sent out a vibe of elegance and high class. Colorful clothing, pieces of expensive fabric and only the best of sewing utensils, they all were neatly stacked in their places, easily to be seen, but not meant to be touched. With her smile still on Anna made her greetings with few regular customers, people that simply knew her, relieved smiled at a college which was assisting a old lady and then was out in the back of the store. There she bumped with another quite young which was collecting bunch of dropped spools on the ground.
"Clarisa! No, let me help!" Annabel bent down to help the black haired girl. While the youngest of Eroberns looked older for her age the girl next to her seemed to be just a child. This girl then, with her red cheeks on almost paperwhite skin, smiled.
"Thanks Anna! You were almost late, weren't you? Your cheeks are red and your hair looks like they have gone through hurricane." She laughed, picking up the last spool and taking those Annabel had picked.
"Thanks! Now you should better be going! Mrs Navia was looking for you five chims ago." Anna quickly nodded, already hurrying in the direction of the orangery. The girls fingers were nimbly going through her hair, though annoying stiffness could be still felt from the time, when the black wolf had decided to try taking a piece of her for himself.

Mrs. Navia wasn't hard to spot in the orangery, as her shining persona radiated almost miles ahead of her. Well, maybe it was an over-exaggerated statement, but in such light Annabel had always seen this young owner of the Elegant Weaves. She was lady of high class and manners, with skills many had deemed more than worthy. She was master of her craft, a real beauty and just a lovely person. Mrs. Navia was instructing another young, when her head turned to face the tall red hair.
She smiled at Anna, spoke the last words with the other girl and slowly, with the grace in which she did everything, went to meet the young seamstress.

Like almost everyone in this city, Annabel's employer, as well, as most of her colleagues, was good piece shorter than her. Still, the confidence and power the lady let out made the young Erobern feel tiny, even puny, though she tried not to show it. The girl really hoped her boss didn't notice she was late.
"Good morning Anna! I was just looking for you." Navia smiled at the reimancer and gestured for her to follow.
"I hope you are feeling alright. How is the injury healing?" She looked to the bandage around her employees hand, probably remembering Annas awkward story about getting lost in the woods, climbing in a tree and falling in the coals of her own fire.
It all sounded really unlikely, but she just let it slide. At least this time.

"Good morning! Yes, how I can be of assistance?" Annabel felt relief wash over her, as it seemed that her being late wasn't noted from Mrs. Navia's side. What more,
it seemed this could turn out into quite an interesting day in the end. As the girl followed her boss, an awkward smiled formed on Anna's lips. She could remember that day as yesterday,
when she tried to bluff her way out about how the young seamstress acquired her injuries on her arm. Good thing Mrs. Navia was so nice to let it slide.
"Yes, I'm fine. The arm had healed quite nicely, if still it would be smarter to keep it bandaged for a day or two." Navia seemed pleased with her answer. "So...Ummm...Did you want something from me?"

Mrs. Navia approvingly nodded, while stopping at set of benches and sat down, "Yes. We recently got an order for 25 napkins for a wedding and while usually I would give this job to, maybe a bit more experienced girl, all of them are busy on more pressing orders. Such, I would like for you to do it. You have four days, enough I think, counting your injury, and material you can take from the stock. Any questions?" For a moment Anna forgot how to blink, but quickly she came back to her senses and made sure she understood everything. Pleased to hear her answer the owner of Elegant Weave got up from the bench to tend to her other responsibilities, while Anna just...Sat there with her thoughts.

Annabel sat there for some time, allowing the last bits and pieces of information to sink in. Since she had started to work here, the girl had done almost no sewing, mostly working with the customers at the front or running some smaller errands. It wasn't like the girl was complaining, no, she liked her job,
even if it wasn't exactly what Anna had expected. But now...But now the red head was given a chance to prove herself, even if it wasn't anything big. No, actually it was. Even in things as simple, as napkins it was easy to make mistakes. They needed to be done with utmost preciosity. The wounds on her arm suddenly started to hurt, making themselves to be noticed. Anna looked at her injured hand with stone hard dedication. She will do her best no matter what.

Mrs. Navia had given the instructions regarding the size and quantity of the napkins Annabel had to make. Also it was told what material to take. Basically everything was already given to her, she just had to put it together and make it look nice. Getting up from the seat, Anna let her hand go through the girls autumn red hair, before heading to gather what she needed for the job. In her head,
the young seamstress was already making a plan what to do and in what time, so she would meet the deadline. Her biggest weakness at this point would be, that she has a knack for not sewing straight.
It was countless times that the girl had went somewhere left or right with her seams, but it was always possible to hide these mistakes in the end. This time it wouldn't be possible, as the seams were the only real decoration for these napkins. Not even talking about the fact, that Annabels injured hand decided to start cramping at the best moment.

After putting her bag in the staff room, the young Erobern went to do the first and utmost important thing, cut the dammed fabric. She was quite pleased that it was linen. A practical, sturdy material,
easy to cut and practically it is great for table clothes, kitchen towels and napkins. Additionally,
they make great shirts and pants for the hot period of the year. The color she choose wasn't white,
but light sand brown. You could even think, that it is white at first glance. The napkins themselves needed to be 15x15, which meant, if she wanted the seams to look nice, the girl would need to add additional 2, making the piece of cloth for one to be 17x17. Anna laid the cloth in front of her on the desk, pulled out long wood ruler, just perfect for such job, and lightly marked each 17 cm with a coal pencil. Coal was one of the materials seamstresses used to put marks on the clothing, because, if you put them lightly they were easy to clean. In the same time, one wrong breeze and all of your marks will be for nothing.

Finished marking what the girl needed to cut where Annnabel frowned, not looking pleased with her work.
Something seemed terribly wrong with the pattern, but she just couldn't put her finger on what it was. It looked like it could be with the measurements, but no, the girl made sure to be precise. No matter,
she decided to re-measure them just in case and yes, in some places the girl had taken one, two or even three extra mm and while alone it didn't seem much, together it piled up and made the pattern look uneven. Anna bit her lip, clenched her fist, took a deep breath and just started anew, cursing herself time to time. After making sure they were all the same this time, the girl carefully cut them in pieces, cleaned the coal what didn't fade on its own and was ready for the actual work. Sewing.
