"So what are you doing out here on the docks?" Iris asked as they continued walking. Eden looked down at the ground at his feet. "Same as you," he said with a cocky grin, "out for a walk."
He looked up again onto the stretch of dock, out at the wooden boats anchored in the harbor. The sails on their masts being tied down by numerous sailors. Some were shouting orders to others, some were grumbling, some simply doing as they were told.
Off to the side, up a little ways from the docks, was a small cluster of trees. Eden gestured towards them, "want to go talk over there?" he asked her. |

"Want to go over there?" Eden asked her as he gestured to a small cluster of trees off in the distance. Iris looked over at them, they reminded her of the trees she saw in the wildlands, although, by this time of year, far more of the leaves had actually fallen off the trees, and were littering the ground. A big, brown, crunchy grave of leaves. "Alright," she said as she turned her body and started to head in that direction.
Anything, at this point, seemed better to her than walking along the docks. Although, she did have a fondness for water, she could not stand the smell of the fish, and wanted to be as far away from them as she could get. If that meant going over to those trees, she'd do it.

"Alright," Iris said. Eden turned and headed that way too. When he got there, he took refuge under a tall tree that had acorns scattered all around it, in addition to the brown, crunchy leaves.
He sat down, leaning against the tree, a few leaves crunching beneath his weight. He hoped Iris would sit down next to him, so they could talk, it may be a little awkward if one of them was sitting, the other standing. "So how has your stay in Zeltiva been, thus far?" he asked her, as he pulled his pack off his back and sat it beside him. |

"So how has your stay in Zeltiva been, thus far?" Eden asked her, as he pulled his pack off his back and sat it beside him.
Iris pulled her bag off her shoulder and placed it on the ground, before sitting beside it. All that stood in-between her and Eden was her backpack. The ground was cold, and a little wet, perhaps the remnants of the morning's dew, or even rain, Iris wasn't sure. Once she had sat down, Iris looked up at the sky, taking a moment to think. "My stay has been... interesting," she began, "I guess I've learned a few things and had a few adventures while I was here."
Iris placed her hands on the ground, and pushed against them, using them to force her off the ground so that she could move into a more comfortable position. When she was satisfied, she leaned back against the same tree as Eden and looked up at the clouds. They seemed fluffy, she thought.

"My stay has been... interesting," she began, "I guess I've learned a few things and had a few adventures while I was here," Eden nodded. He understood what she meant, he felt he had learned a lot in the city as well.
He watched as she shifted her weight before settling in again. He looked into her black eyes. So mysterious, deep, intense, alluring. DARK. They sharply contrasted her skin tone, her long blonde hair, it was startling. He tried not to have his mouth hang open in awe at her.
"You just passing through then?" he asked. |

"You just passing through?" Eden asked. Iris shrugged, "looks that way," she replied simply as she pulled a leaf that had fallen into her hair out of it. It crunched in her fingertips, and she rubbed her hair furiously trying to get it out. Her blonde hair splaying into her face, into her mouth. Grossssssss! she thought to herself, just as she remembered she was with company.
"Sorry," she began, "there was a leaf in my hair." Iris looked over at Eden, wondering what was running through his mind right now, what he was thinking about her. Whether it be good, bad, or something in-between.

Eden watched as a single leaf fell into the girl's hair, and she frantically tried to get it out. He openly laughed at the sight. Women, he thought, how amusing.
When she had successfully gotten the leaf out of her hair, Iris said, ""Sorry there was a leaf in my hair." Of course he already knew that.
The wind was picking up again, and he shivered a little, pulling his cloak a little closer around him. It was starting to feel cold to him to. He hated to admit it, but, he was not in the mood to stay outside. But he didn't want to show this momentary, or at least hopefully momentary, weakness to Iris. He wasn't sure exactly, as to why he cared so much, but he didn't want her to think him weak. |

Iris sat staring up at the clouds. She saw shapes- simple shapes, at times, flowers, triangles, the occasional face. It didn't seem like Eden was one for talking to her which made her a little sad. It was awkward to simply sit near someone and not say anything. But she didn't know how to break the ice either, so to speak. So she sat for awhile, looking up at the sky and twiddling her thumbs before turning to Eden and asking, "so what are you interested in doing? Did you come hear to learn something?"

"So what are you interested in doing? Did you come hear to learn something?" Iris asked Eden. "Hunting," he said instantly, as though it were instinctual, natural. "And, no, I didn't come here for any reason in particular," he said, not knowing if that were entirely true. He didn't know why he came to Zeltiva, or if there was something he wanted to learn there anymore. He was just there, and trying to make the best of it. "So why'd you come?" he asked, just as a deer came into view. It looked up and eyed Eden and Iris, and then bent down and started to graze. It looked tasty to him. |

"Hunting," Eden replied, "and, no, I didn't come here for any reason in particular." Iris nodded, this conversation was getting more and more stretched out, and more and more awkward as time wore on. What a horrid conversationalist, she was, she thought to herself.
Just then, a deer walked in front of them. It was grazing. The deer had a soft-looking coffee-with-milk color, and white speckles near it's rump. It's hooves were a dark black, and split down the middle. It's eyes seemed young, and innocent. Yet cautious and attentive. They were a chocolate brown color. The deer bore no antlers, it must be female, Iris thought. Iris thought about how graceful the creature looked, and how it seemed impossible that its wobbly legs support its body at the same time. She admired it greatly.
Iris looked over at Eden, and said, "isn't she cute?" |
