For as grand and spectacular as Syliras was with it's stone walls and busy markets, it lacked a certain kind subtlety. The noise and chaos of the bazaar was a testament to the success of the city's economy, sure, but the noise... the deafening noise. Joanna knew she would never get used to it. Even from the safety of her apartment, the warrior could hear the streets outside as they filled with mid-day shoppers and sellers. It was enough to make a person go crazy. She needed a reprieve, an escape from this madness. So it was to that end that Joanna started making regular trips to the forest to help clear her head.
She had grown fond of a spot overlooking the sea, just within a short walking distance of the city. Maybe it had something to do about how the sun passed through the canopy in the morning, or the sound of the waves crashing against the small cliffs. Either way, it felt serene. And it gave her a chance to relax in her Kelvic form, too. Being a human took a lot of work. She wondered how they managed to do it for so many years.
Today, Joanna had decided to make another trip to her spot. She couldn't bear to walk through the Bazaar, so instead she opted to take a smaller, quieter path up to the gates. And it was here that she was greeted by a stranger.
"Hello knight. How are you on this fine day?"
She blinked, confused at first, but then turned to meet the man face-to-face. Almost immediately she started to stare him down, a habit she had formed at a young age. To another equine, it meant that they were giving you their full attention. But for some reason, alot of people seemed to take this as an act of aggression. Regardless, Joanna returned the statement.
"I'm doing well today, thank you. But there's no need to be so formal. I am not a knight." She clarified, smiling faintly. It was always a bit humorous when she was mistaken for a guard. But, still, it did make her feel a bit motherly.
"I'm afraid I can't talk for long. I'm heading into the forest today." she said, plainly.
