Uona Appearance Race: Human, Inarta Caste: Avora (Just waiting for the official seal of approval from the Wind Reach STs.) Gender: Female Age: 26 Birthday: 32nd, spring, 489. Birthplace: Wind Reach Appearance: Uona stands at a solid 5-feet and has mid-back length, fiery red hair that she usually lets hang down her back, either loose, in some sort of braid, or, if she is working, just tied back out of the way. Her normally pale skin can often look a bit pink because of the heat produced by the ovens where she does her glasswork. She has dark green eyes and a pleasant, heart shaped face. She has something of an hourglass figure and usually wears a simple maroon colored bryda with a vinati of similar coloring. Character Concept Uona is usually friendly and kind hearted, but she often has trouble recognizing the subtleties of social interactions, making her a bit naive and oblivious at times. She also always tends to say what she honestly thinks about something, however these usually don't cause Uona a large problem in Wind Reach. She is often a lot more quiet and usually hangs to the background of a group discussion unless she feels she has something significant to add, but if it is One-on-one or if it's a topic she enjoys, she will become much more animated and involved. However, when interacting with someone who doesn't explicitly tell her what they feel or think about something, it is easy for someone to start thinking that Uona is uncaring and selfish. She frequently uses 'physical' expressions of her emotions, hugging someone if she likes the person or as an expression of gratitude, tapping the person with a 'punch' that doesn't have any real force behind it if the other has done something wrong, etc. She is quick to smile, but she is also very quick to anger if she feels insulted or if something has her stressed. It doesn't take a lot to make her lash out violently, although she has learned a bit more self control than she had as a child. She thoroughly enjoys her work with glass, but she also likes to experiment in other areas, more often than not attempting to create things that are really beyond her actual skill level. Character History Uona was born and raised within the city of Wind Reach. She grew up in the nursery, so she always assumed that her mother must have been a Dek. From an early age it was obvious that she wasn't as social as most of the other children her own age. However, because of how quiet Uona was, the other children frequently picked her out to tease, at least until she grew angry. She would never take insults from everyone, real or perceived, and used to respond with her fists or whatever she could get her hands on. While fights weren't uncommon among the children, Uona got into fights far more frequently than the others. Her rage and her inability to tell the difference between a tease and an insult caused her to become alienated from the other kids. It was bad enough that even the children who did reach out to try and become friends with Uona eventually made a misstep, those friendships never lasting long. She spent most of her time by herself, usually either reading books or experimentally working on random projects that caught her fancy. It also wasn't uncommon to find her sitting by a fire, just staring into the flames for long periods of time. She soon only really spent her time with the adults who worked in the nursery and the school, though she could sometimes be quite the handful. Sewing things were one of her more common flights of fancy, at least until she was introduced to glasswork. She did well in her classes, but didn't really stand out in anything until she was old enough to be assigned a bendi in the glass reverie. From the start, Uona was fascinated by the process of the work, and returned whenever she could. She was interested in a few other areas, but she always came back to the Reverie. She was frequently pestering the glassworkers with questions and could often get underfoot, and every once in a while had a bit of a tantrum, but she was usually well behaved and listened to everything that the artisans had to say or show. She was taken on as an apprentice at the age of thirteen by an Avora glassworker. As well as being Uona's teacher, the glassworker became something of a friend to her. If you were to ask Uona nowadays, she'd probably tell you that that Avora who took her on was probably the only reason that she learned to control her fiery temper to any degree, being as much a friend as a mentor. It was one of the first pieces she ever made, although at the time, she had actually been trying to make a crescent moon, but she wasn't able to get the shape right. That was when her teacher mentioned that it looked like a wave of water, and she went with that instead, and came out quite nicely. Housing Location: Wind Reach House: What does your home look like? She also has a chest for her belongings beside the bed. Hello Uona, beautiful character sheet! Only have a few issues that are stopping you from RPing right away. How did Uona learn Vani. Vani is the language of the Vantha, and as she has never left the city of Wind Reach how did she come about to learn the language? Can you make a brief but understandable explanation as to how in her history? Socialization is such an easy skill to gain XP in, are you sure you want to invest 5 point of your starting package to it? If you decide you want to just let me know when you PM me. Also, one note to take into consideration: Books are extremely rare and hard to get their hands on as is. Any books in Wind Reach would be in the library and under heavy watch due to the amount their worth.
