20th Winter 515 A.V.
Jasmine walked into the Guided Horse with a smile and waved seeing several of the other workers already there. She was happy to start her work day. Excitement was the biggest emotion the young woman felt. The Drykas was ready to hit some normalcy after all the craziness so far of winter. Though she highly doubted that it would stop there. The blond woman thought about all the craziness that had happened during the winter. It seemed like everything was going crazy, like the very war itself had not completely ended after all. Shaking her head with a soft smile Jasmine pushed the thoughts from her mind and walked into the office. She put down her bag down before grabbing the list for the day.
“It's a small list today,” Jasmine said surprised.
“Yes, most of the hunters are out at the moment,” the woman that hired the blond drykas said while looking at some papers.
Jasmine nods and put the list away going outside to get the first stallion of the day. She was amazed to see some of the mares and stallions standing away from him. Looking over Jasmine saw why, he appeared to be rather ornery. Knowing this would be a challenge Jasmine took a deep breath and walked over to the stallion with confidence. The stallion snorted watching the human approach him. Jasmine stuck her hand out to allow him to smell her scent. The stallion sniffed the human hand and snorted. Jasmine smiled and took the lead taking him under the tent to start working on checking on his hooves. She noticed that he was walking gingerly while coming in.
“I need to check his hooves they look cracked,” Jasmine said seeing the hooves and wincing some.
Jasmine tied up his lead to the post and went to get her clipped, file, and picker for the hooves. Walking over Jasmine picked the stallion's hoof up and began to remove the rocks and mud. Jasmine saw the hoof coming off of the sensitive bed.
“That's not good,” Jasmine said holding the pick handle in her teeth while gently testing how loose the nail was.
The stallion neighed and tried to pull his hoof out of her grip. Jasmine let his hoof go and went to talk the boss and let her know about the stallion. Jasmine poked her head inside and cleared her throat.
“Yes?” Kelna said looking to the blond in the door way.
“There is something you need to see Mrs Kelna. I know why the stallion has not wanted to be ridden. It's not rocks either,” Jasmine said as the woman looked to her both surprised and worried.
“Okay let's go have a look,” Kelna said nervous about the stallion's health.
“He seems to be in good health, but his hoof is literally coming apart at the seam so to speak,” Jasmine said looking at the woman.
“Coming apart?” Kelna said with a surprised tone.
Jasmine nodded and picked up the hoof showing her the space between the wall and sensitive inside. Kelna gently touched the hoof worried now.
