Cha

13th of summer 516 Av

Their is something to be said for the innocence of children, it's dangerous, and makes them foolhardy and stupidly brave. But it also makes them beautiful and compassionate and caring. Cha did not get along well with her peers in the her scarring along with her muteness were not a good combination with her already reclusive personality. But the little ones, the children of tender ages where they were really just getting the tools to explore the world, they were special old enough to walk talk think and get around but too young to know how to hate. Cha loved those little children begrudgingly.

It was still morning and Cha was still only coming to wake to the sounds of sunberth coming light when she felt little hands gripping hers. Trying to pull her out of bead. A whispered voice was saying,

"Cha... come play with us, Chaaaa.. get uuuup, it's morning time and you said you'd play with us."

Cha thought to herself that She'd never said anything, she never did, a sarcastic vein of thought that tended to flow through her n regard to her muteness. But at the same time Cha was well aware that she'd agreed to spend some time with the two... The two.. where was the other. Just as the thought made it's way through her head a small body landed on top of hers one of the little punks had jumped on her, and it was not to surprising for it to be the brother, the two little ones a brother and sister of the ages five and six had been in the orphanage a little longer than Cha but they'd grown attached to Cha since their meeting and to her chagrin she too had grown to care for them. Using one arm to restrain the boy and the other to pull in the girl grabbed them both and pulled them into a tight good morning hug, affectionate but hard enough to tell them it was unwise to wake a sleeping bear. Speeking into Cha's chest they informed her that she had agreed to play hide and go seek with them.

Frowning at the Cha sighed, she could say no but the pleading she'd have to deal with later was not worth an extra thirty minutes of sleep.

Grumbling mentally Cha hopped out of her bed a child holding on to either hand, knowing them they'd be heading towards the attic where there was all sorts of dust boxes and other sorts of things to hid in behind and under. Cha found the dust that lived in the attic offensive but suffered it for the little ones.

Once they were in the attack they looked at Cha and though she'd heard the rules they ran her through them again anyway. Close you eyes and cover your ears. then turn around and count to thirty.

Turning her back on the two Cha rubbed what remained of the sleep in her eyes from them and shook her head. She hadn't had to say a thing to the children and yet they talked to her and carried on conversations with her in them as if she had a voice. If playing them in the morning was enough to pay them back for the unconditional love they had for her. Then Cha decided it was an easy enough sacrifice to make.

Turning around and uncovering her eyes Cha Stomped a foot twice to tell them she was now on the prowl.

Turning around Cha looked back and forth in the attack and smiled in spite of herself, the two had made good work of vanishing from sight. That said this wasn't their first go around at this particular game. Cha new that the girl was not as quite as acrobatically inclined as her brother and would be the easier of the two to find assuming she hadn't gotten creative since their last go at this. Looking about Cha searched for any obvious signs of the two, disturbed dust was for once a boon rather than an irritant though even with that in mind it was difficult to see any signs of where the two could be hiding.

Walking slowly Cha crep though the attic the floorboards creaking below her feet. In an attempt to not give away her position to the two Cha lowered her stance and began to move at a crawling place looking about for any signs of the two, they'd certainly gotten better at hiding than the first time they had chosen to play this particular game. Looking Up Cha examined the low rafters before the ceiling, it didn't look to likely that either of them where up their so they must be hiding in or behind something on the floor.

Staying low Cha crept inch by inch through the attic looking for signs of either of the two, one thing they had going for them was their ability to hide in places that Cha couldn't squeeze herself into.

As Cha Krept through the shadows cast by the early morning sun coming through cracks in the walls and the one window in the attic a muffled sneeze sounded from the other side of the room. Between Cha and that room was a rather difficult barricade of old boxes and furniture that had accrued in the attic over the years. Clambering into a chair Cha began a lopsided climb through the junk. Hand over hand Cha pulled herself across her belly in between two crates to come out under a bedframe, wrinkling her nose at the dust Cha tried not to disturb to much of the stuff as she tried to silently wriggle through the debris and old cobwebs. Climbing wasn't something Cha had planned on doing in the attic but if that's what it took to keep up with the little ones than that was what she was going to do do avoid being shown up by the little rascals.

Popping out from the pile of furniture Cha found herself now on the far left side of the attic and if she wasn't mistaken none to far from the girl. Scooting forward on her belly slowly Cha approached what appeared to be an antiquated wardrobe. with one of it's doors slightly ajar. Slipping one of her hands into the wardrobe. Letting her arm snake along Cha found her target and locked a hand around a thin ankle. Hearing a giggling scream as a result Cha confirmed that she'd found the younger of the two.

Pulling her out of he wardrobe Cha yanked her out of the box before playfully gnawing on her ribs while tickling her until Cha felt she'd payed for picking such an inconvenient place to hide.

"Chahaha Staahaahahp iiiit." The little one complained in between bursts of laughter. It was her own fault and she knew that was the price of being found. Laughing silently, only evidenced by her shaking shoulders and smile Cha put the girl down Before again scanning the room. Now for the brother, he'd be a little harder to find, but she now had the girl at her disposal and she was terrible art keeping secrets.
