The Lilacwind Pavilion

Within the beautiful Amethyst tents, those seeking windmarks and piercings alike will find the Lilacwind Pavilion. It's draping canvas is beautifully decked out with intricate designs of bent thorns of gold and silver tribal symbols which seem to shimmer against the purple material. Upon entering, you are met with scrolls of previous windmarks, drawings of wildlife, and glass jars full of the colorful liquids used for the procedure. Looking around one will notice the chairs for the actual session as well as cushions circled around each area. The consultations often include not only the Drykas receiving his or her mark but friends and family of the person as well. One of the artists, Jarorra is known to have charcoal pencils and a clean scroll with her at every meeting. As the client describes the tattoo she will draw it out; once ready the woman will turn it around and present it to her client. As soon as the design is approved she will get the person situated and grab what colors are needed for the work. On rare occasions, the artists can be convinced to perform their services at a different location (this requires ST permission if one wishes to task an NPC outside of its business locale).

Tattooing Process :
This information is to be used in your writing. Windmarks are applied through primitive techniques and these are some of the more common tools that were used.

Comb: A small, single or multi toothed comb is used to puncture the sink and insert the pigment (ink) into the flesh. The teeth of the comb are used to bite into the skin and are usually made out of bone, metal, or shell from animals such as the turtle. Combs range in sizes and are able to produce clean, fine lines in small and large designs, including dotting.

Plate: Fashioned from the same materials as the comb (depending on the artist and the traditional methods in which they work), the plate holds the comb in place and joins it to the handle.

Handle: The handles are purposely designed for balanced weight and a comfortable grip as tattooing, especially windmark sessions, can take many hours to perform and complete. Combined, these three tools make up what is called a chisel.

There is a great deal of information available regarding the ancient methods of tattooing and piercing. Feel free to expand your knowledge on the subject as a means to bring more realism to your posts. Please remember to stick with the basic concept portrayed here as windmarks are vital to Drykas culture and some sense of uniformity is needed.

This does not bother her husband for she will often give affection to Injal as he works, finding his practice of etching a tattoo exciting.
