They sat in a dimly lit tavern, it was a strange sight to see someone as young as 14 in there, the man looked down at her and began to talk. "Alright then, I took you in after you ran away, so I'm going to teach you how to work for us, okay?" Roselina nodded and looked around, she knew she was going to have to do something illegal, but yet, she didn't seem to object to that fact.
The man began to speak again "Alright, first off, do you reckon you can hold a crowd well, kid?" Roselina smiled, "Yes." She was used to having to talk to people as her parents had owned a shop which she had worked in. He continued, "- and can you lie?" She nodded.
The man smirked. "Alright then, you see the crowd of people at the bar? Go over there and beg the barsmaid for food and drink. Convince her that you're starving and in need." He pushed her slightly towards them and seeing the apprehensive look on her face he smiled at her< "Will it make you feel better if I tell you that she's a bad person?"
She thought to herself for a moment and nodded, going over to the bar.
"M-miss?" She said quietly, a sad look on her face. "Do you have any food to spare?"
The woman looked down at her and smirked slightly, "And why should I give you food? Where are your parents?"
She hid a smile as an idea came to mind, she made herself look even sadder. "They died a few years ago, miss, I live on my own." She paused for a second looking down. "Please Miss, I don't think I have enough food to last me for the rest of the week, and I can't afford to buy anymore."
A sigh was heard from the barsmaid and a loaf of bread was given to her, "Alright, but don't come begging here again."
She took the bread with a smile. "Thank you Miss!" She ran off back to the man.
