They sat in a dimly lit tavern, it was a strange sight to see someone as young as 14 in there, the man looked down at her and began to talk. "Alright then, I took you in after you ran away, so I'm going to teach you how to work for us, okay?" Roselina nodded and looked around, she knew she was going to have to do something illegal, but yet, she didn't seem to object to that fact.

The man began to speak again "Alright, first off, do you reckon you can hold a crowd well, kid?" Roselina smiled, "Yes." She was used to having to talk to people as her parents had owned a shop which she had worked in. He continued, "- and can you lie?" She nodded.

The man smirked. "Alright then, you see the crowd of people at the bar? Go over there and beg the barsmaid for food and drink. Convince her that you're starving and in need." He pushed her slightly towards them and seeing the apprehensive look on her face he smiled at her< "Will it make you feel better if I tell you that she's a bad person?"

She thought to herself for a moment and nodded, going over to the bar.

"M-miss?" She said quietly, a sad look on her face. "Do you have any food to spare?"

The woman looked down at her and smirked slightly, "And why should I give you food? Where are your parents?"

She hid a smile as an idea came to mind, she made herself look even sadder. "They died a few years ago, miss, I live on my own." She paused for a second looking down. "Please Miss, I don't think I have enough food to last me for the rest of the week, and I can't afford to buy anymore."

A sigh was heard from the barsmaid and a loaf of bread was given to her, "Alright, but don't come begging here again."

She took the bread with a smile. "Thank you Miss!" She ran off back to the man.

A lesson in crime.

A few weeks later, she stood in the middle of a crowded market, examining the wares that were on sale. Her twin brother stood beside her, and nudged her, looking over at a stall. "That jewellery seems to be worth a lot, do you want it?"

"Yeah, but are you sure you can distract her while you take it?" Roselina spoke worriedly, glancing over at the woman who's market it was.

He smirked in reply "Of course, who can resist a sad child?" She stayed a few steps away, watching her brother walk over to the woman who was talking to a customer, and tugged on her sleeve. "Excuse me Miss?", He put on a sorrowful look, "I've lost my parents, can you help me find them?"

Her brother spoke, the words sounding rehearsed to Roselina, because she knew they had been, they had done this trick many times before. It was a good thing her brother looked much younger than he was, and she wondered how long they would be able to keep this up

The womans face, initially annoyed at being interrupted, softened after hearing that he had 'lost his parents', and she smiled at him. "O-okay, Can you describe them to me?"

She sneaked over, taking quiet steps, and making sure no attention was on her, and all was on her brother. Then delicately opened her bag and picked up the locket she had eyed, carefully picking it up and putting it into her bag.

She gestured to her brother that she was ready to leave and he smiled at the lady. "Oh its okay, I can see them!" Roseline turned and began to walk away, him following close behind with a grin.

It was then she realised, that she actually enjoyed that.

A lesson in crime.

She was stood in front of a lady just a bit taller than her, but a lot tougher than her. " Alright, kid. I'm going to teach you how to fight."

Roselina grinned, having grown out of her shell since she had been living with this group of misfits and criminals and was now up for most things, and she had begun to love the life-style that they lived.

The lady lifted her hand up " Okay, hit my hand, don't hold back.", Roselina did, but it wasn't very strong.

"Come on kid, you ain't that weak are you?" She hit again, and this continued until she had thrown a punch that satisfied her trainer. "You know what? That actually hurt, good job!"

The lady demonstrated how to block a blow to the face and then turned to her, "You try, i'll go easy on you, okay?" She began to throw a punch towards Roselina, and she lifted up her arm to block it. They did this a few times more before she showed Roseline how to dodge and how to kick.

They continued to practice for the rest of the day, and by the end, she was an alright fighter, and could beat her trainer.
