It took him a moment to speak and once again she wondered if she had done something wrong. She knew this was silly, he's usually the one to display affection, but her inner mixed feelings got the best of her. Until he spoke. She could tell he was at least half serious and felt bad, perhaps he wanted more affection from her? Oh she was so mixed up. What would she do.
"Unfocused? Why..."
She started to lie, but instead hung her head as they danced, her arm held up higher this time and lead in a step she didn't know. Maybe they danced this way in Syliras?
"I don't know. Is this really what you want? Are you just playing me for sex? Or do you want a ball and chain? I know you humans are monogamous but you should know Svefra take multiple lovers at one time. It's out of the ordinary, not necessarily shunned but... I don't know if I can settle down yet. I don't even know if you really just want me for sex or not. Plus, I just feel like we've moved very fast. Don't be gettin' me wrong. I think... I think I have feelings for you. But I can't help but hold a man at arms length until I'm sure of him."

She didn't dare mention her other lover. She knew this would simply drive him away. She didn't know what to expect. In any other instance she would have simply ignored him, doing what she was already doing and acting like she didn't hear him but she couldn't ignore him right now, they were a bit too intimate right now for her to have missed his question. She felt uncomfortable. As if she were baring her soul. What if he stepped away from her? What if this halted everything they already were? She knew he would feel some type of way, but she couldn't even guess at what he would say next. They had stopped dancing and simply faced each other. All of Linie's body language was on the defensive. Arms crossed, legs spread wide apart, face scrunched and red. She felt like running, she hated talking about... feelings. Feeling was something you do, not talk about. It was something you lived through, not pondered. You just... felt. It didn't occur to Linie that maybe talking about her feelings would assuage the situation.

Alex changed the speed of his lead letting her speak instead of focus on her feet. And the bomb she dropped on him wasn’t one he didn’t expect. Was he just playing her? And it became very clear to him with her words that she was worried if he just wanted her for her body. His hands left her form as he took a few steps back. But it wasn’t to get distance it was simply to let her know that he didn’t want her focusing on anything but what he was going to say. Even going so far as to motion to her to follow him to the balcony. Leaning over the edge he spoke with a resolution in his voice.

“To be completely honest, I won’t lie. You’re a beautiful young woman. But I’ve already held myself off once didn’t I?” he paused a moment contemplating his next sentence carefully. “I’m not like most humans. Knowing what I do, and what I stand against. I could possibly die at any time. And I’ve accepted this. And I know I can’t tie myself down. Much like you don’t want too. Admittedly we have moved very fast, so I’m willing to slow down.” He then took a moment to contemplate what she’d said about multiple lovers. “I… I wouldn’t ask you to change who you are. If it was your decision to take other men as you wanted, I wouldn’t stop you.” He contemplated how to explain his views. “If you tie down and tame a tiger, it loses the fire that makes it fierce and majestic. It becomes a shell of what it was.”

He turned his head to look towards her. “In truth. I enjoy my time with you for your company. Not your figure.” The twinkle of honesty in his eyes meaning more than he could actually say. His eyes then sweeping back out over the expanse of soft moonlight and endless broken mountains and waterfalls into a slowly flowing crystal blue lake. “I’m content to settle for your company.” In the trickle of the light the mask he wore chanced to that prismatic glow and the same sheen rolled off of the black jacket he wore. “You’ve heard my stance on this, and now the choice is yours.” And just like that soft shine, his words flowed without any clouding.

She followed him to the balconies edge, eyes looking at but missing completely the beautiful expanse of mountains, waterfalls, and the lake which laid out in front of her. Her features were set hard, a look of worry creasing her brow as she listened to his words. She waited until he was completely done to reply, not wanting to interrupt him. She saw that twinkle of honesty and was comforted by it, though it did little to soften her features. She took a few deep breaths, worry and anxiety tightening her chest. It was a better response than she would have hoped, even, honest. It wasn't hard to talk to him but it was hard talking about this. She still wanted to bolt. Maybe go eat again.
"So, you think I'm beautiful, but you want my company and not my body. You wouldn't stop me from taking another man?"
At this she considered telling him about Buckeye, but decided against it again. She would hold this from him as long as she could.
"I.... I don't know. I like you, but I don't know. Can we just enjoy each other's company and kiss every once and awhile. Like... Courtship. Hold hands, sneak a kiss in a romantic place..."
Her eyes not so secretly flickered to where they were, the beautiful landscape which laid out before them.
"But just... Talk and learn about each other. Then we can decide whether we're ready to settle down. Though, I don't want to stop going where we're going. A love affair in the dream world, seems rather harmless doesn't it? I mean, I wouldn't stop you from taking other lovers in the waking world... Does that constitute as cheating? Having a lover in Nysel's realm?"

She looked deep into his eyes for but a moment, finding only honesty there. He really was easy enough to get along with. She wondered why he didn't have a lover already but remembered him saying his work was dangerous, he couldn't afford to. She pondered this for a moment, perhaps he was content with just being her lover in the dream world. With anxiety she awaited his response, instead of looking at him she instead leaned heavily on the railing and watched as the water rushed out of the falls, forming a river and flowing into the lake.
"I wonder whose mind this is, if you're right, it's just from us missing each other."
Her voice here was strained, she still didn't fully understand her feelings for him nor did she feel better for talking about them.

Alex let his eyes swing out back over the expanse before him. His tone as he spoke had a quiet resignation and acceptance, but an undercurrent of contentment. “If that’s what you want then that’s what we’ll do.” He held a glance over the water, but her wording of her last question was something that he held on a moment.

“Let’s be honest. I don’t think you’ll ever tie yourself down. And I know for a fact I can’t afford too.” He spoke with a tone that wasn’t inviting a conversation about this but more questioning when he continued on. “But what do you mean “constitute cheating”? Do you already have somebody in the waking world?” He gave her a small glance and then looked back out over the waters. “And be honest. Because I’ve been nothing but with you.” His words almost like a dagger to the heart, he wanted a clear answer. And he’d already told her his stand point on this.

“And if this is a mix of our mind then let’s see just how far we can take this.” As he finished he took off his jacket again, and draped it over her shoulders. He then loosened his tie before climbing onto the balcony. Glancing down at the impossibly low drop, he shot her a look. A glance of both curiosity and mischief. “See ya ina sec.”

He pulled the mask off of his face and set it down next to her on the balcony before falling. He closed his eyes as he fell. Th air rushing past him and the sound of wind all that ran past his head. Moving at that speed it was hard to breath but he still enjoyed the sensation of the fall. Plummeting down further and faster with each passing tick. The water drew closer and closer before he hit it. He expected to meet it with force and power but instead it pressed and accepted him like the softest bed he’d ever touched, the water absorbing all of the force and speed and allowing him to splash into it lightly.

His form returning to the surface after a few seconds to float gently. He was comfortable. Despite the fact that there was no sun and nothing but the pale glow of moonlight the water was warm, and gentle like a soft blanket. Yet it was still water. And now he was soaked through and he didn’t give a damn. He called back up after a few seconds. “Jump down!” His voice as loud as he could make it and even then he wasn’t sure that his words would reach her from this distance.

"You're right. I probably won't ever be tyin' myself down. What do I mean constitute cheating..."
She acted like she was pondering over the thought, but really internally she was freaking out. Should she tell him? She opened her mouth to speak and shut it again.
"I just meant that I think it wouldn't count as cheating if we were together here, if," and she emphasized the if, "either of us had someone else it wouldn't really matter."
She didn't think she did a good job of dodging it, but she hoped her previous honesty would trick him into thinking she was still being honest. She didn't want to tell him, she knew this would just push him away. There was something with humans that just made them be monogamous. He made it seem like he would be okay with her having other lovers but something told her that it would kill him. He would feel like he wasn't good enough, and maybe he wasn't. Not for her, she was so used now to having multiple partners that he was right, it would simply lock up her inner tigress and make her miserable.

"You what...?"

She started as he took off his jacket and put it on her shoulders, jumping from the balcony to the water down far below. She gasped as he hit the water and wondered if he had woken up. After a couple of ticks though he bobbed back up to the water's surface and reappeared. From this height she couldn't quite make out what he said but took it as her cue to jump.
'That water must be freezing.'
He seemed to be fine, though she was a bit reluctant to jump. But she did anyway. Leaping over the side of the rail she began to plummet and had that weird sensation of falling in a dream. You know, that one where you step off of your porch and start falling through the sky, waking up before you hit the bottom. Finally though she did hit the water and instead of it being cold as she had suspected from above, it was warm. As if she was in a bath. She floated beside him, hair now out of its bun on top of her head and stringy from being wet.
"Now what?"
She asked him and though still a little hurt from before, from lying to him, she had a lightness to her voice.

If, the word stung like a dagger in the back. The emphasis on it was something that he didn’t fully accept. He wasn’t going to fully accept the whole situation. But for the time being he’d let her keep what she needed too. He said he was fine with it and that was the case in its entirety. Though as he plummeted. He lay in the water for a few seconds thinking about if she’d heard him or not. Apparently she did. If the scream was anything to go by.

The sudden impact in the water next to him sent a column of water cascading everywhere and with enough force to knock her hair out into that usual long style around her shoulders. The “now what” was something he didn’t expect. He ducked beneath the water as she landed but surprisingly he could still hear clearly. Letting her panic for a small moment he tricked her into thinking he’d landed further away from him. And then burst out of the water behind her wrapping his arms around her waist and waiting for that surprised turn before kissing her again.

His hands reaching around her waist and pulling her in. He held her there for a good couple of ticks before pulling away. And speaking with a soft whisper into her ear. “And now were in a private place away from all those prying eyes and as such perhaps we might be able to get away with a bit more.” A small motion from his hands motioned towards the buttons of her dress along her side. His eyes locking with her again. He was letting her know that if she wanted to hold onto her stance he was more than welcome too but he wanted to test where her true feelings lie and if she was just holding back for another reason.

She was confused when she hit the water. Was he gone? She floated for a moment before he came up behind behind her. She let out a small scream again, smaller than the one when she was falling, and turned around to face him. She was met by a kiss, long and full. Kissing him back, with just as much intensity he pulled away from her, speaking, and motioning to her buttons. She caught her meaning.
"Should we? I mean didn't we just talk about this?"
But she was wet and not just from the water. She wanted him. Was this right? She kissed him again, deeply, trying to decide. After just lying to him she had some reservations. She wasn't a liar by trade and hated to lie, finding generally honesty the best way to go about things. But in this instance she just knew, she knew he would be hurt by her Buckeye being in her life. Buckeye on the other hand, he would go about his business as usual. As he kissed him she could just picture it, the three of them living on her casinor. Buckeye not exactly hostile but not exactly friendly either. Alex, mildly allof but still rather awkward around him. It would eventually turn into a big pissing match. This is why her grandmother told her not mess around with humans. Of course, her grandmother would tell her having humans on your boat would make Laviku send his minions to capsize your boat, which as she got old knew not to be entirely true, but she could tell now there were a grain of salt to her words.

She pulled away from him.
"Do you be wantin' to?"
She ran her hand up from his inner thigh to his chest, smiling. There was a hint of uncertainty to her smile but it held true. She really liked him, his sullenness attracted her to him. The way he was always sure of himself. His sense of honor. She would sleep with him in this dream, if he really wanted to. But that would be that, it wouldn't become an all the time thing. As she said she wanted to court, to get to know each other and learn to love one another, not just fuck and have their whole relationship revolve around sex. Still she was sure now he was different. A small part of her, a part she didn't really want to listen to, told her he really would be okay with Buckeye.

He held her close in the water. His hands pulling the buttons from her dress off. His eyes held with hers “We did talk about this.” He said softly his voice rolling out this time like velvet. He moved his hand to peel her dress from her shoulders letting the water carry the weight of it down. “And I said I didn’t want you just for your body. But I want to see how you really feel.” He smiled lightly his fingers motioning to help the weight of her now water logged dress fall. Her arms tracing a line across him as he held his eyes onto hers.

He was making it very clear that he wasn’t watching her curves he was watching her eyes. His hands were doing everything else they needed too. Pulling her out of that overly large dress. As he did he let the thing sink. The sheer weight of it’s water logged form. Leaving her bare from the shoulders to her waist. His eyes still never leaving hers. His hands moving to brush her now soaked hair from her face. “I haven’t pulled away yet have I?” He was watching them studying them as his hands studied her form one smoothing over her back as he pulled her waist into his, holding her closer.

“I’ve no inclination of stepping away this time I’ve said what I wanted to say. And now you know that I want you, for who you are not what you are. I feel like I won’t hurt you.” His eyes again never leaving hers. Searching them for the moment he should stop. If she wanted him to stop, his fingers running from her upper back along her spine softly tracing a slow line on her skin. Letting the water trail down with him. He felt the water despite its warmth starting to grow a little colder around them.

His voice stirred something inside of her, his whisper as soft as silk. She sighed he started undoing buttons. She kissed him again before he spoke, soft lips meeting his in an embrace of happiness. They had literally just talked about taking it slow, but here she was; in his loving embrace.
"How I really feel?"
She asked in a dreamlike state as he pushed the dress down, it sinking down to the depths. She was treading water, but it was something she was used to being a Svefra. Now she was naked save her underwear, having been wearing no brazier. His eyes never left hers. She found that odd. She began undoing his buttons on his shirt and opening it up, finding his chest with her hands.

She then began to undo his buttons on his pants, opening it up and as well as she could she began to hike them down. She would glance up to his eyes from time to time, noticing he never broke his stare. Then moved away the hair from her face and he spoke.
"I haven't pulled away yet have I?"
She sighed and kissed him.
"No, you haven't."
He pulled her closer and she felt his manhood pressing up against her.
"You really feel something for me...."
It was said as a question, but one not needing and answer to. She knew. She had always known. Their inexplicable meeting was fate. They were meant to meet, Nysel had been watching them in their dreams and he chose them as a pair, knowing this would happen. She was sure of it.
"You're not going to hurt me."
'It be I who will hurt you.'
This statement she thought felt prophetic to her, but she pushed the thought away as quickly as it came. She wanted no bad feeling to distract her from what was happening now and let go of all the worries she had been feeling before, now truly in the moment.

She took his shirt off, leaving his pants to him all the while treading water. As he traced his hand up her back she felt herself shiver and press closer to him, ow looking fully into his eyes. She met his stare as best she could, remembering this, looking into each others eyes, was the first way they were ever intimate. She kissed him again, long and fully, running her hands to his groin and beginning to pull on what lie down there, wanting it to feel that rush that made it so stiff.
"I be so scared I'm going to wake up..."
She whispered into his neck where her face was buried now, still pulling on him.

As she pushed on him he pulled them back further and further and further until he heard the roar of the water behind him and then kept going. He kissed her deeper as she kissed him pulling her chest into his. The roar of the water behind them crashing down growing louder and then it hit them water then began to wash over them pressing down. And even the weight of that seemed to lessen as they pushed beneath it. Behind the veil of the water fall they smacked into the smooth stones behind it smaller boulders and larger spires.

“I told you I did almost fifty days ago.” His reverence to the painting he put up on the wall in his mind. His thumb slipping into the top of her undergarments pulling them down slowly as his other hand moved to slip his own clothes off messing about blind because he refused to break from her eyes. He wanted to see her. The one he loved. Finally peeling off what little lay on the pair of them he pressed his back into one of the rocks to steady himself as he held onto her his hands exploring what his eyes refused too.

The roar of the water now distant as everything but what was in front of him seemed to fall away fading into the background. She was what mattered most in this moment. Both of his hands then reached down to lift her by her ample rear and lift her higher above his waist. As she broke away from his eyes he didn’t look down. Instead opting to speak again into her ear. “I’m sure we’ve time. It’d be cruel to end this now.” He spoke with a softness again that rippled. He wasn’t attacking her body alone right now, he was laying down a path to her mind as well. After all that was what drew him in. And what he wanted to stay by him the most. Both of their clothing now lost to this powerful lake he simply let his hands explore.
