Summer 50, 517
Foreigner leaned back in his seat on the ferry. To the average observer he would have appeared relaxed or tired. Not really paying attention to anything. In reality though he was wide awake and alert. Bright eyed and bushy tailed if you will (he's a kelvic that turns into a fox so really he's always bushy tailed). The most alert part of him, however, was his ears. Sure he was looking with his eyes, but the ears were better at gathering secrets.
He had already found out many secrets. A man named Virgil was cheating on his wife, a woman named Sally was considering suicide. These weren't unusual secrets. They wouldn't fetch that high if a price. The wife of the man named Virgil probably wouldn't pay him more than 10 mizas, assuming she remembered to pay him, for the information. Perhaps his destination would prove more fruitful. He was headed to syka, a place rumored to be a sort of paradise. It was certainly out of the way enough to be one. Foreigner went back to listening. Perhaps he would hear at least one thing that would fetch a good price. After all it was a couple of chimes until the boat reached shore. He might as well make the most of it.
