A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

The World's Largest Floating Party

Night falls upon the peaceful lake town and those unaware are expecting the tranquility of the lake to settle in and allow the waves gentle lapping to lull them to sleep. This is not that night.

Out of seemingly nowhere, music fills the Noble district with an upbeat tune meant for dancing and revelry. Echos can be heard down in the Docks and swarms of musicians flock together and start belting away at shanties like Rhysol, himself, has just come down and asked for a little ditty. Every man worth his salt knows that no water-loving being can sing a shanty without a mug of ale in his hand so drinks are fetched and the volume increases as crowds begin to form. Following suit to the expanding sounds of merriment and indulgence, the unsung heroes of Ravok take to their thin vessels and languidly travel all around the city with their lanterns lit in various colors. The proprietors of the ravosalas have deployed a special treat this year as the Isur brothers Alleck and Ares created hundreds of alchemically treated glass panes which cast a multitude of hues when lit. Most of these fall under the basic colors like reds, greens, blues and yellows but there are others like purple, orange and silver which are occasionally seen.

More bands take to the streets though all are courteous enough to not play too close to one another. The silent transports ride up and down the canals casting their enhanced light against the water and buildings alike essentially painting the town. It’s not long before vendors start bringing out food to serve to the growing population of the citizens as all are welcome to take part in the festivities. The Merchant’s Ring even has a few large warehouses set aside where games are held. Many of these games are simple and innocent, meant for children-good spirited in nature. There are games of chance and fortune tucked here and there and in a few of the lonely back alleys, men and women put themselves to the test in more violent pursuits in hopes of landing a massive purse for their troubles.

The Black Sun are out in force with resplendent robes and singing hymns of praise to the almighty and compassionate Rhysol. Anywhere that a group is gathered to celebrate, there is at least one among them constantly toasting the Great Deceiver. The Ebonstryfe are about but it’s mostly the upper ranks posturing in their fine black plate and elegant weapons. The grunts are either deployed or in plain clothes systematically creating upheaval amidst the thriving jubilee. There are rampant rumors flying about that the Druvin are in attendance. Not all the best of friends, the locations where they can be found vary. Finally, the City Guard are everywhere but maintain a very sidelines approach to the night’s events and those of the next few days. Only violence really incurs their wrath but they are diligent just the same; breaking up shouting matches before they come to blows and offering compromises are just a few of the tactics employed.

The five families of Ravok are each hosting their own party in the Noble District. The bands are absolutely trying to outdo one another as are the family members and their guests. The City Guard are not patrolling here tonight. There are guard units placed outside of every manor and in boats along the outside of this area. Past experiences have made the militant arm of the Black Sun familiar with various deeds. Each house will be lined with the finest of everything from decorations to food. The families all host their own games but these are not the sort of things for children. ((If you are not a family member but wish to get into one of these elite parties, send me a PM explainnig your reason.))

PlayersThe party started on the last night of winter and rolled over into the entire first day of spring and winding down sometime late on the second.
