Rydic had finally worken up. It was a beautiful Sunday morning, well, afternoon at this point. He had tried and tried, but eventually the rays of light flaring through his window awakened the tired boy. He really had nothing to do today, and planned on doing exactly that. Nothing. His parents were home, and he supposed he could hang out with them for the day. He hadn't done this in awhile, because even though he was only eight years old, Rydic mainly provided for himself.

He stretched his arms, and stood up on one elbow. It was a very long and drawn out process of waking up. He sat there squinting his eyes and just thinking of random whatever's that passed through his mind. Finally, he got so sick of the taste in his mouth that he forced himself to get up and go take a swig of water.

When he got downstairs, his father was in the living room reading the daily news, and his mother was making sandwhiches for him and herself.

"Hey hun! It's been awhile, wouldn't you please stay and have a sandwhich?"

Rydic considered it for a moment, and nodded, it would be lovely to actually be made his food, and just have to worry about the silly things like how long until he'd get to eat. He let the smells draw in, the fresh cut turkey, and the smell of deli filled his nose. It was a wonderful smell that he normally couldn't savor.

"Thanks mom I really appreciate it!"

It took about three or four minutes, but eventually he could bite down into the bread and meat, and get some food in his stomach. If it wasn't delicious, then there wasn't a word for how good it felt and tasted in his mouth. For some reason it seemed as though it tasted twenty times better then when he made them.

While he was chewing and laughing with his parents about some jokes on how there lives were going, Rydic thought of what to do today. He thought maybe he'd go down to the local pub and just hang out, but decided against it, it probably wouldn't have ended well there anyway. He decided instead, on going to the Library. He wanted to do some more research on the magical art he was learning. He wasn't very good at it yet, but he could almost make it appear as though a card was disappearing into thin air! He thought maybe at the library there'd be a book on how to make him do it better.

When he finished his sandwhich, he head outside. His immediate reaction as soon as he stepped out the door was 'Man! It is hot! He had never been outside in such heat! Was there a heatflash or something? He didn't know. For a moment he considered not going to the library for it was such a long walk and he didn't know whether he could bare doing it. But he decided that he must, and continued to walk.

It took about fifteen minutes with all the breaks Rydic had to take, but he eventually got there. He stepped inside the doors, and was rewarded with immediate relief. The coolness in the building was like touching your face to ice after a cut. It felt amazing. He took a few minutes to soak in that he wasn't dieing of heat exaustion, and then went to work.

Searching through books to try to find something was rather boring. He wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to have to go through it. They had no system of tracking where the books were besides the 'magical' section. He sighed. There was nothing good in here anyway, it was all false, they didn't want to give out any real magical information, that could destroy the world! Rydic rolled his eyes, why would anyone use magic to harm people, that was stupid and fake. Noone would do that.

Ignorance was bliss in his case, because magic is one of the most deadly things in the world. Maybe if he had known this at this precise time, he would have saved himself alot of trouble.

Rydic was humming a tune, closing his eyes, when he bumped into a man, which sent him sprawling into the book case, knocking down several books, and sending the man flying forward and onto his knees. Rydic felt horrible, but then again, didn't know the man so didn't really care.

"Sorry dude. Didn't mean it."

Rydic mumbled under his breath, the man scoffed and continued on his way. Rydic hated the people at the library, they all thought they were so good cause they could read books all the time. It bugged him, not everyone in the world is super smart, and chances are, neither are you so stop acting. Oh well, there was nothing he could do. He started to pick up all of the books, when he saw a particular book that caught his eye.

The book had a picture of a man, that wasn't really a man at all. It was a man that was have bird, have pig, half wolf? Rydic wasn't sure, but the man was everything but the frame of a human. It was quite a picture. Rydic smiled at it, and looked at the title, wondering whether or not he'd be able to check it out. Turns out it was something even more interesting then what he'd come to look for, though the fact that it was in the library suprised him. The title read..
