Stormhold Dovecote Leg Band Colors White - Mura Orange - Zeltiva Black - Sunberth Red - Nyka Blue - Riverfall Green, Kenash Appearing suddenly on the first of Winter 519AV, this Stormhold Dovecote caused quite a stir. The tall, stone building appeared on the opposite edge of the roof from the Aviary, surrounded by a small patch of grass. The grass itself is nearly as mysterious as the Dovecote, and it's impossible to pull up and check what it's growing out of. With it came the entire population of carrier doves owned by the city, pulled straight out of their old home above the raptors. The previous Delivery Office had all but disappeared, any important documents and materials suddenly found filed away in chests next to the new Dovecote. The new building has a single door into it, and if one sees someone close the door, they often don't see them return for a long while. With the sudden change in location, Leandra found herself unable to keep non-Knights out. No matter the precautions taken, anyone was able to enter the Dovecote whenever they liked. Coupled with her sudden marking by Xyna, the Knight decided to construct a smaller office next to the Dovecote, equipped with the previous Delivery Office's functions. The Dovecote itself is public, and any attempts at locking the door or barring entry from the public are easily overcome by anyone who wishes to enter. The door of the Delivery Office is shut to all but Knights and other high ranking political members on official business, as well as anyone marked by Xyna. Inside is an extensive system of filing where all messages to the city are kept. Opposite of the door is a wall dominated floor to ceiling by individually locked cabinets, each categorized and alphabetically-organized for efficiency. Upstairs leads to the pigeon room, where homing pigeons rest and live between journeys to and from the castle. Great care is taken to ensure these birds imprint on this specific location, and extensive instructions are provided as to how they must be handled if given a message to deliver. Birds are labeled and segregated by colored leg bands to organize them into which city they are capable of flying to, and no more than one message of a couple lines is allowed per individual pigeon. Andre had always needed more help at the Aviary, and because of this Leandra decided to take over the Delivery Office and shoulder the more political aspects of their responsibilities. She has become skilled at handling the pigeons and keeps their housing clean for the visiting knights. All records on the main floor are organized thoroughly, and she runs a tight ship. Nothing seems to slip by her, and the young woman's sharp mind and efficiency have kept the office running smoothly for several years now, all while juggling the enormous responsibilities of knighthood as well.
