Race: Kelvic, Tskanna
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Birthday: Winter 44, 500
Birthplace: Taloba

Appearance:

Human Form: Puk is tall, broad of shouldered and chest, with a small cropping of tightly curled hair upon his head. His skin is the color of the richest Taloban soil, his eyes and hair to match. He doesn't often wear much in the way of clothing unless it is a special occasion. Typically he'll wear plant based fabrics native to Taloba, and typically only in their natural colors. He doesn't wear jewelry or other adornment.

Tskanna Form: 20 feet high at the shoulders, light grey skin, primary tusks are 6 feet long, weighs about eight tons. Covered in a moderate amount of scars for a Tskanna his age.

Character Concept

Puk is a quiet man, a result of his upbringing under the dominating gaze of a Myrian woman. He is quick to respond to orders from women, as well as defend them. He tends to avoid men, and if pressed, often tries to remove himself from their presence. He has received no formal education. He is typically a pacifist unless forced to defend others.

Character History

Puk was born to a Kelvic woman, Kuka of the Changing Moon, and a human man who was her captured slave from her time abroad, who Kuka ate after mating with him. When Puk was born and his Kelvic nature discovered, Kuka brought him to the Ivory Tusk clan while still a calf, so that he might socialize with other Tskanna.

This angered a Myrian woman known as Grau of the Changing Moon, who had longed harbored an intense jealousy of the Ivory Tusk clan's monopoly on the Tskanna population. And so, she planned and waited. While Kuka was out in the wilderness, teaching Puk the ways of survival, Grau ambushed and killed Kuka. Puk was still young, and Grau adopted him, claiming to have saved him from the evil Kuka.

Grau ruled over Puk with an iron fist. He was kept isolated from the Ivory Tusk clan, despite the protests of many of their members. She never let him be alone with anyone other than herself. She beat him regularly so that he would learn to obey her, and other females that were beneath her. She taught him that males were extremely lesser than and were to be avoided, for they are evil. She made him a beast of burden for her portion of the clan, and a personal guard for herself.

Despite all the abuse, Puk had an innate desire to bond with her, one that she continually refused as he entered into maturity at the age of 19. She kept resisting his desire to bond, hoping to build it up so his bond with her would be all the stronger when she finally allowed it.

In Summer of 520, Grau was out hunting, and had brought Puk along to carry back the kill. They came across a wild female Tskanna, one that was clearly pregnant. Grae decided to put Puk to work. She forced him to change into his Tskanna form and commanded him to attack the female. But at seeing her, in his native form, he felt deep within him it wasn't right. Grau continued to issue commands, striking him with her whip and spear.

Puk snapped and trampled Grau.

Puk raced back to Taloba, clearly afraid. Members of the clan went out and found Grau's body, and the multiple sets of Tskanna tracks. Members of Grau's immediate family claimed that Puk killed her and deserved to be killed himself. Other members of the clan argued that Puk failed to defend Grau and was no more than a simpleton and pack animal. One woman stepped forth, a member of the Ivory Tusk clan, suggesting that the mishandling of Puk led to this, regardless of what actually happened. Arguing lasted a long time, until it was eventually decided that Puk was to be cast out, for he was an outsider and had not yet proven himself.

Suddenly alone in the wild, scared, he began to wander. He was lost and hungry, fleeing from even the smallest of jungle creatures. That is, until, a woman riding upon a Tskanna found him, the same woman that had stood up for him. She smiled at him, led him to food and water. She knew she couldn't bring him back to Taloba without causing retribution both against him and herself. So she guided him toward Syka. She did not speak to him, for she did not wish for him to bond with her, so as to put her in the impossible decision of choosing him over her home.

When they arrived close to Syka, they made camp. And when Puk awoke the next day, he was alone again, with nothing but a necklace carved from wood in the shape of an elephant's face, a known symbol from the Ivory Tusk clan. Unbeknownst to Puk, this woman from the Ivory Tusk clan went into Syka, arranged for him to rent a home, and purchased various items for him from various people. However, she got the people to agree to make Puk earn each item she purchased from them. The method of earning it was left up to them, as she explained that he needed to learn to live on his own.

NPC Type: Stationary, restricted to Falyndar approved here
Name: Grau of the Changing Moon
DoB and DoD: Summer 43, 475 & Summer 85, 520
Race/Gender: Ghost/Myrian & Female
Skills: Materialization (10), Possession (30), Soulmist Projection (10)
History: Grau of the Changing Moon was a good soldier. She was devious and willing to kill to get whatever it is she wanted. She stole Puk when he was young and raised him as her own servant. She was a harsh and abusive owner, constantly beating and berating him in the name of making him stronger. She wished for him to become a great and powerful monster she could use to improve her standing in Taloba and in Myri's army.

Then she went too far one day, tasking Puk with attacking a Tskana female. He refused and trampled her instead. In death, Grau pleaded with Myri to allow her to return as a ghost to achieve her revenge on Puk, and after she succeeded, to allow Myri to have her soul once more. This was granted, though Grau was warned that failure would not be treated well.

So now Grau is back and looking for Puk.
