The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Situated on the eastern end of the Zintia Peak is the Towers’ Respite. This is the primary housing for students studying in the Towers and it is intended to become their second home. The Respite itself is a large compound, equipped with kitchens, common areas, baths, and workrooms. It provides all the necessities a student might need to work comfortably outside of a classroom setting.

The walls are the sleek pale stone of all buildings in Lhavit, with the ceiling of opalescent skyglass letting in natural light. Art from Tower Alumni decorate the halls as donations for the staff. The whole of the premises is bedecked in green, vegetation both climbing the walls and ornamenting the halls. The rooms are palatial, due to the combined donations of all three towers and for each tower, there is a separate wing for its students.

Rooms for the students are found in the three wings, each singular in its attributes and location; all students are allowed to decorate their rooms as they please, provided the changes are not permanent. The Dawn Wing is to the east, the Dusk to the west and the Twilight Wing to the north between the two. Each of the three floors has an individual staircase per wing, allowing students to move freely amongst their peers.

The Twilight Wing is decorated by pelts and hides, trophies of a primal nature for the morpher's convenience. Rooms in the Twilight Wing tend to include plush carpeting and bedding, with thick curtains and dark walls. Rooms include a black marble hearth, bed, table & chair, chest, and set of shelves; the furniture is made from dark, rich wood. The walls are often decorated with detailed paintings of animal anatomy. The quality of the furniture and bedding, as well as the decor, increases with the quality of the room.

The Dawn Wing is very often filled with light, utilizing skyglass windows, lanterns, and mirrors to allow as much light in as possible, maintaining brightness even through the night. Rooms in the Dawn Wing have numerous windows with thin curtains, and a few potted plants. Rooms include a white marble hearth, bed, table & chair, chest, and set of shelves; the furniture is made of pale wood with skyglass accents and handles. The quality of the furniture and bedding, as well as the decor, increases with the quality of the room.

The Dusk Wing is rich with the subtle hues of sunset, silken tapestries littering the walls in shades of rose, royal purple, and cream. Rooms in the Dusk Wing are dark yet colourful, painted in deep but rich shades, with a few candle sconces on the walls and bare floors. Rooms include a pink marble hearth, bed, table & chair, chest, and set of shelves; the furniture is made of a rich, cherry-red wood. The quality of the furniture and bedding, as well as the decor, increases with the quality of the room.

The communal gathering areas are small but comfortable spaces for the students to relax in the company of their fellows. Small chairs and tables are arranged in loose groupings around a central hearth. This area is generally used for unwinding after a days learning, or simply getting on with the quieter tasks of reading and writing. Each wing comes equipped with one as sort of a social venue.

Above the main entryway is a level devoted to classrooms. The tutors that remain in the Respite to help with the student's work are usually available throughout the night and day. They offer their help when needed and even host group lessons if there is enough confusion. The tutors are devoted to their students and while they do not easily replace a teacher's help, they do help with studies where they can.

In the main entryway is the front desk. This is the place where a student may inquire about boarding, pay their seasonal rent, or ask for work within the Respite.

Skills: Business - 52, Copying - 55, Gardening - 30, Leadership - 70, Negotiation - 35, Organization - 80, Rhetoric - 40, Tactics - 85, Writing - 60
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tahala is a relatively young woman to be working in such a place; but she proved herself to be very skilled in organization, forever keeping lists and tabs on anything and everything she could find in her family home. She is respected by both the teachers and students for her hard work in keeping the Respite running smoothly. Tahala is usually found at the front office, checking in new students or sorting through the ledgers. She is friendly, and will usually go out of her way to help someone with an inquiry, not matter how trivial it may seem. When not at the front desk, she can usually be found around the grounds tending to the various plants.

Remni Natai
ImageName: Remni Natai
Race: Human
Birthdate: 460 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Tutor at the Towers' Respite
Skills: Anthropology - 75, Glyphing - 60, History - 55, Papermaking - 40, Shielding - 70, Storytelling - 30, Teaching - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Remni is an older man, born and raised in Lhavit. Of all the people in the Tower, he is perhaps the simplest figure, the easiest to figure out. He values family and education, but is not afraid to party with students despite his age. Which, when it happens, can be fun, albeit a tad awkward when one shows up for study the next day. Although he never officially became a teacher, he has a passion for the history of his beloved city and the people within it and loves to preach to the Tower students about it.

Race: Human
Birthdate: 465 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit

Skills: Auristics - 70, Mathematics - 80, Meditation - 35, Observation - 40, Physics - 45, Projection - 60, Teaching - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Only a few years younger than Remni, Tofeii also grew up in Lhavit. Although unlike her husband, who was born and raised on the Zintia Peak, Tofeii grew up on the Sharai Peak. As a child, it was apparent her skill with plants was nothing like her skill with numbers and she eventually moved to teach at the Alluvion Academy. After marrying Remni, however, she also moved to teach at the Academy. Tofeii is a lover and collector of art, and particularly enjoys art from her students; she is most of the reason why the halls of the Respite are covered in so much art from past students.

Rent

Simple room (Small): 5 topaz kina/day
Simple room (Large): 8 topaz kina/day
Elegant room (Small): 1 kina/day
Elegant room (Large): 2 kina/day
Suite (Simple): 3 kina/day
Suite (Luxurious): 4 kina/day

Small rooms come with a single bed and house 1 person. Large rooms come with 2 single beds (or a double bed, upon request) and enough room to house 2 people. Suites come with 4 single beds (or 2 double beds, or a single king bed, upon request) and enough room to comfortably house 4 people. It is possible to split rent, but such arrangements must be discussed and confirmed with Tahala (and your ST).

A suite requires at least a full season of stay from all residents. All rooms have access to the baths and kitchens, but only elaborate rooms and above have access to the libraries and tutors.

It is possible for a PC to lower their rent cost by earning their keep; if a PC takes a job as a general worker at the Tower (cleaning, helping at the front desk, tending the plants, etc.) they will receive wages of 1 kina/day, but they will also be permitted to rent a small simple room for 2 topaz kina/day instead of the usual 5 topaz kina. This must be discussed with your ST beforehand.

OOC Info
The Towers' Respite houses students from all three of the Towers; the Dusk Tower, the Dawn Tower, and the Twilight Tower. That being said, it is not simple to become a student at any of the Towers; not just anyone can apply to be a student and be accepted.

Wealth and reputation are important factors when considering applying to be a student at one of the Towers. Tuition and rent do not come cheap, and the Towers have no interest in students who are just average citizens. One must have some level of importance or influence within the city to be accepted as a student.

Anyone who has influence or is known favourably among the Shinya, the Constellations, or the Towers themselves is more likely to be accepted as a student. Anyone with connections to Aysel, Talora, or Zintila herself that they can prove (usually by providing a recommendation) will be accepted immediately.

Due to how picky the Towers are with who they accept, it is rare to find those born outside of Lhavit studying at the Towers; it is usually people who were born and raised in Lhavit, and thus had more time to craft the necessary connections.

If you wish to attend any of the Towers as a student beginning immediately, your PC must have been raised in Lhavit, and have at least a minor connection as listed above in your history; contact your ST to discuss options for this. Otherwise, anyone may work towards obtaining the necessary connections in-game to become a student.
