Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Blythe sat atop her bed, the lavender-colored cotton sheets which lined it having been bunched up behind where she sat. Her older sister, Mist, sat across from her, leaning up against the head of the bead, supported only marginally by one of Blythe's pillows. Blythe's legs were folded beneath her, into a position similar to the lotus. In her lap, rested her shadowscapes tarot deck. "It has been so long since we delved into the cards together," Blythe whispered, her eyes shimmering with excitement as they settled upon her sibling. "I can't so much as begin to remember the last time Mist," she went on. As she spoke, she pulled the lid off the box of cards, and spilled them out into her left hand. She placed the box to her side, as she began to shuffle the cards. "So what brings you to me today Mist?" Blythe asked.

"I have a question to ask of the cards," came Mist's reply.

Blythe nodded. "But why not simply ask grandmother?" she asked. "For she is the one who taught all of us what we know. Surely that alone, means that she surpasses each of our skill, even when combined."

Mist shook her head. "She is far too busy to give her granddaughter a simple card reading right now." Blythe nodded, as she lay the cards face down on the bed, in the space that had gathered between each of their bodies.

"Ask a question of the cards, and then we should be able to determine how best to proceed," Blythe instructed.

Mist nodded. "I wish to ask the following: would it be wise to consider having another child?" Blythe looked at her sister, somewhat confused. Weren't the three children she had more than enough? Not only not, but who within all of Mura, was her sister considering for the use of creation; making the child?

Blythe nodded. "Perhaps then, sister, the relationship spread would prove most useful for it provides insight into the interaction between two people or entities. This insight, should allow us to determine whether or not you should have a child with whomever you have in mind." Blythe paused, "you do have someone in mind, don't you?" Mist nodded, causing Blythe to flash her a radiant smile. "I am most happy for you Mist," she whispered, before asking her to pick out seven cards, and then hand them to her. Mist nodded. "Just pass your left hand over the cards until one calls to you." The other Konti nodded once more, before pulling seven cards out of the pile, and handing them to Blythe.

Blythe took all of the cards from her sister, one by one, and placed them in a small pile, on her right knee. She then scooped up all the cards they would not be using, and placed them back in the box, before setting it aside. After that, she organized all the cards atop her knee into an "H," with three cards on each side, and one in the middle. Once all the cards were in place, Blythe flipped the first card over, the one on the top left. The card depicted a woman in a long, flowing green dress. She was standing on a ring of leaves, which framed the night sky and full moon. Her wavy black hair seemed to flutter in the wind, as a golden hat, in the shape of the crescent moon, kept it all from flying away. In her arms, she held a glowing, yellow-ish green orb. The card was upside down.

"This is the world card, in reverse. In this position, the card signifies your being incomplete, insecurity, fear of change, an inability to reach your goals, regret, and disappointment," Blythe explained. "The card in this position, is supposed to represent how you see yourself," she went on. "It suggests then, Mist, that you view yourself as an insecure, incomplete person. Perhaps this has to do with your never truly having settled down. Yes- you have three wonderful children, but the ones who helped you make them have not stuck around. Perhaps your insecurity lies in this- your fear that their lack of a father figure makes you a bad person, or a bad mother. That those men's inability to stick around means you weren't good enough for them, and can't be good enough for another." She paused for a moment. "Perhaps then, your fear of change is linked to this- your not wanting to draw someone into your children's lives after so much time has passed. A man, a father. Someone to provide them with a strong, masculine energy. Another sibling- a little sister, a brother. Something that may prove to throw off the current family dynamic." Blythe paused for a moment, to tuck a loose strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "You feel disappointed in yourself for so much as considering the possibility of starting over. Of wrecking a good thing..."

Once Blythe had finished her interpretation, she flipped over the next card, the one in the top left. The card that stared back at her and her sister was comprised of all bright, sunny colors. Hot colors. Red, oranges, and yellows, with a hint of brown. The card depicted a tree branch, which held a bird with large, orange and red feathers. The bird had a long neck, which was curled upwards, so that it faced the sunny sky that lingered above it. The bird seemed to scream as it burst into flame, the fire that licked its wings curling into the sky; the sun. "This card represents how you see your partner," Blythe explained. "You have drawn the death card, which is associated with a major transformation, of some sort. Breaking away from the past. A new beginning."

Blythe fell silent for several moments as she scrunched up her brow, considering how this card played into things. "It seems as though you feel your partner is changing. Perhaps that's a good thing. Perhaps that's a bad thing... maybe he is maturing more. Or reverting back to more childish ways. Perhaps he is taking on more responsibilities, perhaps he is not. It is difficult to say... but you definitely see a change in him."

With that, Blythe flipped over the next card, the one in the center left. It depicted a blonde-haired man riding atop a dark colored bird. He was soaring high in the sky, close to a blazing yellow sun. "This card represents how you feel about your partner," Blythe explained. "You have drawn the sun, which is associated with understanding, glory, achieving prominence, vitality, invigoration, health, assurance, and confidence." Blythe pause for a moment. "You feel as though you understand your partner. That he is gaining a high level of respect within your heart and mind, simply for who he is. Not necessarily what he looks like, and what his social standing within society at large is." There was a slight pause. "You seem to feel as though you can bask in his light, his glory. As though he makes you a more radiant being. He adds to your strength, and makes you a better person... you feel confident in your ability to bring him closer to you. To make children with him, that he will be a good father to them." Blythe smiled, her eyes sparkling, as she flipped over the next card, the one in the center right.

It depicted a man and a woman standing atop a bed of flowers. Their arms were wrapped around each other in a loving embrace, as they kissed passionately, the woman's purple dress flowing merrily in the breeze as two doves flew happily around them, carrying a golden crown which was laced upon a red ribbon. "This card represents what stand between you and your partner," Blythe explained. "You have drawn the lovers, which signifies balance, energy, flow, passion, melding of heart and mind, forming a union or marriage. Though it can be romantic in nature, it is not necessarily so. The lovers is also about determining values and struggling with choices..."

Blythe's voice trailed off. "Perhaps each of you fears that you will not balance each other, and are still struggling to find a way to do so... perhaps your love is more about lust, too. Than anything else. Or at least, perhaps one of you fears that may be the case."

With no further explanation, Blythe flipped over the next card, the one in the lower left. It depicted a figure cloaked in black carrying a lantern. He was standing atop a stone pillar, as he looked to the sun against the blue sky. "This card represents how your partner sees you," Blythe explained. "It is the hermit. It is a card which symbolizes your being introspective, seeking solitude and withdrawing from the world, and giving or receiving guidance." Blythe swallowed the clump of saliva that had gathered in her throat. "Your partner seems to believe you're withdrawing. Closing in on yourself. Cutting yourself off from him. Keeping yourself less open. Keeping secrets. He sees you as someone who fails to mention everything that is on their mind. Perhaps he feels as though you are merely studying yourself. So intent are you on your task, of self-discovery, that you have less and less time to devote to him." Blythe paused. "The last part of the card's meaning, makes it seem as though he believes you may be in need of another's guidance. Not necessarily his own, but guidance nonetheless... perhaps he also feels as though you should guide him. Perhaps your sudden change in character, your closing off, has left him confused. Perhaps he now wonders how you feel about him, and is looking to you for some sort of sign. A way to know for certain just how much you care for him."

OOCSome of the descriptions of card meanings were taken directly from the shadowscapes tarot page.

The next card Blythe turned over was the one in the lower right. It depicted a man dangling upside down, from a gnarled, old tree branch. "The hanged man is the card you have drawn to represent what your partner feels about you," Blythe continued. "It corresponds to letting go and surrendering to experience and emotional release. Accepting what is, and giving up control, reversing your view of the world and seeing things in a new light. Suspending action. Sacrifice." Blythe paused for a moment and licked her lips. Wetting them a little, before continuing, "it seems as though your partner feels as though he has surrendered. He is giving up control, and accepting who and what you are. He is accepting the changes he sees in you, the parts of you he both likes and dislikes... he is sacrificing a piece of himself to accept you. To love and be with you."

With that, Blythe flipped over the final card, the one in the middle. It revealed a gnarled, grumpy looking tree holding a wooden staff. "This card represents the present status, or challenge within your relationship," she said. "It is the hierophant, which is associated with ritual and cermony, pursuing knowledge and deeper meaning, the rigidity of a belief system. It seems as though your main challenge are your beliefs. Do you believe you should be together? To live, to love, to have children? If you do believe this your right, is it the people around you who disapprove? Who think you unright for each other, for one reason or another? Do they think that your love will not last? Your children will be sickly? That your are not a proper match, because of your age, or separate race?" she asked. To which, Mist answered nothing.

"It appears sister, that although me may be a good person for you to bear children with, it is not yet time for you to do so," Blythe went on. "There are simply too many obstacles within your relationship for each of you to overcome, together. First off, you need to fix how you view yourself, and let him into your life. He needs to know where you stand. He needs to support you through your hardship, and explain where he stands. If he will stay with you, or if he will go once the deed is done. If you both wish to be married... there is much to discuss. Much to figure out. Is this what you really want?" she asked.

Mist nodded.

"Discuss all of this and more with him, and you will know, in the end, if he is right," Blythe finished. "Work on yourself- how you feel, and your relationship should blossom."

"Thank you Blythe," Mist whispered. Blythe smiled. "Not a problem," she replied, as she scooped up the cards and placed them in their box, closing the lid securly.

Mist smiled. "I will talk to him," she said, as she leaned forward and gave her sister a hug, before getting up and continuing about her business.
