No one seemed to mind that in the middle of the crowd the Symenestra began drawing bloody glyphs on his palm and focusing his djed. Had a Syliran Knight been present, his blade would have been out of his sheath and at Voreasos' throat before the spiderling could have moved another muscle or uttered another word.
That Voreasos gave up the little girl easily was probably what more distracted the rest of the group, for she truly was terrified of him, and he didn't really threaten her in any way outwardly. When he invoked his djed, her aura gave off no physical injury, which was what he could see at his level. There was no sign of pain concentrating anywhere on the shimmer that surrounded her skin after the Symenestra invoked his personal magic. Instead the color was tinged with fear and loss... the color one associates with death or with people at a funeral. Someone had severely injured her mother, perhaps even killed her, and the child was acting like it was a symenestra by the way she DID NOT WANT Voreasos to hold her.
She instead went to Jeb who had no idea what to do with little ones, other than pat their heads. Serena would know what to do with her, for certain, but Serena was in town on business. And for all Alyxandyr Finn's gusto, there were no females around. None, other than one old groom that poked her head out of the barn, snorted, and resumed work figuring all the menfolk could handle it. Jeb, finally, spoke out as he continued to pat at the clinging child. "So which direction did they ride out? And how much are you charging to guide?" He asked, not considering for a moment this little task would be 'free'.
The Sungold settled as soon as Fallan had her lead, snorting worriedly and rolling her eyes at the spiderling. Someone used to horses would note instantly that as soon as the girl was safe, the mare turned her rear towards Voreasos and was well within kicking range. Her luminous eyes searched Fallans and she settled as he seemed to remain calm himself.
Ursus was smart to investigate. He alone, moreso than anyone else in the crowd was equipped (meaning his nose) to learn something that others didn't have the keen senses too. Voreasos smelled like Symenestra. It was obvious why. The Sungold smelled of Symenestra too - and human blood and sweat. The girl didn't smell like anything but the Sungold... and while Alyxandyr smelled like a lot of things which reminded Ursus of gambling halls, cheap women, a tinge of liquor - he also had a faint scent of Symenestra about himself.
Jeb, still holding onto the girl, shook his head. "We should alert the knights. I don't know what happened, but they will want to know and can help. I don't know how the Sungold got her through the gates alone in this shape without someone stopping the mare. But something is strange here." He commented, looking at the others for their opinions as well.
