63rd Day of Fall, 511 AV

Traveling for such a long time now, Keyta had finally found the city that she had originally grown up in. It felt like so long ago, and she had so much trouble trying to find her way back. The sounds of people trying to sell of things they have for gold and silver filling the streets with nothing but noise. Yet, Keyta's food was out, she had eaten the last amount the night before and that was an old peach that was mostly mush. Her stomach began to growl at her, so instinctively she quickly ran up to a merchant. This merchant sold dead animals like Blythe use to eat, something they called fish, but no fruits. The next merchant sold rocks of different colors on long golden chains, but no food at all. From merchant to merchant the little girl continued till finally, a man stood at a cart filled with baskets of several different fruits in them. Unlike other merchants, this one only sold the baskets full of the fruits rather than individual fruits. Keyta began to imagine how long this basket of food would last her and almost lost track of the man trying to get her attention.

"One basket, 50 gold pieces!" the yelled at Keyta over all of the other noises filling the street. '50 gold pieces?' Keyta thought to herself, 'He must mean this round things that I have, seems like everyone like them a lot.' With that the little girl pulled off her bag, reach in for her coin sack, and pulled out the three different colors of coins she had. She held them out to the man and shrugged trying to figure out which one he wanted. With a quick hand to the golden coin he blurted "This is the one I need, but I need 50 of them darling, if you ain't got it, you ain't getting it."

Keyta reached out and grabbed the man's hands and pulled them down to her eye level. She put them into a cup and placed her sack in his hands and pushed his hands away. 'If there aren't enough 'pieces' there, then I'll see if he wants something else out of my bag, she thought to herself watching the man as he looked into her purse. This man started pulling out one coin after another placing them into a jar on his cart and did this for some time muttering something under his breath. "There we go, 50 plus 6 silver for making me count these coins," he said as he handed the coin purse back. Keyta's face lit up with joy and excitement as she held out her arms awaiting the basket to be handed to her. Suddenly a huge basket, that she could only just barely feel her fingers touching each other, was handed to her and she had to take a couple of steps back to re-balance. "You got it?" the man asked as he watched the little dance occur. The small girl turned her body to make the basket point away from their faces and nodded with approval.

The kelvic carried the basket around a corner to get out of the noisy streets and inspect the fruits she had just collected. There were a couple of peaches, a few pears, a lot of apples, a few tomatoes, and an orange here and there. Quickly snatching the oranges and tossing them in her bag, she grabbed a couple of each of the other fruits and placed them into her bag as well. The basket was now a lot lighter and easier to carry around, yet still far too large for her hands to grab each other.

A few more hours passed as Keyta was now trying to remember how to find her home here in Ravok. Everything looked similar yet it looked so different from how she remembers. A couple of buildings stood out here and there as a very familiar structure, yet everything else around them was foreign. The sun began to set and the streets began to empty, the night was approaching and perhaps she could find her way home in her bat self.

The night sky fell upon the kelvic bat swiftly, the moon rose to light the street enough for even her to see them. A quickly glace in the alley-ways showed no one was around her for the moment, and with that, Keyta began stripping her clothes and placing them in her bag like normal. Keyta's necklace and hair-clip were the last of the pieces removed from her body and carefully place in her bag which was now put into the large basket up against a wall. Strategically placed in the shadow to minimize anyone's ability of locating her things, Keyta proudly changed into her bat self with a quick light surrounding her body then releasing. The little bat now flapped her wings and started to ascend into the sky, hoping to find something that she could remember to find her home that she grew up in. With little luck, she started flying west, looking straight down at the streets, sometimes even flying into the streets to attempt in getting a closer look at somethings.

A couple of hours passed with little luck to finding her home of birth, yet her heart pushed her to continue looking. She knew she was close, yet she never felt so far away from being with her parents again. Finding herself getting nowhere from flying around, she landed on a roof and switched back into her human form. Keyta laid on her back, facing the sky, and started looking into the stars, like she did so long ago. The stars seemed different, they all had seemed to have shifted from where she remembered the being, yet they were all still there. Looking for the star that use to be over her house, she hoped to attempt to measure the amount of space they had moved and maybe find her home, but she couldn't seem to put a mark on them.

Sighing from aggravation, Keyta stood back up and held her arms up perfectly horizontal. She then leaped from the roof and transformed yet again after flipping in the air. The bat started toward the sky and back in the direction she had left her basket. The moon was already beginning to kiss the horizon by the time she was reached her destination again. Exhaustion filled her body as she transformed for the last time that night. Her clothes slowly returned to her body and her eyes barely open during the process. By the time the last bit of her clothes had returned, Keyta leaned against the wall and rested her head on top of her basket and her eyes refused to open any longer. The tired kelvic fell asleep there in the alley of the dangerous streets of Ravok.

64th Day of Fall

Keyta woke up that next morning to the sounds of the merchants hollering over each other yet again. It was such an annoying sound to her, she could barely stand it, but at least it reminded her of her home here in Ravok. Keyta looked into her basket and pulled out one of the several apples and pierced her teeth into and began sucking on the juices within it. An incredibly sweet taste quickly filled her mouth and the kelvic began walking around the city once again.

After strolling the streets for the second day in a row, the small girl began to notice that there were almost no children running around like there use to be. Without much care in the situation, Keyta noticed a ladder leaning on a wall that was easily climbable. As carefully as she could, Keyta held the basket over her head and took one step at a time climbing the ladder to the top of the wall. When she could, Keyta laid the basket on the top of this wall and pulled herself up after it. With next to no effort, the girl pulled the basket over her head and balanced herself walking down the wall to get onto the next rooftop. Using the roofs to get away from the people on the streets and see better, the kelvic girl jumped and ran from rooftop to rooftop. Feeling like things were finally getting familiar, Keyta looked for the homes nearest her own.

Still gnawing on an apple in her mouth, Keyta stopped only for a moment to observe a place that she could swear she had been before, but couldn't put her hand on it. Trying her best to remember what this building was for, she took a moment longer and put the basket down and sat on the roof just staring at the building across the street from her. After about half an hour past, a woman and a little girl walked into the building together; only a few minutes after they walked in they came back out with new clothing. Keyta now knew exactly where she was, this is where her mother took her to get her clothes she is currently wearing. Easily remembering which direction her mother took her to take them both back home, Keyta finished gnawing on her apple, tossed it aside, and started hoping from rooftop to rooftop again.

Finally remembering the roads below as she hoped from building to building, Keyta's excitement began to overflow her body. It has been an extremely long time since the young girl has been able to see her parents, and even her aunt and cousins. Spotting the home just down the road, Keyta tossed her basket in front of her, leaped from the roof she was currently running on, flipped in the air, rolled on the ground with hardly a sound, and caught her basket before continuing to run forward. Her legs began to feel heavy along with her heart, which was thumping loudly from her chest, as she was almost within reach of the door. The basket of fruits that was over Keyta's head was laid on the ground as she came to a stop in front of the doorway and a large smile stretched across her face. The little girl reached out for the door-knob and turned it to push it forward and reveal the inside.

In the room there was her eating table and four chairs like before, but unlike most days she saw this room, her parents were nowhere to be seen. Not ready to give up, Keyta walked into the house and kept looking for them, perhaps they were in their room, or maybe in the bathing room. To her surprise, every room in this house was empty, and not a single trail of her parents were to be found. Thinking that her parents were possibly out shopping, Keyta pulled her basket inside and started to gnaw on another apple since there were so many of them.

Several hours passed, the daylight swiftly left the city, and the house grew darker by the moment. Keyta continued to sit in the chair she use to always sit in, and patiently awaited for their arrival. Outside of the house seemed quiet, feeling worried, the young daughter walked outside to see if she might be able to spot her parents walking home from somewhere. A chilling breeze flew by, but Keyta stood still, looking out as far as she could, and just as she was about to take up her seat again, something was moving out in the distance toward her. Keyta squinted her eyes as she looked out to see if she could recognize the two figures walking in her direction. Sure enough, the two figures were indeed her parents, and as Keyta figured this out for herself, tears flooded her eyes and she took off sprinting toward them.

The kelvic's small arms wrapped around both William and Marlia as her tears of joy soaked her parent's clothing. Marlia was utterly surprised and responded with a soft cry and softly repeating her daughter's name. William hugged his child as well and patted her on the head as he was the only who was not in tears yet still very happy to see his daughter again. The family was reunited again, and they had so much to try and catch up on. Marlia held her daughter's hand as well as William's and they walked back to their home.

"I can't believe that we get to see you again Keyta," Marlia stated as the reunited family continued to walk back to their home. William looked over at Marlia and smiled as he noticed her face was full of excitement. Keyta glanced up at her mother just as Marlia looked down at her daughter and the two of them smiled, then laughed, and giggled for a nice and long amount of time.

Once the family reached their home, William reached for the door with his free hand and pushed the door open. Marlia noticed the new basket first as Keyta rushed toward it to hold it up to her parents; offering them any of the many fruits it held. Keyta's mother happily picked one of the peaches while her father grabbed one of the many remaining apples. Satisfied, the little kelvic girl placed her basket back on the floor near the door and went to go sit in her chair. Marlia was more than excited to start preparing a dinner meal for her newly reunited family and rushed into the kitchen; William took his apple along with his belongings into his and his wife's room to set them down.

William came back into the room with a few papers with him and walked into the kitchen and began talking with his wife about something that Keyta couldn't quite hear. It didn't seem to be an argument, but it was certainly something that Marlia didn't want to talk about right at that moment. Only a few minutes passed and both William and Marlia returned to the room that Keyta was sitting with a bowl with a fruit salad made for their daughter. Eager to get started on the specially made bowl of fruits, Keyta smiled to her parents and sat as proper as she could at the table with her hands holding each other tightly. Once the bowl was set down, the kelvic wasted no time getting her hands on the first few pieces of freshly cut fruit and started chewing on them. Several different flavors filled her mouth as she kept grabbing different fruits and stuffing her mouth full of them, too excited that her mother made her something to care that she may not be able to finish the whole bowl. Her mother giggled at the sight and her father laughed loudly with her. Keyta tried to smile to her parents but had trouble since her cheeks were so full which only made both of her parents laugh even louder.

After finally finishing her dinner, Keyta felt tired, due to all of the food filling her belly. She looked at her mother with eyes that could barely stayed open which easily spelled the story to Marlia. Without a second to waist, the kelvic's mother told her daughter to strip her clothes so she may put on a robe and they would all sleep together that night. Too tired to think, Keyta agreed, even if she didn't want to sleep with her parents, which she entirely did, she would have been so drowsy she couldn't have even noticed. Slowly, each article of clothing was removed from the kelvic, starting with the tunic, then down to her shorts and underwear. Finding the robe her mother spoke off, Keyta pulled it over her tired shoulders and started walking back to the room from before when her hand brushed over her parents bed. Keyta stopped in her steps, looked back at the bed and pushed her hand further into the soft blankets. Loving the feeling right away, Keyta placed her other hand on the blankets and even start rubbing her face into the bed before finally pulling herself into the bed; holding a corner of the blankets to her face as she dosed off. Her eyes shut quickly, her mouth stayed open, and he body went limp; as quick as ever, Keyta had already fallen asleep.

As Keyta fell asleep, her mother pushed the door open just enough to see that her little daughter had already fallen asleep. She closed the door to close off the light from the next room and walked over to her husband. "That little girl has already taken to bed, bless her heart, I wonder what type of things she has been through." Looking at her, William chuckled lightly and responded "Well I'm sure she has been through many things, however, we do face a decision if she is to stay with us." Marlia looked at William almost worried about what he was about to say. Trying to not let negative thoughts haunt her, she willingly listened to him as he began to speak again. "I say, that either we expose that she is a kelvic, but act as though we purchased her; give her a collar and the whole bit." With a small pause, William checked his wife's expression to see how she took to the first suggestion. "The only other option is to continue treating her as our daughter and enrolling her into school of the proper age group."
