One of the larger buildings around the Plaza, The Crafting Hall is the center of trade and commerce in Sultros City. Those seeking employment, apprenticeship or business ownership come to the Hall to engage in such activities. In order to be employed in Sultros City, one attain a writ of employment from an employer and bring it to the Hall for verification. Apprenticeships are also handled in a similar fashion with a potential apprentice providing a writ of apprenticeship to the Hall. Those wishing to start up a business or engage in formal trade must seek a business license with the Hall in order to begin. The Hall is responsible for providing any potential loans, buildings or other resources to would-be business owners, apprentices or employees. The entirety of the process is funded by an organization of tradesmen who also monitor and regulate all trade within the city.

The Hall itself is a relatively large building baring traditional isurian architecture; carved pillars, patterned stone and geometrically shaped stone furnishings. A large central desk dominates the center of the hall where an assistant directs visitors to one of a number of specified departments. The formality of the process is a dedication to the religious institution of business and industry.

Departments and Related Details

Crafting - The Crafting Department is responsible for overseeing various trades involving masons, carpenters, smiths, jewelers, pretty much any trade that involves production of an item or items. Apprenticeships or employment in related businesses must be verified and approved with this department while those wishing to start a related business must have their license approved here. Due to the general creativity and production ability of the isur, licenses for certain types of businesses are limited as to avoid flooding the market with too many businesses offering similar products. Skill and craftsmanship is a strict focus and those who cannot stand above the crowd with their talents, need not apply for a license. (In other words, L2 in a specific trade skill is required to start a business in Sultros City)

Education/Science - Though crafting is the most popular formal occupation in Sultros, there are a number of other jobs that are more scientific and educational in origin. Anthropology, Archaeology, Aquiculture and Cartography, are examples of a number of potential occupations in the city. While there are few Masters in the city available to take on apprentices in these areas, those who do usually operate small schools and/or scientific organizations that specialize in certain schools of study with various on-going projects. While the Crafting Hall does offer grants for various projects, they must be applied for. Applications for project grants are given to those who have displayed some talent in the project they wish to pursue. (In other words, L2 in a specific scientific/educational skill is required to have a chance at a project grant from the Hall)

Medical - Although isur are difficult to wound and even more difficult to cause greater harm to, they do get sick from time to time. There are also the occasional run-ins with wild animals both above ground and below as well as threats suffered from the growing Zith problem. Along with mining accidents, cave-ins and other forms of minor trauma, those possessing medical and/or herbal skills are valuable. While there are no formal hospitals in Sultros City, there are a number of local civilian healers as well as those who serve Izurdin's Hammer. The Hall can facilitate apprenticeships with local healers or grant an official medical practice to qualified individuals. (In other words, L2 in medicine or herbalism to be granted an official practice by the Hall and be considered a verified healer/herbalist within the city.)

Service - Those trades that do not involve crafting, science or medicine are considered service occupations. Bartenders, miners, hunters, fishermen, grooms and various labor-related occupations are governed by the Service department of the Crafting Hall. While anyone can engage in casual/hobby forms of mining, hunting or fishing, those wishing to turn it into a business or gain apprenticeship/employment in such areas must get verified with the Hall. The Hall may approve various amounts of resources for beginning small industries in related areas for a cut of profits. Benefits of such agreements involve business start-up funding as well as contracts that include approved areas of operation. The Hall's cut from such industrial pursuits is usually 25%. The Hall requires some amount of skill however from those seeking contracts to ensure an efficient kick-back on their investment. (In other words, L2 in a related service skill to gain a contract with the Hall for starting a service based industry.)

Magic - Magic-related occupational pursuits are governed by the Silver Tower in Pitrius City. The Crafting Hall has no jurisdiction over magical-based businesses or employment.
