To Meet A Wolf

Spring 33, 512 AV

Sylkra walked into the university, the note grasped in her hands. She hoped no one would care that she was here. She had never been here before, so it was an exciting adventure. But she wasn't here to observe, she had come here to schedule another hunt with Lyam. She had a hunt with him, and found out he made a very good friend. But then... their relationship had shifted a little...

She smelled the area. It smelled of smoke, and all kinds of race scents. But there was one she could just pick out... kelvic wolf. It had to be Lyam. She sniffed the scent, and it smelled exactly like him. Wolf-ish, but human. He always liked his human form more, she knew he would never give it up.

She followed the scent until she reached a set of stairs. She sniffed them, but immediately pulled her head away. It stunk of feet and mud. She followed her way up them, her bare feet tickled by the feel of the long cubes. She had so much fun she walked up and down them several times, but then stopped at the top after her 4th time, getting bored of it. She followed the scent once more, it went down hallways and through doors, but then stopped at a large dormitory that seemed deserted. It was very nice, containing a bed and a desk. Not wanting to mess anything up, she circled the bed and finally set her note down on top of it, containing in print:

Hi Lyam, it's Sylkra. The wolf you met in the forest? I was wondering if we could plan something for tomorrow, Spring 34. The same time, midnight. I'll be behind the End of The World inn if you need another time.

To Meet A Wolf

Lyam got Sylkra’s message without any surprise. He knew that the lonely Kelvic girl was quite desperate for company, desperate for some friends to be with. And he was a wolf Kelvic, the only one she knew. He sighed. He did not really know what to do with her.

He did not know if he was wrong or if she was. If his recent immersion by the humans had somehow altered his judgement. She was convinced that Kelvic were first of all animals and she shunned her human form. For the first point, history gave the answer: Kelvic were nothing more than animals before being given the power to shift by a big mage. But was that a sufficient reason to ignore one’s human form? Lyam would not think so.

Anyway, Lyam was pretty glad to go for a hunt the following night and presented himself on the check point at midnight, as she had asked. He was almost naked and just wore a pan to be able to shift easily. “Hi,” he just said with a little smile when he finally saw her. “Are we going? I’m hungry.

To Meet A Wolf

Postby Sylkra on April 26th, 2012, 8:40 pm

Sylkra streaked off, happy to finally hunt again. She was hungry, but also in the mood to hunt. She had been playing with a child she had met, but, as usual, the mother came back and shooed her away. This somewhat hurt her feelings, she was not a wild animal. Well, maybe a little. A lot.

Sylkra stopped when she reaching the same spot. Not long after did Lyam come, dressed in nothing more than a pot. She smiled. At least he had some wild to him. Actually, no he didn't. All he was was a trained pet that likes to lick human boot, when he should be out in the nature, free.

He was a dog, not a wolf.

Sylkra was glad to see him, but was kind of uncomfortable around a kelvic that wasn't animal at heart. She whipped up a smile, and said, "Hi Lyam."

"Sure, we can go. Ready to shift?"

With a swirling mist, she was transformed into a wolf. She raced into the forest, not waiting for him to catch up. He probably couldn't. He was a slow, weak human boy. Or so he thought.

This boy was without a doubt mind-washed. He spent too much time around civilization, and not enough time in freedom. She was going to change this habit if it killed her. She needed to make him believe he was wolf. Because, on the outside, and inside, he was human. But, somewhere in there, there is a spark that had died out. A spark of wildness. She needed to reignite it.

To Meet A Wolf

To Lyam’s big surprise, Sylkra seemed much less kind than the other time. She did not wait for him to shift and run to the forest and even seemed a bit disappointed. Or was that angriness? The boy did not know. Seeing the tip of Sylkra’s tail vanishing in the night, Lyam ran in his human form until the end of Zeltiva before getting of his pan and shifting. He ran faster, jumped over fallen trees and roots, following Sylkra thanks to his smelling. Soon, he caught her up and ran with her speed so that they could hunt side by side. He gazed at her with some pride “Did you think you could leave me behind?” his eyes said. Then his ears stood up on his head and he suddenly stopped. The wind had just brought them some noise and smell from a nice game.

OOCSorry for the delay, but as I said I’m on a f****** exam period
