Lyam

Image

Lyam is Kelvic, and shifts to a wolf. As a human, he looks like about 20 years old, but in fact he was born the 24th day of Spring, 509av. He's not that tall, neither hyper-muscled, but has as much agility as strenght. His hair are black like his wolf's fur and he's got green eyes where gold tinsel are sometimes dancing, reflect of his wolf nature. In a way, he looks awe-inspiring. But like any Kelvic, Lyam cannot wear clothes while he is shifting to a wolf. Being naked is also no problem to him, even if he tries to wear a pan or a short when he enters a town, to be respectful. Being bare foot is no more a problem and the price of shoes prooves him once and for all he doesn't need any. So if one day you would see him in his human form, you can already beat he would be stripped to the waist and blind to the fact that everyone gazed at him because of the huge tattoo he got from his right hip to his left shoulder, that continues on his back and left arm (mark from Leth).

When he shifts, his eyes turn entirely gold and nothing differenciates him from a real wolf, except of course the tribal tatoo he has on his chest but that is hidden under his fur.

Lyam loves loneliness, and he can't bear felling threatend by anyone. His freedom is his only good, and that is for sure he won't let it go. This explains why he doesn't dare getting too close to anyone, because he's scared of loosing a part of his liberty. In that way, he's not asocial at all, but you have to come very carrefully if you are to become his friend. However, once you are, Lyam is certainly the most loyal friend you could ever have. If "obey" is a word he doesn't know, "sens of honour" could be his motto.

As a wolf, Lyam loves hunting. In order to feed himself, of course, but also for pleasure. He's really keen on hunting lonely humans, scaring them until they turn out of breath and feel their last time has come. Come to that point, he lets them go and turns on his heel. Sadism ? Maybe more wildness and uncounsciousness: to him, it's just a game.

When he's not hunting or running through wild fields, Lyam wears his black pan and just does his business in the city before running away. How could he? you would ask, and you'd be right, as he can't bring anything with him as soon as he shifts to a wolf. The answer is obvious : he steals. Or borrows, it depends on the point of view. This is his favourite game when he's human : climbing the walls of houses at night - or not, the challenge in the daylight is fun too - running above the roofs, and picking up anything he finds useful. First a pan, to behave without any troubles in the daylight, then some food if he's hungry (always bread when he finds some, cause he really loves the smell), a sword if he needs one.. really anything, but nothing really important. And before he shifts, he always places the things somewhere near the town, so that someone can find them, and perhabs returns them to their owners - or not, but about that, he doesn't care.

There is not much to say about Lyam's childhood. Like any Kelvic wolf, he had to quit his father and mother very early, so early that he can hardly remember their names or faces. The only memory he has from them - a silver two-bladed sword that belonged to his father- is deeply hidden somewhere in the continent, with some other of his things, among what some money he has never use. Until today, Lyam has not sworn fealty to any family, nor single man or woman which was looking for protection. He would rather have a real friend to protect with pride, and not for necessity. As a hobbo, he speaks many languages - or tries to: he speaks the Common Language fluently, and speaks Pavi as a second language, and he has some notions on Fratava (poor).

Postby Lyam on April 12th, 2012, 1:41 pm

Are you sure you wanna know me better?

General Information :
1. What is your Name?
Lyam
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name?
Nobody has ever dared
3. How old are you?
3 years old
4. What is your height?
5’7’’ as a human
5. What is your weight?
150 pounds

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself.
Er… As a human, I’m a handsome boy, muscled and all. When I’m a wolf, I’m a dangerous male with perfect fangs and claws. Aha, well I don’t know, I guess I’m just special because of my double constitution.
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you.
More naked than normal people!
3. What is your favourite body feature?
Er… joker. I don’t mind.
4. How physically fit are you?
Not strong but agile.
5. How do you typically dress and what is your style?
Typically, I do not dress! Well, a pan when I wanna fit the landscape in a city, and a shirt if really needed. But please, no shoes.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like?
Can’t remember well. I think I look like my mother, Endlana. Dad used to say I had her green eyes. But obviously while growing up I’m turning like my father Tarod. What did they do? My father was a wolf Kelvic who bounded to my mother. And my mother was a wolf Kelvic who bounded to my father. I guess they are protecting each other while travelling all around the world.
2. Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Certainly, but I don’t know them and I certainly never will. This is the way wolves Kelvic live… I guess.
3. What is your extended family like?
Shall I really answer?
4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family?
Much more important. Family is for me the place you begin in, that’s it. Friends, well, you have them lifelong. However… if one day I have a kid, I’d like him to stay as long as he would want. I would not force him to leave as I was.
5. Do you treat animals like family?
How do you dare ask that to a Kelvic?

Location :
1. Where were you born?
Excellent question. I guess I was born somewhere in the big plains of the Sylira region.
2. Where do you live now?
In Zeltiva for this Spring. I still have no plan for Summer though.
3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be?
Everywhere. Never in the same place.
4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time?
Not really. Some wild place, I guess.
5. Where do you fear to be?
Somewhere I could not leave.

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?)
I’m ticklish, does it count? I've one long scar on my back, bad memory a wolf infested by the storm left me.
2. Are you right handed or left handed?
Right handed, only to write. Otherwise, I’m using both hands, it makes no difference.
3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent?
I speak common, and I’m not sure I have an accent. I was never told about it anyway.
4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Er… I’m often around completely naked because of my shapeshiftings – and well, because I don’t really like wearing clothes. But well, my (homo) roommate does not seem very disturb. I also have the bad habit to get through any troubles I can find in a circle of 3 miles.
5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them) ?
Leth marked me not so long ago with a big tattoo on my right arm and chest. But dyou know what? I still don’t know what is his gift.

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation?
Sleeeeping. Of course not. I’m an apprentice in Nadya’s herbalism shop.
2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why?
I don’t really know. I enjoy it, but I certainly won’t do that my whole life.
3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be?
I would not change anything.
4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why?
I admire doctors as much as fishmongers and teachers. Every occupation is admirable to me.
5. What occupation do you lest like? Why?
Begger: you ALWAYS can find something to do to deserve your own bread. Even stolen is a right occupation compared to beg. But well, it’s only my mind.

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you?
I used to be turbulent, robber, wild, free, never obedient, but happy to live, always smiling and never voluntary bad. Well ok, I’ve not change that much.
2. What is your favorite memory from childhood?
Every afternoon I’d spent with my parents in the lake not far from our home; the plays in the water, the picnics in the grass were so wonderful. We were a happy family.
3. What is your worst memory from childhood?
Er… certainly when I burnt the half forest we were living in by accident. It was the fear of my life and I’ve never been punished so hard than after that!
4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents?
Normal, I guess, for Kelvic. Not so close but still, I love them. They taught me how to survive alone, how to grow up.
5. Who was your most influential rolemodel?
I had none. But it’s obvious that if I had been with my parents longer, my father would have been so.

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have?
Only the essential: how to survive.
2. Do you like/dislike learning?
I love it. Everything new is wonderful. It’s only a pity I cannot remember better what I learn!
3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities?
Alone, in every place I’ve been. Climbing the rock faces to escape bigger predators, stealing breads in big houses to not be starving any longer, reading in the library to not be stupid anymore…
4. How do you learn best?
I think I’m better in learning manual stuffs like holding a sword or making medicines. Solving maths problems is not really my thing!
5. What are your educational goals for the future?
Let’s see what will be useful I don’t like to plan

Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not?
Barely, cause I’m a wolf Kelvic so many people think I’m not good to be with. But for those who are intelligent enough to understand I’m not a wild beast to kill, I’m ready to do some socialisation efforts. Moreover, I’ve a bondmate now! *look very proud*
2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not?
No, no and no again. Only because I’ve been treated like a beast all my life, so I refuse to give my trust with ease. I’m a wolf, I’m on my guards.
3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else?
No idea. I’ve never been in love with someone. But I guess a gay wolf would be very, very weird. So well, it’s more likely I’m straight, but who knows.
4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time.
My mother did, nose against nose… what? It does not count?
5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time.
What is sex? :D

Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time.
Unfortunately, I’ve to say yes… not so long ago. You can have an eye on this to have a better idea.
2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis?
Not really, let’s say I’ve been… disgusted by alcohol.
3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer?
I used to drink anything that was under my hand.
4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them?
None.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific.
It’s baaaaaaad. No really, I don’t care. Let’s just say it makes people turn crazy.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies?
Hunting, Learning, Finding myself in troubles
2. Do you like to read?
A lot, but I’m not a good reader
3. What annoys you more than anything else?
Failing in something I’ve tried. But I’ve never found a very boring activity otherwise.
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do?
Lying on the grass and gazing at the starry/cloudy sky.
5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why?
Being caught while failing.

Favorites :
1. What is your favorite color or colors?
Good question… red? Blue?
2. What is your favorite time of day?
Sunrise; beginning of a new day!
3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
The northern lights above the mountains while I was on my way to Zeltiva.
4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat?
I love meat – what a surprise! – and I’m not really keen on vegetables.
5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you?
I love windy days cause running with the wind at your back is really enjoyable.

Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic?
Quite optimistic I would say.
2. What are your religious views?
Reli… what?
3. Would you be able to kill?
Certainly to save my life or someone I love.
4. What are your views on sex?
Er… done to make children, isn’t it?
5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life?
Never regretting anything you’ve done and acting with your heart instead of your head – well, it’s much more risky too…

Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done?
The worst is certainly when I fought with another child in a little town to eat a stolen piece of bread. We were on a roof, and he suddenly felt when I pushed him. It was an accident, but I’m still feeling guilty. We could have shared it. We should have. It has marked me until now.
The best… well, I don’t know. Maybe it was when I decided to bond to my bondmate.
2. What is your greatest regret?
No regrets, never.
3. What is your best/worst memory?
Actually, it’s the same: the separation with my parents; both exciting and frightening.
4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why?
No regrets I said. Well, not exactly. I would have shared the bread instead of fighting.
5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life?
Protecting my bondmate – well, I’m a Kelvic, remember?

Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others?
Too honest maybe.
2. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Don’t think so.
3. What makes you happy?
Almost everything! I’m always smiling anyway.
4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for?
My bondmate, what a question!
5. What makes you angry?
Cowards and my own failures.

Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others?
First with distrust, then generally with respect… if they have shown they deserve it.
2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My bondmate and there are too many reasons for me to write them all.
3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
There are not many person in that case, but they are all as respectable.
4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover.
The ideal lover is the one you love and who loves you in return. Nothing to add.
5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
I don’t need any protection. I am the protector.

Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I fight only if I have to or for a cause. But when I do, you have no chance.
2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Not really. Anyway, I’m more alone or in small groups that don’t need a leader.
3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Not at all. I’m an introvert you know. I’d rather be with some people I know well and I can rely on than with hundreds strangers.
4. Do you care what others think of you?
Absolutely not. Except for one woman… guess who it is.
5. What do you think of others, in general?
They should tell more often what they really think. It would be far easier.

Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I think my loyalty is.
2. What is your greatest weakness?
My bonds to my close relatives. I would go to any length to save them or even to make them smile and be happy. When it deals about my bondmate or mentor, I don’t really think about my own life or well being anymore.
3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would buy a detector to avoid troubles!
4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted, clearly
5. Are you generally organized or messy?
It depends, really. My room is really messy, but at work I’m well organized

Beliefs :
1. What God or Goddess do you find most appealing, if any?
Leth, maybe?
2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any?
None really.
3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? If so, how did you receive them?
I have a Mark from Leth I got when I first protected someone who really needed me despite my own bad situation.
4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity?
I really don’t know.
5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much?
Loosing my freedom of moving and thinking is too much. If I serve a god, I want it to be self-decided.

Life & Death :
1. What do you absolutely live for?
Protecting my bondmate.
2. What is the best part of life?
Everything
3. What is the best part of death?
The death allows life to be more beautiful.
4. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
In saving someone I love. A useful death in fact.
5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I let you choose!

Seasons Resumes

Summer 512 av

Spring 512 av
Lyam decided to bring his stuff back to Zeltiva and ran to his hiding place. He met a hungry/angry bear on the road but managed to avoid being killed.

As he wanted to learn how to read, Lyam would go in the library to study. There he met Nai’shee again, who did not recognize him as she had never seen him in his human form. He played with that and did not reveal who he was. They shared a good time gazing at the clouds in the sky.

Lyam had his first fencing class where he hardly discovered what “to obey” meant.
He had his first Herbalism class, met Paul, another student and did a deal with him: notes against sketches.

Seeing Nai’shee on the main place, Lyam couldn’t help but registered as a volunteer to go and see the huge black Obelisk. […]

Walking down the streets, Lyam found himself overwhelmed by a deep protective feeling. He finally fought a fool wizard and a glassbeak with other warriors to protect Nai’shee from them. If he failed for the first one, he managed to prevent the glassbeak to even touch the girl. He then took Nai’shee back to the nursery where someone could take care of her, without being seen by her. Then he went back to the docks to help Anslem to put an end to the wizard capture.

Lyam had been very lucky not to be wounded by his last quest but Nadya – his mentor now – is really angry about the mindless boy. Ashamed, Lyam tried to regain Nadya’s proud in an even more foolish trip in the mountains. He was first attacked by infested wolves and got seriously wounded on the back but finally be saved by another wolf Kelvic. With him, he managed to find the very rare flower they were both looking for but decided to let it to him: he had saved his life. But the wound on his back is serious: he finally felt on the ground and lost consciousness so that the other Kelvic had to bring him back to the city on his back. Nadya was furious but cured him as she could. A scare was but unavoidable.

Because of his wound, Lyam had to rest and got really bored. He began to draw to spend some time and found it pretty cool: a new passion was born. But it also underlined few questions about his choices...

Nadya was really angry about Lyam and he felt ashamed. He did something cowardly to forget it: he got drunk. He even began a general fight and got expulsed from the inn with a new companion: Leigo. […]

Going for a hunt, he met Sylkra, another wolf Kelvic. They spent some wolf and childish time together all the night and did it again the following day.

Lyam would go to the library fast every days to learn basic things: reading, writing, arithmetic.

Working on the university gardens, Lyam met Nira’lia, a young girl he was not indifferent to. He taught her how to draw flowers before trying to draw a portrait of her. He finally sketches her… foot. They promised seeing each other again.

And they finally do. They both needed some things and went to the market together. They are looking for some artist's toolkit and finally found them in the docks, by an poor old woman. Lyam bought two toolkits and offered one to Nira.

Lyam had a new fencing lesson that not really went as good as it should. He argued with his teacher, behaved pretty bad and finally left the field with angriness.

Lyam really wanted to regain Nadya’s trust and did everything she wanted. He so went through the city to buy some plants she needed and met a strange, very strange woman.

Lyam got some days from rest and went to the beach where he found Siriak, his roommate. They spent some fighting time on the beach like two kids.

Winter 511 av
Arrival in Zeltiva the 80th.

Lyam found the university where he registered for Herbalism and Two-Bladed Sword classes for Spring. He got the dormitory too in a shared room with Siriak.

He quickly found a job: apprentice as an herbalist by Nadya for the end of Winter and the all Spring season.

In the docks, he met Ndale, another Kelvic, and they have fun together. He found her very weird but pretty cool.
