OOC: Continued from Scrolls Galore
Today Ray was feeling rather ambitious, not that he didn’t feel that way any other day, but today he was particularly inspired. Today he had a goal in mind for a particular set of reimancy scrolls. These scrolls will test all the concepts of which they had been working and learning in their journey together, and these would, if the magics meshed properly, would be a fearsome combination. He was determined to mix the disciplines of hypnosis and reimancy. Together the two, Ray was sure, would make quite the fearsome combination, and it was today that he wanted to test it.
Though being only a novice hypnotist himself, he didn’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. Yes, he had worked out the ‘formula’ to accomplishing this all night long and he was prepared to present his thesis to Evalin, the fire mage from which he would acquire this magical fire to mix with his own magic of hypnosis. A dangerous foe indeed. Nuits had to be careful around fire, least they go up in flames. That would never turn out good in any situation.
Walking to the classroom the nuit, fidgeting was all he could do to keep himself from exploding into a fit of magical theory. Magics and its application interested the nuit to such an extent. He knew was he was onto something and so the moment he burst into Eva’s room he started out, puking out his explanations and thoughts on what their next project would be for the next twenty days. This one would be taxing for the both of them, but it would hopefully be worth it in the end. One could only hope.
”Oh Evalin, my dear,” he started out as he had been over the long period of time of which they had been working together, ”I have found our next project and what our next twenty scrolls will be.” he said with a sense of accomplishment. Magic, yes it was that force that really made him feel alive again. Living or dead magic and the overuse of it affected them all the same. It was the great equalizer. It was through magic that people gained money and fame, and it was through great magic that people became legendary and their work revered.
”Using all the concepts of which I have, so selflessly,” he added, ”taught you about glyphing. We are going to try our hardest project yet.” he announced. A real wizard never ran away from ‘hard work’. They would see it through to the end. All twenty of the scrolls. They each will have a set of what Ray was going to call Pryosis. Though he would never say that name out loud, ”Using glyphs, paths, and switches we are going to create pairs of glyphs, your fire reimancy and my hypnosis. With the paths we are going to link them together and with the switches we are going to have them combine and fire off as one spell simultaneously.” he said.
