Description:

During the Djed Storm of 512, the mountains surrounding Wind Reach were torn apart with the force of Ivak’s escape. Stone fell from the sky, raining destruction upon the skyward city. While the end of Spring 512, The Rebuilding, cleared most of the rubble away of the city beginning shortly after, some of the debris left behind turned out to be more than useful.

Formally part of the main volcano itself, the Skystone was freed in the first eruption that fateful morning. Having sat for an immeasurable amount of time submerged in lava, the molten stone solidified quickly upon being expelled into the air. A combination of this rapid cooling and its exposure to extreme amounts of wild djed has given this rock quite a few special properties.

Having fallen from the sky and landed just off the coast of Thunder Bay, an immediate interest in the stone was taken by the few scholars of Wind Reach. Harder than most normal stone, there isn’t any substance known to the Inarta that can cut the stone. Dark red gems glitter right under the surface of the stone, though there is no way to access them.

The unusual circumstances by which the Skystone fell has left it constantly warm. Steam can be seen rising around the base of the rock, covering the waters around it in a mysterious fog. The heat is a constant property of the stone, consistent despite the time of day or season. This could prove to be very useful during the Winter season.

But of course, everyone needs to have fun. Attracted to the landmark by it’s interesting shape, Yasi have taken to climbing and jumping from the Skystone. Endless hours of fun can be sought by all who can swim the distance to the stone, a nice reprieve from the cold nip of the Bay’s waters.
