While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

A Dog and, Two?

91st of Summer, 512 AV

Lynes awoke with a start, he was laying in the middle of an open field on the edge of Syliras, barely within The Bronze Woods. It wasn't a good idea to sleep in such a place, although it wasn't really his idea any way. He had simply dozed off in his relaxation. Looking up he tried to find the sun, to judge how many bells had passed Finding it, he cursed himself, Shyke. The sun was directly above him, making it mid-day. He was late.

He planned to leave Syliras, he wanted to head to Ravok instead. A city on water, not exactly a good home for a wolf. Most would have thought that, but Lynes didn't really care. He had done his research and found out that the city was not a home for Kelvics anyway. Instead the people within it would enslave or just kill off most that came within their reach. He would have to act completely human, although his golden eyes may make him stand out. He didn't really mind though, he was far too bored for his own good and wanted to add some excitement to his life.

His plan was to meet up with an odd acquaintance of his, he hadn't really talked to the man even once, but he had heard much about his medical skills and believed that he would be a good traveling partner. He was suppose to meet him eight bells into the day, but had awoken early and decided to relax in his only known place within The Bronze Woods. It is now at least twelve bells in, perhaps even thirteen. He was late, something that was rare with him.

It was his first serious meeting with this man and he was going to be late, what a shame; such a terrible introduction. Lynes stood and stretched out his body, front legs before back legs. He trotted off in his wolf form towards Syliras, knowing this part of The Bronze Woods rather well. He walked out of the clearing and onto the edge of a stream which he followed to a rather insignificant tree, at least to most people.

To Lynes, this tree was his closet and his dresser. Morphing back to his human form, he reached down under the tree into a paw dug hole; pulling out a full set of clothing, undergarments, a shirt, and a pair of pants. Putting each on in that respective order, he stretched out his now human body. He then reached down into the hole again and pulled out his patch of six hundred golden mizas, which he had been saving for his journey; tying the bag that they were in to his waist. Heading off towards Syliras.

The person he was suppose to be meeting went by the name Race Banner, who really knew if that was his real name, either way it was the name that he told everyone when he greeted them. He had a reputation for being a tad crazy, but Lynes had assumed that it would only make him even more of an interesting travel companion. Race was a doctor of sorts, giving out his skills to a not so select few. He helped the poor in Syliras, performing his magic for free. Banner was looking for a way to get out of helping the poor, he was getting sick of it. As an answer, Lynes offered to travel with him to Ravok, on foot.

Lynes walked through the gates of Syliras towards the giant castle that made up more than ninety percent of the city. He would miss it no doubt, but being in a more active, more enticing city just continued to draw him away from Syliras. He had told Race that he would meet him in front of the pathway towards the castle, he was at least four bells late, but Lynes hoped Race would still be there.

Who is to say dreams are not reality perhaps connecting you to another time or place or world even. There is no way to disprove it and some have even gone as far as feeling the nightmare itself hands grabbing at them or the sense of falling. The good doctor dreaded going to sleep he dabbled in cocktails of different venoms and herbs and mysterious oils to prolong his wakefulness.

When he went to sleep he saw things he didn’t want to see and the scary part was that it seemed that the dreams were all connected somehow. He could hear the sounds of a thousand screams and the sound of war echoing about him he could feel the heat rising off the buildings around him and smell the scent of blood and smoke. What he saw though was the most horrifying. A figure who walked on all fours his body burned till it resembled hamburger.

It was a hamburger lady, she’s dying. .parts of her flesh are coming off her burned legs and her screams deafen Race.
Her head is wrapped in gaze a puddle of blood where her face use to be as she crawls closer to Race screaming as ever nerve in her body flashes with pain. Race woke up screaming his fingers digging into his bed his body covered in sweat. He shook his head and brought a hand to his face rubbing his eyes and dragging his hand downward rubbing his face. “Need to shave.” He murmured to himself as he got up nude from bed and slowly began to shave his face with a barber knife.

“We need to stop having those nightmares Tanner. Hopefully are Kelvic friend is waiting for us. Wait your right…..I really don’t want to but no one else will no one will do as good a job as you.” He spoke to himself as he began to get dressed. “This is going to be a bit messy.” He sighed he wished he could have done more but he knew he couldn’t have

A while later he was sitting by the best side of a young boy his foot was black and his veins were showing yellow. Race and the boy remained silent as Race stared at the foot wishing it would just stop being infected and heal itself. “Will it hurt?” The boy broke the silence his face ridden with fear and anxiety.

Race didn’t answer for a moment as he slowly wrapped a leather belt around the upper part of the leg right below the knee. “Yes but you will not die.” Banner didn’t lie and he slowly got up to order his mother to heat up a cast iron pan while he let the part of the leg sit for a moment.

After a few moments he returned and walked over to the boy and pulled a bottle of herb that sat next to his bed side. He pushed his thumb on the square clear bottles cork and with a pop the foul smelling aroma filled the room. Race inhaled the scent which made his head dizzy but carefully lifted up a pale blue cloth rag that set next to the bottle and tipped the bottle upside down in the rag till it was soaked. Setting the bottle down he slowly went forward and place the rag over the boy’s face. For a moment the boy gaged but then suddenly relaxed and then passed out.

Race left the room and after a few moments returned with a small saw. Banners face was emotionless and his eyes seemed to be glossed over and dead. Brining the blade to the boys leg he began to work after a few minutes the wound was cauterized. After making sure the boy was comfortable and told the parents how to clean the wound and where to go for a wooden brace he was gone to where he was meeting his friend.

Race found a small fountain which had a slight stone wall around it which one could sit on. He sat down adjusting his butt on the flat stone surface and stared forward. His clothes were slightly covered in blood. After the second bell Race final relaxed taking a deep breath looking about. He had brought all his money he didn’t want to cary his things along he was sure he could find new clothes once they reached their destination. He hadn’t realized that LYnes was running late and just people watched.

Lynes found himself at a fountain at the end of a path towards the castle itself. Sweat ran down the sides of face and down the back of his neck. He had hoped that the doctor would still be here, but perhaps he wasn't. Perhaps he had gone on without Lynes, after all, he was four bells late.

Looking around, he searched for Banner, he had only seen him around the city a couple of time and so he didn't really know what the man looked like. He looked over at the castle, it's stone walls were the core protection for the whole of Syliras. The huge building housed the majority of the citizens, the few that couldn't afford the little apartments lived on the outskirts of the castle, in small makeshift abodes.

The destination of this adventure was simply to arrive at Ravok, although Lynes found himself wondering what life would be like there. He may even find himself a slave of someone, or perhaps finally bond with someone. He had been trying to bond with someone since his previous master had dismissed him. This time he wanted a stronger bond though, someone who valued both his human and his wolf form. Perhaps Ravok wasn't the place to go, but no matter what, it sure would be exciting. That was his hope anyway.

Turning towards the fountain he saw a man seated on the edge of it, opposite to where Lynes was standing, his body almost completely concealed by the base of the fountain. It appeared to be the man that he was looking for, the man had slightly long blonde hair and wore the strangest of clothing. A vest over a white shirt, darkly shaded pants, and it was all finished off by a strange piece of cloth that was wrapped around his neck and draped down his chest.

Lynes saw that the man didn't appear to be upset or aggravated at all, he only seemed to be watching and waiting on something. Lynes assumed that something was him, but who really knew. They say you can never know what the doc is thinking, especially this one. Perhaps he was waiting on something else as well, something within his own mind. The man's eyes fluttered around, meeting each person as they passed, taking them in.

Walking over to the other side of the fountain Lynes sat beside the man, looking over at him. They both carried little, he could tell that. Lynes had a pouch of gold tied to his waist that was tight enough not to jingle with each step he took. In the pockets of his pants he held the pleasantries of life, the items that would help him groom himself each day. Lastly he had a knife tied to his waist on his back, hidden by his shirt.

Although the knife appeared to be for protection, it had only ever been used to cut his own hair and Lynes would much rather just fight with hands. He just placed it there as it was an easy way to carry it and transport it to the next city. Slowly he opened his mouth to speak to the man seated next to him, “I have arrived. Banner I believe was your name?” Lynes questioned, uncertain of what the man really wanted to be called.

[Travel]A Dog and, Two?[Race_Banner]

The sounds of voices and almost defining sound of shoes clunking against the cobble stone square around him almost put Race in a hypnotized state. Watching the different people there lives intermingling there happiness there sadness there wants and desires the stories they had seen and done. He closed his eyes and listened to his heart beat slowly drawing himself inward began hearing the soft quiet ripples of the water behind him. Tanner had warned him that this trip was going to be dangerous and that he might have to take someone’s life however he had come to the conclusion that if worse comes to worse he would rather die than be forced to kill someone.

“Avoid rather than check, check rather than hurt, hurt rather than maim, maim rather than kill. For all life is precious nor can any be replaced.” He spoke to himself softly listening to Tanners agreement. He wondered he could trust this individual on this journey that had only spoke on a few occasions but he did not know of the man’s history or true intentions. Perhaps he would stab him and leave him to die in the road or perhaps sale him into slavery who knew but life was about taking chances. If Race listened to all his paranoia he would lock himself in his apartment and never leave.
When he felt a presence sit down next to him he slowly opened his eyes looking the man up and down with his glasses.

Race always seemed to be looking through a person when he was looking at you his brain unable to stop processing medical information or making examinations. “I have arrived. Banner I believe was your name.” The man spoke and Race nodded. “Yes I am Banner shall we depart I don’t have much luggage.” He said with a smile happy the man didn’t ask about the blood stains on his shirt after the amputation he had done a few hours prior. “By the way…do you have a map or a plan I am bad with navigation.” Race sighed he would get distracted along a path go look at something and lose his way and die out in the woods.

“By the way anything I should know any medical conditions or creepy night habits perhaps?” Race asked he had once traveled with a cannibal not the best times but the man was good for conversations and discussion the best types of cutting devices. Race had even go so far as to try a bit of human meat he found it edible however he theorized that somehow that it would cause something to happen.
