The Jamoura's rage just continued to grow within him as the mutated creature approached; the hideous nose-less bulk of body getting closer by the second. Blood was trickling down it's face and out of its cavities as the axe began to rise above his head. Perhaps this was slightly more dangerous than he had expected but none of that truly mattered now, this was his time to act. Any delay and countless more innocents could be slain and his own blood would just be joining the bath. The feral growl changed, rapidly becoming a war cry as he beat his chest. The creature was in mid-swing now and any normal warrior would be frightened for his life yet something inside of Rohnn wouldn't allow his weaker emotions to take over. Something kept him going.

"STOP THIS!"

He roared violently, charging head first at the mutation; whose axe was on it's way down. The speed of the charge was impressive but Rohnn could only hope that it would take some effect on the over-sized mass. He himself had quite a bit of weight behind him.

Stitch and Damien huddled in a corner of one of the stables, both of them breathing hard. Stricken and stressed now, Stitch scanned over Damien, noting the torn and scraped elbows and knees. Reaching out a hand to gingerly touch at them, Stitch winced. He hadn't realized he was moving so fast, that he had been so reckless with the boy. He had just been so focused on getting the boy to safety, getting him out of that mob and away from the two dark, horrible auras, that he hadn't even given a thought to what his increased speed might do to the child. He had literally dragged him all the way to the stable. Why hadn't he just scooped him up in his arms? Grabbing Damien, he held him tightly, instantly apologizing. "Damien, this one is sorry. This was was worried, and didn't know what would happen, if you would be okay, and this one simply whisked you away without a second thought. Are you okay?"

Damien mumbled something into Stitch's chest, and Stitch released him a bit, giving him room to talk. To breath. The boy stumbled backwards, free from Stitch's crushing hug, and gave Stitch a look that only a young boy could give his dad. "I am fine, Stitch. I am pretty old you know, and strong. We wrestle all the time. I am not as wimpy as to be slowed down by a bunch of scrapes and scratches." He crossed his arms, still staring at Stitch, looking almost hurt that Stitch would be so incredibly worried about him.

Stitch laughed, his laughter mixed with a bit of a sob. He lifted his shaky hands, wiping tears from his cheeks, realizing his whole body was trembling. His legs ached too, the sudden, panicked burst of Djed doing a small number on his muscles. Best not to use any more Flux for awhile, or at least not in that region. He was so relieved that the boy was okay. He realized he was still chuckling a bit, now out of pure relief. He patted the boy's head, and pulled him in for another hug. Damien struggled for a bit, but after a moment, wrapped his own arms around Stitch. After a few moments of silence between both man and boy, he mumbled out a few words. "Thank you, Stitch." Stitch nodded, clinging to the boy. He didn't want to have to go through that again. No one should ever have to lose a child.

He suddenly noticed people were still screaming, and suddenly pulled away from the boy. More people were dying. He had to help them.

"Stay here, Damien. Don't move, curl into the corner. Don't let them see you. This one is going out to help the other people." Damien paused, a look of worry crossing his face. After a minute though, he curled into the corner. "Be careful, Stitch." Stitch gave him a grin, and a pat, and then moved, out into the crowd once more. He ducked before entering, crouching low, making sure is base was steady so the crowd wouldn't knock him over. Their auras were so bright, jumbling, he couldn't even make out different people. He could make out small spaces between them, only a few, and that had to be the path he took, or he simply had to let the crowd guide him. Keeping crouched, he moved slowly, now with the crowd, toward the heaving black auras that stood out so brilliantly. Scooping up two handfuls of dirt now, he headed straight for the speedy one, unaware of exactly which he was targeting. He had to take them out, before they killed more people. Reason with him, perhaps.

He had a feeling reason wouldn't work.

Abashai watched in amazement as the Jamouran charged the freakish axe-wielding mutant. He had never seen the ape-like creatures and was surprised to hear it yell in Common. Nevertheless, seeing a moment of opportunity, the benshiran began to force his way through the panicked crowds. Gnosis power surged through his form, imbuing him with twice the strength of a normal man and the mental fortitude to face such horrific foes. He made his way towards the smaller deformed humanoid. The murderous creature whirled in a deadly arc as his studded club and shield were swung in morbid unison, mowing down hapless citizens. The desert warrior took only a moment to assess his opponent. It was obvious that the beast was primally driven to destroy. There would be no intimidating the monstrosity, no logic or reason considered. Then something caught his eye.

A large bowl of Synaflower seeds had been over turned, the pile tromped under a myriad of desperate feet. Abashai grabbed the bowl in his left had and scooped up a pile of the small seeds. Shoving his way towards the shorter mutant, he flung himself in front of the beast. bowl of seeds in one hand, three feet of cold steel jutting from the other, Abashai gauged his move for a breath then darted to one side. Flinging the bowl of seeds into the creature's face, the benshiran hoped it would distract the freak for an instant while he brought his heavy khopesh sword to bear in a powerful low swing intended to hack into his opponents abdomen.

Finally Some Sport

Noseless' grimace of concentration and exertion turned into an expression of glee and excitement; The ape was fighting back. Finally a little sport. Gore and battle in any form pleased the creature, but it was more exciting when they fought back. More pleasing to wallowing in their pain when they had tried to overcome.

Those the prospect of a real battle thrilled him on his most primal level, the sudden charge of the Jamoura had caught him completely off guard. Rohnn barely made it under the axe in time, with the butt of it hitting his back just as contact of made with Noseless. Pain coursed through the Jamoura's back upon impact of the butt of the axe, an occurrence that would have been avoided were it not for the beast's long misshapen arms. Though it barely made any impact on the ape; he was in such a state of anger that I would take a crippling wound to stop him.

Noseless was caught off balance and thrown back from the Jamoura's charge. Though the blow didn't immediately topple the monster, it pushed him back, stumbling. After a few awkward steps backwards, the mutated human tripped over his own feet and fell right on his back, it's axe falling a few feet away. The Jamoura had fallen from the blow from the back of the axe, but he was otherwise unharmed. Though surprised that such a creature was able to catch him off guard, Noseless' was back on his few in a few seconds, with his stone spear in hand.

-------------------

Noseless' companion was in a similar predicament, though he had no idea that an attack was coming. Caught up in his whirlwind of death an destruction, the humanoid didn't see Abashai coming until he noticed the contents of a bowl flying straight at him. The Syanflower seeds caught him right in the eye and he was overwhelmed with the burning sensation that followed.

Strangely enough, through the pained expression, a smile formed on his face as well. Competition. Battle was what he lived for, and he finally had something worth fighting. Maybe. From his lifetime of battle experience, the creature knew that something was coming for his, so while still twirling in his deadly dance, he made a quick jump away from the seed attack.

Abashai's kopesh was already on it's course toward the speedy mutant, but he was a fast one. Instead of a heavy blow, cleaving the creature in half, it was a glancing blow, along the side of his abdomen. While not merely a scratch, it wasn't a deadly blow either.

The smile was wiped off of the creature's face. He was wounded, temporarily blinded and had no idea where to attack. So, the creature backed up, flailing his shield and club wildly, hoping to hit something, but coming up empty.

Rohnn felt the butt of the axe connect with his back as he made contact with the abomination. A long gasp of air fled from his lungs as they both fell to the ground and, within a few seconds, noseless was once again on his feet. The creature seemed to have another weapon in his hands and it took Rohnn a moment to realize that it was a spear. He dived for the beast's axe, hoping to at least be partially armed against the creatures violent attack.

Abashai recovered from his strike at the assailant, seeing the mutant flail its spiked shield and wicked club in a blind but deadly whirlwind. The creature was stepping back, and the Benshiran could not afford to lose the moment of advantage his attack had created. He darted around the thing, coming desperately close to its arc of destruction. He could see the gaping gash his desert sword and rent in its flesh, but it was obvious the monster was in a killing frenzy, most likely immune to the pain of only the most mortal wounds. Abashai posed that, if he could cripple his opponent, it would present a more realistc opportunity for a killing blow.

Juking around the maddened abomination, Abashai willed the gnosis power to surge into his shoulders and arms as he made another fervent attack aimed at hamstringing the humanoid.

The Battle Continues

Noseless reeled for a moment, caught off guard by the bravery and sudden charge of the ape-creature. While the attack had caught him off guard, it didn't completely stun him. His battle experience let him find himself back up in no time, and with a spear in hand.

It also seemed that his opponent had some experience as well, for the Jamoura had Noseless' axe in hand. The heft felt perfect in Rohnn's hands. The oversized axe seemed just the right size to fit the giant Jamoura.

After a moment of the two giants squaring off, Noseless made a desperate attempt to surprise the ape. He suddenly lunged forward, spear heading straight for Rohnn's chest.

-------------------

The smaller humanoid was in a far worse position than his enormous friend. The gash in his side was bleeding profusely and his only chance at survival was to somehow strike a killing blow in a blind frenzy. Not the best plan.

Abashai darted around the thing, staying close enough to obtain one little nick on his arm, as if from a particularly rough patch of brier. He was right where he needed to be. Too busy with his blind flailing, the creature had no idea that his opponent had moved.

The strike landed true, driven by to much power that it rend flesh and bone, essentially lopping off the creature's leg. He fell to the ground hard, narrowly missing Abashai on his way down. His weapon flew from his hand upon impact, and he lay on the ground, writhing in pain, defenseless.

Though the abomination's bone-studded cudgel rent through Abashai's coat to score his flesh, the man did not immediately sense it. Adreneline was pulsing though him, and the almost eurphoric physical power of holy ennervation engulfed him.

The Benshira grunted as the keen steel blade of the sickle-shaped khopesh bit through flesh and bone with a satisfying cleaving sound. Barely maintaining balance, Abashai narrowly avoided the flailing weapons of the collapsing mutant, the gore and blood from the grievous wound spattering across the swordsman and the dead and wounded victims stewn about them.

As his foe's grasped vainly for his fallen weapon, twisting in pain in an expanding pool of his own crimson ichor, the desert warrior tromped on its other arm with a booted foot, trapping the spike shield against the ground.

Abashai glared at the creature shuddering frantically beneath him. A brief, fleeting sense of pity rose in the Benshira's heart, swept away almost immediately by the horror of the gruesome monstrosity. Even as it laying dying, its inhuman eyes were filled with rage and hate. It was a corruption of life, and Abashai was faithful to rid the world of it. The marked One of Yahal raised his heavy blade in both hands, his next strike intent on separating the writhing monster's grotesque head from its shoulder.

Rohnn's eyes focused themselves upon Noseless' vile figure. What was this abomination that he was facing? He shuddered to think but that wasn't important right now. What was important was taking care of the mutated thug. Rohnn flexed his grasp on the axe; tightening a hand over the giant weapon. It was perfectly balanced, a fantastic fit for his large stature. A grin came across his face - he had found his weapon of choice. Noseless had recovered quickly but not fully. He seemed taken a-back by the Jamoura's bravery. The mutation lunged - speared at the ready - towards the giant ape. He examined the area surrounding them, spotting a small market stand within diving range; the supports seemed loose and barrels were stationed above. He took the chance, diving towards the supports in a barrel roll and hoping that things went his way.

An Ending to a Very Bad Day For Syliras

In it's last moments of life, the hate-filled creature was still sputtering gargled curses through the blood that pooling in his mouth. He writhed on the ground, but his spontaneous, spastic jerking did little to effect Abashai. The hardened warrior took one look at the deformed atrocity and finished his life. The Benshira's khopesh passed easily through the weaken creature's flesh, cleaving it's head completely off the body.

The creatures head rolled to the side a couple feet, his face fixed in the inhuman show of rage that was his entire existence.

The Abashai's attention was deferred by a loud crash to his far left.

-------------------

As Rohnn's eyes met the unwavering gaze of the deformed creature known as Noseless, an idea popped into his head. He looked to his right, spotting a stall with barrels atop an awning , which extends from the main stall, held up only by wooden pillars positioned just right.

Rohnn made a desperate move. He saw Noseless slowly closing the gap between them. So, knowing he was outmatched, Rohnn rushed at the pillars. Noseless blindly followed, setting himself up perfectly for the trap. The giant ape hit the pillars with full force and the closest buckled under his weight, angling the awning downward, right behind him.

The front portion of the awning collapsed, creating a 45 degree angel. The impact jostled the barrels, which tore through the rope, loosening them from an restraint. The barrels tumbled down, landing straight on Noseless and throwing him to the ground. The first barrel exploded, crushed between Noseless' chest and the next falling barrel, sending spouts of red wine all over.

After another blow to the chest from the relentless downpour of barrels, the last one teetered off the edge of the awning. It fell fast and hard, landing directly where the creatures nose should have been.

Noseless' entire skull was crushed beneath the weight of the barrel of wine, sending blood spurting across the cobblestone ground. After the impact, the barrel rolled away, leaving only a mound of flesh and brain matter at the end of a headless corpse that emptying itself of blood through the gaping hole where the head used to be.
