Hey There! (how many ways to say "hello"?)

Postby Abashai on August 26th, 2009, 9:16 pm

Hello denizens of Mizahar! I'm gonna jump right in with the questions:

1. Name - or what you'd like to be called!
You can call me Mike, but Michael sounds so much more arcane and angelic.

2. What sort of RP experience do you have if any?
Played about everytable top game available during the 80's (about 10?). Took about 10 years off to start a family, then picked it up again. Also spent a while in a sci fi PBEM. Raised on the generic D&D/Tolkeinn and Star Wars genres. Don't try to guess my age.

3. How did you find us?
Posting in a PBEM weblist.

4. What sort of RP style is your favorite?
Not sure what you mean! Genre-wise probably Star Wars or D&D (I know the universes well)
Third person. Still a novice at writing and not quite comfortable with collaborative storytelling, but this is all about getting out of the boat!

5. What do you like to write about - not write about?
I'm a guy, so combat is on the list. But not for its own sake. I'd like to try focusing more on character development. I'm not into magic, graphic sex or creepy undead stuff (no offense to the Ghosts and Nuits).

6. Whats your favorite thing about Mizahar so far?
The originality...its nice to get away from the stale stereotypical genres.

7. What, if anything, has frustrated you about Mizahar so far?
Like others have said, there's a whole lot to read and choose from! I know its still in development and I can't wait to see it flesh out.

8. What would you like out of the mizahar experience?
An opportunity to express my love for fantasy by crafting my writing skills. Oh, and fun.

9. Is there anything you'd like to see expanded?
looks like its all on its way.

10. Anything else you want to talk about?
No, well, yeah. Just wanted to mention I like eggs...oh and cake too. Probably cake more.

Welcome Mike! Great to have you :)
In his winding wail and his deep-heaved sigh, his aching grief found vent...
While the sea looked upon the bending sky and murmured,
"I repent..."

Hey Mike... it looks like your boarderline pro at this already. :) It was great reading your introduction. I can totally relate to your love of tabletop and star wars stuff. I was right there with you in the 80's. I agree totally with your likes and dislikes too - and being here to expand our writing skills and have fun telling adventure stories with one another.

Don't worry, some of us are older than others as well. There's nothing fatal about being in your thirties (I am!) pushing the big 40 or even higher. Some of my favorite people to game with irl are in their 60's... and tell the absolute most vivid stories. We still laugh about 'remember that adventure back in '04 or the time we got together for a weekend up at Mt. Rainer in '83 and played the original D&D for 30 solid hours?! Great stuff... really great stuff.

We're glad you dropped by... and I really hope you decide to stay. We really value every new player, ever new voice, and I can't wait to get to write with you either as a moderator or as a PC. :)

Be Welcome. We're glad you're here!

Welcome to Mizahar, Michael! :) Enjoy your stay and feel free to ask any questions. (And I am partial to cake, as well. In fact, I want cake. Right now.)

Welcome and good to have you, Mike!

Indeed, your introduction sounds very exciting. And don't worry, I don't take your 'creepy undead stuff' personal. :p It's more interesting to have many different races anyway!

Welcome to the game! I'm jazzed to see another well-thought-out Benshira player. Since you've chosen a desert dwelling race, I bestow on you....
