Pseudo Downtime and DNS Issues With Our Provider

Pseudo Downtime! Hello Mizaharians! I don't know about you guys but I was unable to long onto the site all day today and have noticed others not here that should be. It seems our service provide is having problems with their DNS server. They are aware of the issue. However, Mizahar has not been down. We've been up just virtually inaccessible by everyone unless you used the direct connect IP address of http://50.63.147.105:8080/forums/ . This will not let you CHANGE pages or stay logged in, so it is somewhat useless, but you can tell we were still up just inaccessible. This problem is still ongoing. A great deal of websites on the net are affected. So spread the word and hopefully later today our provider will get some of this problem worked out. Tarot was able to suggest I reset my DNS server on my own pc to 8.8.8.8 and that gave me access. So here I am. Anyhow, I thought you guys might want to let others know there is a potential workaround. Changing DNS servers on your pc is different for each system you use. My XP system was simple to change via the control panel and network settings, but yours might be different. Google the procedure for your OS. This also happened to me, but only for last 11-12 hours or so (maybe it's the same with other cases, just timezone differences, I suppose I'm awake longer). I don't know, but I'm using 8.8.8.8 DNS for few weeks now due to some issues with the old server and I had the same problem for instance.

I hope everything's alright now, since i see plenty of people online. I'm so glad it's not really down. You got me worried.

Thanks about informing about this in more details, I thought the problem could be in my laptop, since I felt like "Omg, that's Mizahar, there can't be error!" XD

Lucky for me I was at work and was good and didn't sneak away to Mizahar! Is this part of that GoDaddy snafu?

Yes, it was the global GoDaddy failure that grounded half the internet yesterday. The site was never offline, just unreachable through the domain name mizahar.com . A single Anonymous member claimed responsibility for the attack, which affected millions of sites for about four hours. GoDaddy has promised a full update later today. Non-GoDaddy hosted sites that used GoDaddy as a DNS were also afftected.

As a side note, this is exactly the reason we have accounts on Facebook and Twitter. We had information and workarounds posted within minutes of the problem occurring. Everyone really should subscribe for the latest updates on the website.
