Summer 82. 512 AV. Markus could feel the guilt and shame burn within him as he watched the city of Zeltiva. A city he had not seen for a decade. Somewhere inside this city, his family lived. A family he had not seen for just as long. Still. He did not make a move to go visit them. Still had not forgiven them for sending him off to the knights. It was strange. He could not picture a life without the knights. He did not want to picture a life outside the knights. But still. He hated them for abandoning him. His emotions were conflicted to say the least. The house he stood in front of had been the one he had spent the first decade of his life in. Same streets he had played and had fun in he stood on now. But as he stood before the house. Contemplating if he should enter it or not. See if any of them had survived the storm. Markus let out a low whistling sigh as he turned away from the house. He could not handle it right now. His goal was to assist the knights. Not spend time with his family. Yes. That was the excuse he used. He knew he was just avoiding the confrontation. Avoiding the emotional trauma. But he did not care. He turned and left the street. His heart still felt heavy as he walked away. He had no real goal in mind as he wandered. Somehow he ended up in the camp. He looked around and saw knights and squires walking about. Some looked as much without a purpose as him, others looked determined in their walk. Some of them coughed a little, a summer cold perhaps. Probably nothing serious. He thought about the night before. With Bob and ser Imass. It brought a smile to his lips. With that, he knew what he could do. Find Imass and ask if he was up for some practise. Training always managed to divert his thoughts from things he did not want to think about. This was exactly one of those things. He went for his sleeping area. He only carried his sword on him, not his shield. He wore the armor of the knights. Mainly because if he had come to his father, he wanted him to see what Markus had become. He found his tent and grabbed his shield and dagger he sheathed in the empty spot by his left side. Now he just had to find Imass. Should not be hard to find a six and a half feet tall blue Akalak. He would most likely be in the camp of some sorts. Took Markus several chimes before he found the Akalak. Markus raised his hand and waved. "Ser Imass! My friend." He said loudly and with a wide smile. "I hope you are well. What do you say we have a little friendly sparring exercise?" He offered the knight. |
