Paint the Town (Weylin)

She took his hand after some deliberation, and he deftly raised it and placed a kiss on her knuckles.

“Indeed,” he agreed. “Surely there are warmer things that could be taking up our time?”

He looked east, then gestured in down the street. The night, though it had started out quietly, seemed to have taken a turn for the better. A fistfight never failed to get his blood running, but rarely did he spend the majority of his adrenaline. Energy still pumped through his veins, and at the moment only a single destination seemed worth making a trip in this chill.

“Kelp Bar’s that way,” he stated. “Would you object to warming up there?”

Weylin's gaze turned cold for a second when he kissed her knuckles, and her head almost instinctively turned away, mumbling a few words in Pavi under her breath. She kept a very careful watch on him and cautiously followed his lead.

"Kelp Bar?" she questioned the words for a moment as if thinking "Home of the drink that smells of fish? No objections here."

The Drykas brought her cloak tightly around herself, and stared out into the gloom, watching and waiting carefully. She ached, and did not object to the idea of warmth, yet she still remained on edge. Weylin eyed the stranger.

"But firstly, what is your name? Or shall I just refer to you as 'Stranger Ironfist' for now?"

Paint the Town (Weylin)

She tensed slightly when his lips met her skin, but it was gone so quickly that Ray couldn’t be sure if it had even been there at all. Perhaps she had said something, but if she had then the wind snatched away her words too quickly for him to catch them.

She seemed to find the Kelp Bar an acceptable destination, and Ray took to the direction of the tavern with a brisk pace.

He looked at her when she asked his name, and try as he might, he could find nothing resembling an innuendo to comment on.

So he simply smiled and replied, “Ray.”

He couldn’t see very well in this light, or rather lack of any, but he had seen her take a hit that had knocked her to the ground. He had taken plenty of those in his time, but he was experienced; he knew not if she was as well. When they arrived, he’d try and take a look at her face to see if there was any more damage than bruising.

Paint the Town (Weylin)

As Ray lead the way, Weylin took several fast steps to keep up with him, her eyes constantly scanning the path they took. She could feel her vision blur, changing focus at every moment, shapes and shadows dancing in front of her eyes, moving at an alarming rate.

She was pleased when he answered her question, but any expression of gratitude would of been lost to the dark of the night. So instead she walked on, eyes darting about. She had lost nearly all the feeling in the left side of her face, if it was not for a dull, aching sensation that filled it. It was undoubtedly bruised, and when she reached up to touch it she felt her stomach twist when it touched the tender parts. The attacker certainly had a good swing on him, and it would of knocked most out and her too if it was not for raw adrenalin and the petty fights she got into when she was younger. She sighed and removed her hand from her face.

"Weylin," the Drykas glanced at him "That is my name."

She looked on ahead, giving a quick wince as she looked on ahead "How much further?"

A small silence stretched between them, and he began to wonder if she planned to supply her own name at all. When she did come forth with it, he nodded thoughtfully. Weylin.

“Nice name,” he commented. At her next question, he chuckled. “Not much at all. Few more blocks, maybe.” He glanced at her coyly. “And if you fall before we get there, I could always carry you.”

It wasn’t exactly that he was trying to seduce her… okay, maybe he was, but nevertheless, he could no more have stopped flirting with her than stopped breathing. It was an instinct, and odd as it may have been it was his brand of communication.

“So,” he said, trying to keep the cold and silence from enveloping them. “You new ‘round these parts? No offense meant, but it seems like most people’d want to stay away from this part o’ town. Guess that fella back there showed us why. Or’re you a West Streeter that just wandered in?”

Weylin carefully moved her jaw in an attempt to encourage the numbness to escape. The cold air so far had proven useful in keeping her aware and not lying on the floor unconscious and saved Ray the issue of carrying her.

"Yeah, new not one of those sharp dressers," she rubbed at the side of her face as feeling crept back in "They know how to swing around here."

She watched the darkness swirl around for a moment, but shook herself. She had to stay concious, at least for a little while longer. Once she had sat herself down, her mind could swim about all it wanted.

"Guess you're a local? Judging by the way back there," she cocked her thumb behind her "Solving things with fists and all. Or is that just how you say hello around here?"
