Talia Character Sheet
Physical Description At 5’ (though still growing) she stands rather small for a woman of her race and age. She is thin but unusually well muscled from years of hard work and training. Her skin is pale white, and her eyes a sharp amethyst color. She has medium sized sharp black nails (claws). They are not there full length because they were filed when she became a slave. Her bright red hair (from her human father) is shortened to just past her chin, as a sign of slavery, which is partnered by the tattoo of a chain that runs from around her neck, and then down spiraling around her right arm to her wrist. For clothes she has only her slave outfit: some tan linen wrapped around her chest, as well as a short, rough linen skirt and thin, cloth shoes.
Name: Talia, (Birth Name: Dra-Talia) Race: Mixed (Human father, Symenestra mother) Age: 15 Birthday: Season of Winter, Day 31 497 AV Gender: Female
Character Concept Personality – Her experiences have shaped her into a rather dark person, or at least that’s what she thinks. She certainly does have some darkness about her. She’s very cynical, and her limited humor tends to be dry. She’s very confident in her abilities, though much less so in her inner self. Guilt-ridden, she strives for redemption for crimes she was forced to commit, but now, having few other skills, finds herself falling back into her old ways, much to her own self-hatred.
She’s very closed off emotionally, and often comes off as cruel or uncaring. In truth, she cares very much, but fears her emotions since they’ve always been more trouble than they’re worth in the past. She also sucks at social skills, so it’s very difficult to get to know her, but once you do, she will be loyal for life. Highly intelligent and calculating, though she tends to be a bit reckless when her on safety is on the line
Ethics - What morals? Just kidding. Talia is very grey in her morality. She believes that some people deserve to be killed, and is willing to do the dirty deed herself when she believes they deserve it (i.e. they’ve committed/are committing serious harm to multiple people). She also has little problem with theft if the thief is in immediate need, and the victim won’t be truly harmed by the loss.
Likes – She loves a good fight, though not necessarily the harm done to other in the course of the fight (unless of course they deserve it). She also likes languages and books. One thing she particularly enjoys is being in control, since she’s rarely had that in the past. This is why violence is so attractive to her, since it is the simplest way to gain control. This is also why she is interested in the art of manipulation, and has read several books on human thought.
Dislikes – Herself. She hates most Symenestra, despite being part one herself, for what only a few of them did to her. She blames the entire society for even allowing slavery in the first place, and so of course, hates slavery as well. She despises rapists, and those who would harm children. She also hates weakness (mostly her own), and lack of control.
Character History Pre-Creation – Talia was born “Dra-Talia” to a Symenestra mother and human father. Her mother was once pretty high up in Kalinor hierarchy, but was scorned when she married and outsider, and gave natural birth to her own mixed race child. Her parents ignored societal rules, so she spent much of her young life doing what she wanted: learning to fight, and practicing dance. She also spent plenty of time learning languages and the history of the land, but when Dra-Talia was six, her parents came into additional conflict with a larger, wealthier, and more powerful Sumac web, and as a result of the ensuing power struggle, her parents were killed.
Dra-Talia’s life was spared, and she was taken as a slave by the foremost members of the Sumac Clan. Her hair was shorn, and she was given a chain tattoo from her neck to her right wrist as signs of her enslavement. Her owners often referred to her only by her derogatory half-blood name, Dra. At first she was made to do menial tasks, but soon her owners, Voroku and Sarissa, took notice of her physical and acrobatic skill, and decided to renew her training, but with more vigor, this time focusing only on the physical, and using an outside Expert trainer to help them. Soon she was skilled enough to start doing their dirty work, and they used her for political maneuvers and power plays. She made her first kill at eleven, when her Dovna (master) Voroku wanted a political seat that was already taken.
As mere property, Dra-Talia was often abused at her owner’s whim. To ensure, she would not have children and therefore be unable to do their bidding, her owners forced her to drink an herb that made her infertile. By the time she was a teenager, she was a full-blown assassin, and had killed countless people, both Symenestra and other races, on orders from her owners. It wasn’t until she was fourteen, that she started to gain womanly features, and her Master started to notice her in new ways. A week before her fifteenth birthday, Voroku took her by force. This was too much, so the day she turned fifteen, Dra-Talia left, taking some money, a few essentials, and her father’s knife, and leaving behind her derogatory title. Wanting to get far away from her past, she bought passage on a ship that carried her across the sea, before coming upon Sunberth.
