80 day of Spring Year 510 AV

Taithrosa stepped out of the temple wondering what exactly he was doing. He hadn't really thought about it much he just knew he had to do something with this excistance he was given. From the conversations he had previously had with Caelum it sounded like many of there kind were isolationist, and beowned there fate.

The fallen son of Leth also mored his lost home, but he had always been active while alive and there was a reason he was a son of Leth, he believed in change, and again while this was dramatic he still would roll with it. He was glade though to be here around Rak’keli's people.

He did remember that he had always had a devotion to healing and its Goddess. He could remember at least three lifetimes were he served as a healer or doctor of some sort. Unfortantly he could only really draw the memories from his last life time and most of those had to deal with the early training he had recieved.

He turned his eyes towards the south tower and began to walk in that direction. He had looked and the scared world and he could feel his soul calling out for the pain and missery. The more he traveled the more he was sure he was needed for his love of people and his healing. He suspected that his brothern would be amoungst those need the most help.

As it was he needed to seek help from one of his patron goddess.
Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity,
Find out the generation Where Gods began to be?
Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end?
Me thinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’
Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.”

Healer of Ages Past to Healer of Ages Present (Alice)

The south tower of the Opal Temple resembled a modest cathedral for Konti standards, although the white stone it was built of and the glittering ivory lines lacing its surface and curling around rows of round edged windows was a breathtaking view. Like with everything they did, the Konti enjoyed a certain degree of elegance and luxury, although they never forgot to add nature patterns. Pale green lines were woven into the ivory ones and formed leaves and plants, some familiar to Taithrosa, some not.

Upon entering the cathedral, he found that the circular room was nearly five times as high as it was long. Nevertheless Syna’s bright light touched every corner, descending from the countless glass windows at the top of the cathedral. A small colored stone statue of Rak’keli resided at the opposite wall, the gracious and modestly dressed Goddess being surrounded by candles and the pleasant scent of burned herbs. Along the side walls several cushions and chairs were situated for those who sought guidance and advice from the resident priesthood.

Indeed, the next priestess wasn’t far away. A Konti, quite short and lithe and dressed in simple white and grass green robes, was busy collecting used candles and would soon replace them with new and long ones. While working, she was humming quietly to herself and shooting a glance up to the statue every now and then.

Sometimes the eyes of the Goddess seemed to move in the candle light … and the odd fact that Her face wasn’t lit by sunlight only amplified that effect.

Obviously the Konti priestess had noticed Taithrosa’s entrance, because a short while after she stopped humming to herself and continued to work in silence. Her chin-long, gently curled hair bounced a little with every move she made. To Taithrosa who had already seen many typical Konti in the streets of Mura, she appeared to feature a softer and more feminine form. But although she had to be aware of his presence, she didn’t address him or walk towards him. Instead she just let him do his business until he was ready to address her.

Taithrosa looked around the room his silver eyes nooding in approval at the beauty of the place. It was worthy of a goddess. His large body moved through the space between the front door and the statue of the goddess. As he approached he knelt on one knee and bowed his head in respect towards this patron goddess of healing.

His large form moved gracefully, which was surprising of one so large, but he didn't have any problems with just kneeling before the represantive statue of the goddess. He stood up and went to one of the chairs to the side of the room.

His mind then opened to prayer. Beloved Rak’keli I have come to here to seek you guidances. He said in the inner thoughts of his mind and in the celestial language. He might not be able to speak that holy lanaguege but he could still think in it. I have desided to dedicate my time during this life upon Mizahar to healing and trying to help both my people the Etheafal and the Akalaks as well as all who seek help. I have come here to relearn the art of the healer and the doctor. I pray for you help and if it be your will the knoweldge how I might earn you repect and your mark.

OOCThe 200th post for Rak'keli and you. ;)

The statue didn’t move – naturally – when Taithrosa showed his respect by kneeling down. If he had looked up to its face, however, he would have seen an odd reflection in its eyes that wasn’t supposed to be there. When crossing the large empty room to the next chair he felt as if eyes were staring a curious hole into his neck. Of course, it could have been the priestess, but the feeling was different and nowhere near a normal stare. Rather it resembled the acid yellow stare of a predator judging its prey.

Not that Rak’keli was considered a predator by nature, rather the opposite … but one never knew what the Gods had in store for the mortals. In Mizahar, they were the power behind the curtain, more often than not unseen and acting through their devout followers. The Valterrian had been the greatest exception in history. Nobody really knew much about the Gods except for their followers who often kept their knowledge to them.

When the words in the celestial tongue were voiced in Taithrosa’s mind, they ascended to the Ukalas, passed clouds and divine doors and locks and touched something that was bigger than every mortal wandering the surface of Mizahar. Taithrosa clearly knew that someone was watching him now, although that look was softer and more accepting than before. That someone silently listened to his prayer. After he had ended it stayed silent for another while.

Meanwhile the priestess had picked up her low hum and left the cathedral through a side door, obviously to get fresh candles to replace the worn ones.

Then a foreign voice answered, making its way into his head softly and subtly. Rather than causing shock and surprise, it conveyed a feeling of velvet warmth and friendliness, but also a calling vibrating in his mind. You will receive what you long for. Fallen child of Leth … I will mend your wounds and make sure that you can recover. But I also require you to give. Swear that you will never miss an opportunity to heal that which is damaged or broken. Swear that terms like friend or foe are of no importance for you, someone who has the true power to heal. You will and can heal, my child, you already possess a unique and precious gift … Just keep believing in yourself. Now think about it. You have already experienced in past lives how much of a burden the responsibility of a healer is. And then swear the oath if you are ready. The bodiless voice carried a demanding tone, as if it was urging him to think well and answer with self-confidence. It patiently gave him the time to consider his decision.

Apparently it was time for Taithrosa to make a decision and shape the future.

Taithrosa didn't even twitch and eyebrow when he felt as if someone was watching him. When one is told that a certian building was the home to a god. One didn't become surprised when one felt the presents of that goddess. His eyes remained shut as he listened to the voice answering his prayer. He was surprised to say the least, he hadn't expect such a direct and marvolus reply, but he was grateful for it none the less.

He had enought memeories left that he did know that it would be a long and hard process. He opened his eyes and looked up at the ceilings his mind lost in thoughts. He would be making a serious commitment, to heal what was broken. To offer aid to all, but that was so hard for him. He liked to help others and he wasn't scared of responcibility.

His silver eyes seemed to have a gleam to them, but it was most likely just a trick of the light. He understood thought what she was asking. He would be commiting his life to healing others and to services.

He stood up his leg muscles flexing as he moved from the chair and walked to kneel again before the statue. His eyes looking into the eyes of the statue. "Rak’keli, Mother of Healing, I wish to spend this time I have been given on Mizahar in ther seriveces of others. I promise to serve all people regardless of race, gender or my personal views of them. I will use what gifts you grant me to serve Mizahar. This I swear by the heavens and before your presences."

While Taithrosa thought about the decision, the voice seemed to linger in the air with its echo still present in the shadows between rays of light. It waited patiently … for him to accept or deny what She was able to give. Regardless of the decision, however, this one had proven to be interesting. To still care for others when one was completely and utterly lost – that was unique among his kind.

Then his deep Akalak voice filled the cathedral, mixed with the memory of Hers and became something bigger. For a few seconds silence covered the scene again, but then Her presence reappeared.

I acknowledge your oath. But you will get an opportunity to prove yourself worth of my blessing. Do not miss it, fallen child. While speaking that, the statue suddenly appeared to move, although no noise could be heard and no breeze from its massive body could be felt. Every movement conveyed a sense of otherworldly weightlessness. The Goddess descended from the base – the next moment her index finger silently touched Taithrosa’s lips. It felt cold, distantly cold, but velvet and caring at the same time.

One touch for the oath spoken in the past.

Then Her right hand – that seemed mysteriously translucent, despite being made of solid stone – wandered down to the spot right under his collarbones. When the moving stone met his skin, Taithrosa’s senses exploded with light and warmth, the grassy and refreshing feeling of a relaxing summer day.

One touch for the future services to come.

Under the Goddess’ hand a mark bloomed and lit the midnight blue skin. The opal sigil twisted and turned like a snake on his skin, yet radiating was warmth and light. After a while it calmed down and stopped moving. What was left was a swirling sigil of opal frozen in movement. Upon a closer look it even seemed to shiver and twist slightly …

When Taithrosa’s attention returned to the statue of the Goddess, he would find it at its normal place. Silently the Goddess had left Her dear vessel and left for the Ukalas where she would watch over her “fallen child” from now on.

The empty cathedral left the Akalak with nothing to do or say. At the square that connected the cathedral with the rest of the temple buildings, however, some kind of organized chaos had developed during his stay in the holy chamber. Konti women in white robes were hurrying about, calling elegant words – obviously with less elegant meaning – in Kontinese to each other.

Taithrosa looked up at the image of the goddess as she approached. Even having onces lived in the realm of a god there was something special and unique about being in the presences of a good with a mortal body. His body shivered with pleasure as his flesh was touched first on the lips and then below the collar bone. To feel the presences of the divine was a thrill to the body. He felt the mark moving becoming part of his skin.

He was breathing shallowly as he stood up noticing that the statue was back to its previous resting place. He felt a peace spread through his soul that he hadn't felt in a long time. He had some direction in his life. He smiled briefly at the warmth that apread through his body. His silver eyes looked down at the mark. Under his left collar bone at the top of his peck. Taithrosa didn't really believe in clothing so they were that fancy, so it wasn't hard to notice the mark between the open collar and the white on blue colloring. His little world of bliss only last a moment when he noticed the commotion around him.

He herd the muscial voices coming from the temple proper and he walked forward through the intervining space. He remembered well the goddess words and wondering if this was the future event. The silver eyed man walked in among the white robed woman. His seven foot hight and his dark blue skin stood out in stark contrast to the fair skinned woman around him. He paused and tried to polite get the attention of one of the busy women. Once he had succed he would ask in his deep voice. "What has happened?" He would then follow it up, his accesent a bit stronger after being in the presences of the divine. "How can I help."

Healer of Ages Past to Healer of Ages Present (Alice)

First the Konti didn’t seem to notice him at all, although their gazes wandered over his large figure as they rushed past him. Suddenly he found himself in the middle of agitation, something very rare for the peaceful and thoughtful Konti race.

Suddenly one of the women couldn’t avoid knocking against his shoulder, or rather his arm since she wasn’t tall enough to reach the former. While mumbling a Kontinese apology, she stopped and looked up to him. It was then that she noticed his curiosity and heard his words shortly after. First she blinked, confusing by the thick Akalak accent riddling his speech. Slowly she understood and shook her head in worry, casting a quick glance towards the others disappearing down the street towards the city center. “Ciela has gotten herself in trouble again …” she sighed, followed by an expression in Kontinese under her breath. “If you’re good at soothing others’ minds and know something about healing, come with us.”

The next second she was gone, picking up the basket that had sprung out of her arms earlier and following the other white-cloaked women down the street. If Taithrosa chose to follow the group, they would lead him at a fast pace through the peaceful streets and pathways of Mura, past blooming flowers and trees, although an atmosphere of worry and danger accompanied the healers at their way. Eventually they stopped in front of a large and elaborately decorated building with a dome-shaped roof and countless little balconies. A small crowd of people had formed at the front, arguing in subdued voices and looking up to the person standing at one of the highest balconies. Oddly enough, the person stood at the edge of the white balustrade while the wind played with her clothing and white hair which was slightly curled at the edges. Her eyes appeared to be closed, although that was hard to discern from the distance. Her body was relaxed.

Just then Taithrosa would remember that the building was called Pearl Divers Inn and owned and led by triplets who were fairly known and popular throughout Mura. So was the person at the balcony one of the triplets? Or a guest?

The group of healers from the Opal Order tried to call out to the girl in Kontinese, although she didn’t react to their sometimes soothing, sometimes stern tone at all. People tried to help, but obviously nobody was able to achieve their goal.

Taithrosa listened not exactly sure who Ciela was, but understanding that there was clearly a problem. He nodded his head, his black hair gave a brief bounces with the movement of his head. His silver eyes grew concerned. H followed behind the crowd having little problem keeping up with the konti women. His legs being significantly longer made it fairly easy to move quickly through the beautiful streets.

He did find the panicked air strange. These women clearly weren’t used to crisis in their peaceful town. His silver eyes were concerned and he hoped that everything could be taken care of. He paused out side the large Inn and looked up at the balcony. His silver eyes looked up his handsome face begin to express concern for what he saw.

A young woman was standing on the balcony and looked as if she was at peace and tranquility, but guessing by everyone’s agitation he was sure this wasn’t some young lady who happened to be looking over the edge. Taithrosa of all people understood the importance of not taking ones life. He was a fallen soul and understood that judgment stood at the other end. This judgment often could be cruel and it was best to live ones life to the fullest to avoid the worst of the to come judgment.

Here he had an advantage as he made his way through the crowd. If it came to it he would catch the young woman. He was in his Akalak form and stood a good to feet over the other women. His muscles were strong and his body dense. He leaned over to one of the white robed konti in the group. “Why is she trying to jump?” He asked quietly. He wasn’t sure what here reasons were, he was after all new to the city and while he had been told of the inn and suspected this might be one of the owners, he still knew little more.

He looked up his silver eyes wide. “Please young lady. You are important to those who live here in Mura. Please step back.” He said loudly in Common. His voice was deep but didn’t hold either the pleading or honeyed tones. His accent could be heard. It was a strange one. Many of the locals might assume it was Akalak, but in reality it was the accent caused by the fact that Taith thought in no mortal language but thought in the language of the heavens, and his tongue yearned to speak those sounds again, but was unable to form the words. It seemed to inspire one like the rise tones of music.

He stood there hope to be able to actually gain her attention or if need be he was ready to move to try and save her.

Healer of Ages Past to Healer of Ages Present (Alice)

Postby Alice on June 19th, 2010, 6:00 pm

With the arrival of the Akalak the atmosphere changed. His sturdy frame and deep voice radiated the authority and self-confidence of someone who knew what was necessary. Moreover, the Konti fell into silence and noticed that the group of healers had eventually arrived. The throng of people in front of the building slowly unwrapped. Customers who had tried to catch a glimpse of a soon-to-come sensation discreetly backed away and went to continue their business. Konti who had tried to help were now speaking with several of the healers who seemed to organize some kind of “rescue mission”. About three or four headed in the shadow of the inn, accompanied by a woman with shoulder-long hair that moved like she was familiar with the place. Obviously another one of the owners.

The person at the balustrade several feet over their heads, however, didn’t move. She was neither agitated nor relieved now that the voices grew fewer and calmer. She simply stood there, hair swaying in the wind, seemingly unperturbed by whatever words the Konti had used to cancel her plans.

When Taithrosa asked about the reason, he found himself side by side with the Konti who had already answered his earlier questions. Now she was basket-less and a thoughtful expression was plastered at her features. She barely turned her eyes from the person while replying: “She’s been strange for a couple of years now, but lately it’s gotten kind of intense. We believe that she’s been using magic too much. Overgiving. She’s a hypno.” The magical discipline of hypnotism was known for slowly tearing the users’ minds apart until they forgot where their own Djed ended and that of the others began. Even if Taithrosa wasn’t an expert in magic, he might know from rumors that overusing one of the disciplines – no matter which one – resulted in odd behavior.

But the part of him that was devoted to Rak’keli and healing didn’t believe that Ciela simply was a victim of overgiving. Although the Konti should know better, they perhaps didn’t see it because through the Timandre and Ulvalin families they had far more contact with magic than other races. Their calm and peaceful nature forbid to use their powers for any malevolent purposes which was why nobody had interfered yet and the excellent organization the women had established in Mura helped to keep the chaos and madness that came with it at bay. Still there had been incidents before. The Konti could accept magic as the sole reason for suicide.

Taithrosa, a foreigner, could not. There had to be more, a tiny voice in his head insisted.

Anyway, his calling didn’t show any visual effects to the person. Her lips probably moved, but it was hard to discern from the distance. Unheard words were released to the wind … and Zulrav collected them and locked them away with other eternal secrets. But then, suddenly, she tilted her head to look at the tiny people so far under her feet. Her eyes seemed to meet Taithrosa’s gaze.

For a brief moment he felt as if the Goddess’ hands were touching his shoulders from the back.

When he turned, however, he would only discover that the self-confident Konti with the shoulder-long hair stood behind him. “Have you come to help? Why, that’s very nice of you. I’m Eceli, one of the inn’s owners.” Instead of the usual smile, a quick glance was cast at the Konti up in the air. “Feel free to come upstairs and he—“ Suddenly her eyes widened.

The fragile figure moved. Very slowly her right foot slid forward, her arms stretched out as if she wanted to fly on Zulrav’s wings – the only problem was that, naturally, Zulrav wouldn’t care to carry her.

The situation clearly got out of hand. And what was the healer group doing?
