"Well... It needs to dry a little more before we add anymore colors..." Jesslyn murmured thoughtfully, seemingly trying to come up with a way on how to occupy her guest. "So, I have no idea what to do. Really my mind is blank... we could... no." Svasra stayed silent, and tilted her head slightly, as Jesslyn tried to think of something for them to do in the meantime. Absently, the woman ran over some short stories she might be able to tell. What ones where there that would only take a little while?

There was always the classical children's story of the three Kelvic polar bears and one oddly golden-haired Vantha. Svasra amused herself with the thought of telling such a story to a grown woman, describing the soup and the too warm beds. In her absent thoughts though, Jesslyn seemed to come up with a grand idea of how to occupy their time. She barely heard the girl's voice muttering, "Hmm.. maybe they should go..." Before a louder, "Here!" jerked her to the present where paint was flying towards her hair.

Svasra instinctively moved, though it was too late and paint lovingly splattered on her cheek and hair, a sudden cold touch in the warmth of the Arvinta. "Agh," she grumbled with a frown, wiping it off, though Jesslyn was much amused by her actions as she laughed. Laughing quietly herself, Svasra just shook her head, thinking that was the end of such childish behavior. Why she would think that was the end though when they were painting an entire picture with their fingers though would bring laughter for many memories to come. Of course it was not the end, and Svasra found herself with some more paint to color her pale complexion soon enough.

Svasra couldn't help but burst out into peals of laughter when she was startled by the second bout, barely able to hold herself up as the hilarity of the situation bubbled forth from her lips. "H-h-hey!" she managed to gasp out with a shred of dignity, quickly dunking her own fingers into the glob of paint to toss towards Jesslyn. "I t-th-think we should just p-pa-paint you!" Svasra said in between helpless laughter, flicking more of the wet paint towards her friend.

Jesslyn's laughter stopped for a quick second as a cold, wet, blotchy feeling dripped down her face. Jesslyn soon found herself on the flood in laughter. Jesslyn sure there was more paint on her clothes and in her hair now as Svasra continued her onslaught.

Jesslyn's fingers reached around on the floor when she hit a larger bottle. Not thinking twice Jesslyn pored some into her hands while tapping the ground. Finding Svasra's leg Jesslyn lunged and wiped her paint covered hand down the side of Svasra, "Oops." Jesslyn smiled sheepishly, "I guess your a better canvas."

Jesslyn could help but laugh as she flicked the rest onto the rest of Svasra. Jesslyn hadn't had this much fun with paint since before Sylvia became married to a husband who was a total sweetheart... but a serious mess.

The moment Jesslyn's laughter stopped, Svasra froze. Did she go to far? Perhaps Jesslyn didn't like the paint being flung at her? Was she angry? All of it whipped through Svasra's mind as she looked at her friend worriedly, a pit of anxiety beginning to manifest itself in her brain. The silence expanded like poisonous gas, and Svasra moved to apologize.

It was drowned in the onslaught of Jesslyn's giggles. It flowed quicker than snow during a blizzard, and was almost tangible as it slapped Svasra's concern straight off her face. Blinking in surprise, Svasra took a moment to feel relieved before joining, letting the bubbly mirth overtake her like a wave of childhood. When she was set off laughing though, Jesslyn took the moment and moved into mark Svasra once more.

A cold hand slid down her leg where her simple clothing worn within the Arvintas exposed it, and Svasra gasped in mild surprise as she looked down to Jesslyn's sly grin. "Oops. I guess you're a better canvas."
"You're about as sorry as the snow is warm," Svasra teased, patting Jesslyn's head - with her painted hand. "Oops," she said in mock surprise, "My hand . . . slipped." Another bout of laughter took Svasra before she could continue.

She didn't know how long it took to die down, or how much paint they got over each other, but Svasra finally began to suck in a breath in an attempt to calm herself. "D-" Giggle. "Aha, do you th-think-k the painting is dry?" she asked, periodically interrupting herself with a snort or stifled laugh. "I think we have painted it three times over though," she added with a quirky smile.

oocThank you! I love it too, Elysium made it for me. ^-^ I tweaked the coding so the font stayed black, and feel quite proud I figured out how to do it! xDD

No worries, sometimes there just isn't enough to write for a long post ^-^

Jesslyn staid in her position on the floor. She was crouched with paint covering her. At some point she had put lines under her eye's to make her look battle-ready. She thought over the painting and sighed. Plopping to the ground Jesslyn ran her hands on the ground, "I don't think we can salvage that."

Indeed there was no way they could fix it. Some parts were globs of paint that had dried, other sports, and some of them were the rest of some paints. It only had two of the colors that the woman had chosen and was overall was just a mess.

"You can keep it. I really won't have the luxury of looking upon it and having a memorable moment. Though all the new paint everywhere, the laughs, and the teasing remarks will remain up in here." Jesslyn tapped a brown paints covered finger to her temple only to pull it away when a wet feeling encompassed that area.

"Actually... I think we really do need to wash up now. I'm sure we both look like my floor and table as of now." Jesslyn held out a hand for Svasra to grab and help her up as she made a small laugh over their childish behavior.

oocOh jeez, I really apologize for the length of this one.

Jesslyn seemed to pause in thought, running her hands along the floor. "I don't think we can salvage that," she mused, and Svasra had to agree once she'd looked over to their piece of artwork. Globs had splattered over it, and went not only on the canvas but the rest of the house too. Chuckling quietly, she nodded, running a finger through one of the globs to create a streak affect through another. "You can keep it. I really won't have the luxury of looking upon it and having a memorable moment. Though all the new paint everywhere, the laughs, and the teasing remarks will remain up in here," Jesslyn said.
"Thank you, I'll hang it up in my house," Svasra said with a smile, nodding in appreciation. It was not the work of some Skyglow talent that made you stop and stare. Svasra would love this painting because of the memories that came with it. And, in its own sense, it was beautiful. She picked it up and moved it by the hearth that was spared from the paint fight, ensuring that any paint that might drip over the sides and onto the surrounding area was wiped off. She smiled at it for a moment before returning to Jesslyn who was still content to sit on the floor.

"Actually... I think we really do need to wash up now. I'm sure we both look like my floor and table as of now," she said as she reached out a hand. Helping the Vantha woman up, Svasra laughed lightly along with her.
"I think we should not only clean up ourselves, but the rest of your house." Pausing, she tightened her hold on Jesslyn's hand for a moment before releasing it. "Let me, it is the least I can do."

As Jesslyn stood Svasra gripped her hand a little harder and offered to help clean the house. While Jesslyn wanted to refuse and say it wasn't worth it she felt that maybe Svasra hadn't helped her enough. Jesslyn smiled and shook her head, " I have a feeling that no matter what I say your going to find a way any how." Jesslyn whipped her hands on her clothes and shuffled her way to the visible chair.

"How about... I try a story? While you clean yourself, or the house, which ever one comes first. I'll likely stay like this until it's time for me to get in bed." Jesslyn paused and stroked her chin, "Actually I might end up forgetting so I'll have paint on me until Sylvia get's here. Which is not a big deal."

Jesslyn clapped her hands together and then set them on her crossed legs. 'Looking' at Svasra with dull purple eyes. Jesslyn would love to try and make up a story. It sounded like fun... a lot of fun that involved her tripping over her words. A lot.

Completely correct, Svasra though in unconscious agreement to Jesslyn's claim. If she had to sneak it, this house would be spotless before Svasra allowed herself leave. "How about... I try a story? While you clean yourself, or the house, which ever one comes first. I'll likely stay like this until it's time for me to get in bed," Jesslyn suggested, adding she would most likely forget to wash herself. Not if I'm still here, Svasra grumbled silently.
"That sounds lovely," the woman said with a grin, nodding to her friend.

Svasra was not a huge cleaner, and only did enough so her parents didn't force her to move out. Keeping her bedroom in order, and the living room where the silent rules of the Havok-Minara household, along with any additional requests her parents came up with over the course of the days. She looked around herself for a moment, running over how to exactly go about cleaning up the huge mess they had made. "Alright, first get what can be used for cleaning."

Moving quietly, Svasra gathered the soap, and eating knife Jesslyn had. She figured she might be able to pry off some of the dried paint with the knife, and the soap would loosen the rest. Being inventive, Svasra took up the largest paintbrush she could find. She set all of these on the table, and gathered the bowl that normally held water to rinse off the brushes. "I'll be right back," Svasra said. "Let's start the story when I come back."

Ducking out of the Arvinta for a moment, Svasra hurried to fill the bowl with snow and melt it with her gnosis. She did this all mechanically, going over what could be done in her mind. If she assumed correctly, the larger blots of paint might be able to be pried off with a bit of water and the knife. The smaller bits should loosen if she went over with a wet paintbrush in soap, then a process of continually rinsing off the brush and going over it again just might work the same as repetitively rubbing with a cloth and rinsing that off. If it didn't, Svasra could always use a sock or something, as all of her things needed to washed as it was. Preferably though, she would rather not have to go home without socks on, since wearing boots and no socks was always a very unpleasant experience.

Svasra returned in a matter of chimes, closing the door behind her. She smiled at Jesslyn and set to work, first mixing a bit of the soap with the water, then painting the solution over a bit of paint to loosen it - to be scraped off with the knife when it was the right texture. "So what story do you have in mind?" Svasra asked as she carefully scraped at the paint, going layer by layer as to not ruin the floor. When she suspected she came close to the floor, she reverted to the paintbrush in which she brushed over a couple times - rinsed, tapped the brush on the edge, and repeated.

oocI was thinking after Svasra was done cleaning, we might wrap up this thread? Unless you had anything else you wished to accomplish within it. (:

Overcoming Suspicions [Jesslyn]

Jesslyn nodded her head with a new giddy excitement as she thought over all the stories and such she had heard or gone through. She was half tempted to explain the life of her but she felt that was... boring. 'What... about Klide. Yes. Klide will do.'

Jesslyn crossed and uncrossed her hands several times before Svasra asked, "So what story do you have in mind?" Jesslyn's leg began to bounce up and down as Jesslyn gave a nervous smile, "Well it's actually kind-of one about someone I knew. I don't know if he's famous or well known but to my family he's the talk of the table sometimes."

Jesslyn cleared her throat and tried to stop her leg but it wouldn't stop. Jesslyn narrowed her eyebrows at it but was reminded of Svasra when she heard the sounds of cleaning. Jesslyn couldn't see her as she was just out of her vision.

"When I was a little girl there was a boy named Klide that lived only a couple family's down. He too was a Whitevine. Klide is only about three years older than I am but he was always treated as a prodigy even before I started to learn anatomy." Jesslyn paused and tired to pick up her words and form a story.

" He..." Jesslyn paused and nervously bit her lip, " He used to leave the Hold for days at a time and then come back with small gifts for a lot of the people." Jesslyn somtime's wished people could see the dreamy look she would love to show, "Many people were given items. But some given more... precious things."

Jesslyn willed her cheeks to stop heating, " I remember a very precious little 10 year old girl receiving a flower as soft as a lambs ear and she got it every time he left and came back." Jesslyn smiled at the memory. She wanted to glance at the spot that a painting hung that reminded her of those flowers but she was nervous.

"Then one day when the girl was about 14 the boy stopped giving her the flower. He actually stopped talking to her and being in her company." Jesslyn couldn't stop the little catch that appeared in her voice. "The little girl slowly became sad and by the time she reached of age she no longer wanted to be anything else but an Icemaiden. Klide had stolen her heart and replaced it with all the flowers.

" The girl moved and continued to do what she could to stay known and happy but ever in her mind lingered the thoughts of Klide, who had caught her with a flower." Jesslyn could feel herself wanting to cry but her eye's would never allow tears to fall.

Jesslyn didn't know if she wanted to continue the story. It was personal and she was sharing it with a new friend. Jesslyn didn't know, though she heavily thought against it, if Svasra would go and tell Klide of Jesslyn hopeless crush. But she continued anyway, "The little girl still visits the Hold of the boy when she hears that he has left in hops that when he returns so will the flowers.

"But no word, no flower, and no boy have ever been in the sights of the little Icemaiden." Jesslyn didn't feel satisfied with the story. So many things were missing. Like how Klide had taken her first kiss, had shown her the beauty of someones face, and even held her when Jesslyn didn't have a friend and had, had an argument with her parents.

Jesslyn gave a bright smile to Svasra but she failed, it couldn't be helped anyway, to cover her saddened eyes.

OOCsounds plenty fine to me.

"Well it's actually kind-of one about someone I knew. I don't know if he's famous or well known but to my family he's the talk of the table sometimes." Svasra paused in her cleaning - if that's what it could be called, in all reality she thought of it as 'soap painting' - and looked to her friend. Jesslyn was jostling her leg absently, smiling nervously. A boy that's the talk of the table? This will be a good story, indeed. Settling to sit on her shins, Svasra watched Jesslyn's expression when she started quietly, "When I was a little girl there was a boy named Klide that lived only a couple family's down . . . "

Letting the story mingle in the background, Svasra begun to clean once more. She peeled off the top couple layers of a spot of red, painted on some soap, rinsed off whatever actually came off, brushed the paint on her pants and tried again. After a few minutes of this - which wasn't going quite as well as she planned, as nothing would get that last bit off, as it would just turn runny and create a pale puddle of color - Svasra hesitated to interrupt Jesslyn. Instead of asking for a cloth, since she didn't see one, Svasra just took her sock and used it. She would just wash it when she got home, and it wasn't as if she went running around with dirty socks so she deemed it an alright replacement for a cloth. She refrained from humming and strained to concentrate on both getting a tough green patch off and the tale Jesslyn told.

Svasra suspected this wasn't as much of a story, as it was a personal experience. She looked towards Jesslyn who stared ahead blankly, with an aura of nervousness, eyes filled with a sense of depression Svasra wished she could understand. "Then one day when the girl was about 14 the boy stopped giving her the flower. He actually stopped talking to her and being in her company." Slowly, Svasra understood, and nodded to herself. The Tale of a Broken Heart. Wondering why the young boy suddenly stopped coming, Svasra stopped cleaning to hear the rest of the story. "But no word, no flower, and no boy have ever been in the sights of the little Icemaiden," Jesslyn finished.

There wasn't much Svasra felt she could say after such a story. Did Jesslyn want Svasra to acknowledge her suspicion that she was the little girl? Or did she purposely evade using her name in wariness of Svasra's own motives? Though she would never tell Kilde, having learned a while ago the price of thinking secrets were just being dishonest, Svasra understood why Jesslyn would be cautious. When Svasra's gentle gaze finally met Jesslyn's, the sense of sadness in them was too deep to stay silent about. Rising, the Vantha woman walked over and lay a hand on Jesslyn's shoulder. "It doesn't sound like the story was finished," she murmured. "Perhaps, one day, you'll tell me the whole thing," Svasra added after a pause, her tone understanding and friendly.

The pain of a lost love. Nothing unfamiliar for many young woman, as they grew and experienced, and fell hopeless in love with a boy who would not - or could not - return it. Svasra wished she could comfort the Skyglow, though she knew not what to say or do that might elevate the wound she held. "Perhaps, the little boy, is waiting for the Icemaiden this time," she commented lightly.

Moving off, Svasra knelt to finish the spot she was on to move to the next one. "I am almost done this main area," she said in a much more carefree tone. Svasra scrubbed at the pink paint, and dunked the sock into the water to rinse it off. "I don't think the walls will take too long, though I was going to leave the table seeing as finding the spots we made today against the others would be impossible," Svasra said with a small laugh. She absently picked at a bit of paint over her gnosis. Looking over to the window, Svasra noticed the progression of the sun, and estimated the time. "It is almost dinner time, and my parents will wish me at the table soon," she noted, "You are welcome to join us, if you wish," Svasra added politely with a smile.

Jesslyn's mood instantly brightened at the prospect of visiting Svasra's Hold. She had always wanted to actually go inside the Snowsong Hold but never had the right reasons to go. "Would you really?" Jesslyn's eye's turned a slight purple before fading completely to grey-ish silver.

"That would be an honor. And Sylvia isn't going to be around here anyway so what's the worth in letting this opportunity go by? None I tell you." Jesslyn smiled and stood. "Would you like some help?"
