Race: Human of Drykas and Inartan Descent
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Birthday: 15th of Winter, 495 A.V.
Birthplace: Endrykas, Cyphrus

Appearance: Unlike other Drykas, Vallora tends to wear simple clothing - nothing too colourful. It had been her habit from a long time ago - a result of her wish to not attract attention to herself. Still, she wears the color blue a lot to signify that she was a member of the Sapphire Clan.

Her hair is generally let loose along, yet still decorated with small intricate and complex braids adorned by blue glass beads. Taking from her father, Vallora is a dark-haired maiden with gray-blue eyes. She rarely wears makeup, therefore giving her a slight young and fragile look. Her features also complimented each other, giving her an elegant but modest beauty. One would have expected a Drykas to be fit and tanned - Vallora was only one of those things. For an unknown reason, her skin seemed to have settled in a pale hue, but that was not because of her lack of time outdoor. In fact, she had spent a lot of time outside - riding, traveling, hunting and a lot more. Those particular activities formed her body well, making her a slender and well-formed young woman who stands at 5'5". Truthfully, it was not a hard task for Vallora to disappear in a crowd of people, for her presence is not what you would describe as memorable. Still, if someone did notice her, they would note that she moved with lithe and graceful movements - almost like dancing.

As for her Windmark, it was drawn on her back, right on her shoulder blades. In addition to that, a matching tattoo decorated her torso, just under her right breast.

ImageBorn to the Salvari Pavilion of the Sapphire Clan, Vallora’s early life had been somewhat well. Or as well as it could be when her entire Pavilion was exiled from Endrykas – they were only welcomed during festivities and even then, they had to leave as soon as it was over. It had bothered the young Vallora and Xaven, her twin, but whenever they asked, their parents would never give them any explanation. As time passed, both siblings learned to accept their situation as it was.

Her mother, Hal'eka, was the only wife of the Salvari Ankal, Kaliro. Hal'eka used to be an Artisan of the Inarta. Vallora had never known much about her mother’s life before her marriage. All she could tell was that Hal’eka had met Kaliro somewhere in Sylira. Just like the topic of exile, her mother and father avoided to talk about it. It led her into thinking there was this big, mysterious secret her parents was hiding, but she could never tell what.

Life goes on as it used to. At least for a while.

During her tenth year of life, her family had discovered a terrible news. A rare disease had been lying dormant in Vallora's slight body. Healers of the Opal Clan tried their best to find a cure, but their effort was in vain. No one had seen a disease like such and they knew nothing of its true nature. The disease itself didn't show its symptoms frequently. Vallora still led a normal life – as normal as a life could be with a constant fear of a sudden pain.

Upon entering their adolescent years – much to everyone’s surprise – the two Salvari children received their respective Windmarks and became a full-fledged member of the Drykas. It seemed like The Seven Clans had decided to start accepting the Salvari Pavilion once more.

ImageJust about when everything seemed to be heading for the better, it went wrong. Kaliro and Hal'eka disappeared. After a while, it was undeniable that their disappearance meant death. The reality struck both the Salvari children hard and it forced her young brother to take the position of an Ankal of their pavilion. Being a Web Mage, Vallora had left her home with for a while in search for information. Days she had spent all by herself, encountering dangers and disastrous events. Her brother was frantic when he found that his sister was gone and chased after her. Together, they found out that their parents had been murdered by some Cyphrus Leeches, who feared of being discovered - which they disposed of quickly. At least that's what they told everyone. Only the siblings knew what truly happened. No one even noticed that the Salvari Pavilion left the Sea of Grass for nearly a year.

After their parents’ deaths, however, they were suddenly allowed to freely enter Endrykas. After communicating through the Web, The Seven Clans had finally agreed to start everything anew and invited the young Salvaris.

It was a new beginning.

ImageBeing a part of an exiled Pavilion, Vallora is used to being lonely and guarded - she was not what you will call friendly. She learned how to hide her emotions and kept a neutral expression since she was young. Her only friend was her brother because everyone avoided them. The other Drykas had always treated them differently and they always talked behind her back. She knew that most people think that her Pavilion was bad news and to be avoided. To make it worse, ever since they found out about her sickness, everyone was convinced that the Salvari Pavilion was cursed. Vallora doesn't mind it too much, though deep down, she longed for a friendship.

In all her life, Vallora had also developed a general distrust of everyone. Her experience of being singled out has distanced her from relationships with anyone outside her own Pavilion. It is hard for her to really trust someone, for there will always be echoes of doubts in her head. She always expected people to turn their backs on her eventually. Occasionally, she would make an effort be friendly with people who did not have anything against her, especially who engaged with her first. As time goes during her time in Endrykas, Vallora learned to be more social, thanks to the coaxing of her friends and family. She still won't start a conversation with anyone who was not close to her, but she won't shy away when the situation presents itself to her.

Those who knew her well will discover a new part of her. The part where she blurt out what she was thinking and share her emotions. Vallora is actually quite talkative if she wanted to and she was curious enough to ask many questions - which she will only sound to a person she was comfortable with. Gaining her trust would be no easy task, but she is loyal to those dear to her.

The sickness Vallora suffered hadn't made that much impact on her life - surprisingly. Some days, she could suffer from extreme pain to blinding numbness and the next she could be as healthy as everyone else. It didn't disable her permanently in any way as long as she kept consuming her medicines. That should've made her more careful with her body, right? No, her sickness actually led her into being a reckless and impulsive individual. The way she thinks was that since there was no way of knowing when her time will be up, she’s willing to do anything crazy just for the sake of it – Vallora knew she could never really live if she simply stayed dormant in fear of death.

Despite all that, Vallora is a gifted Web Mage. Being a part of Sapphire Clan had given her the advantage of strong intuition and magic in her blood. Kaliro - who quite a skilled Web Mage - had also thought both of his children well, even though it was clear that Vallora is more skilled than her brother in the art of Webbing. She was always the one to set their Pavilion's security, even before Kaliro's death.

Vallora Salvari

Postby Vallora Salvari on May 11th, 2013, 2:20 pm

Family

ImageXaven Salvari
Xaven Salvari is Vallora's twin brother. He is about two minutes older than her sister. As the older brother, he had always been somewhat protective over her little sister and after their parents' death, he is more driven to keep Vallora well.

During their childhood, Xaven had always been more impulsive than her sister. He was adventurous and curious and wanted to learn about everything. With his headstrong attitude, he had always been driven to be a warrior. He practiced swordplay and combat when he could, but between helping out to support the family and handling his responsibilities, he did not have a real chance. The dream was gone completely when Vallora found the deaths of his parents. He was forced under a pressure he had never wanted. It changed him. He became more grounded and clear-headed, always trying to make the best decision for their pavilion.

Image
Kaliro Salvari (Deceased)
Kaliro Salvari was Vallora's father and the former Ankal of the Salvari Pavilion.

The Salvari Ankal had been a picture of a great leader to his family. Living their lives as exiles were not easy - people were less likely to help them - but Kaliro made sure his family pulled through and have a decent life. He did not do such a bad job. If anyone would've described Kaliro, it would be compassionate, but stern. He did not tolerate mistakes, but he understood that people make mistakes. Being an Ankal requires him to do so - as so does being a father. Most people would have also say that he used to be a proud mage of the Drykas. His aptitude in magic and webbing was valuable to Endrykas.

ImageHal'eka Salvari (Deceased)
Hal'eka Salvari was Vallora's mother and an Inarta.

The Inarta had met Kaliro during her teenage years and they fell in love almost immediately. Even with her parents disapproving, Hal'eka had married the Drykas anyway and left to life with him in the Sea of Grass. It was hard for her - leaving as an Avora in Wind Reach to struggling to survive in the wilderness of Cyphrus was no easy transition. Still, she slide in the situation quite well. Since her marriage, Hal'eka had never returned back to Wind Reach or contacted her parents. She still messages her younger sister, Helewyn, but her communication with her family stops there.
