[The Silyran Fields] An Unique Shade

"Kirin," He backed away, trading barbs with another was fine, but this shifted mood fell dangerously outside his comfortable conversation range. This could indeed hardly even be considered conversation. Scarlet, or whatever she wanted to be called seemed intent on pressing for him, but the angle could not yet be determined. It was hard, impossible even, to believe that a chance meeting of a few minutes would have the woman undressing for a smith. It was harder to believe that she wasn't looking for something.

The backwards retreat was brought to an abrupt halt as his staff caught against a large rock. He hadn't noticed it in his haste, nearly letting it be the downfall of his balance. Even if he didn't fall, it certainly did put an end to whatever distance he had tried to put between the two. Now there was precious little to fall back on aside from his eternal pessimism.

"Tell me then," Kirin flustered more, the woman brushing dangerously close up against him. This sort of contact was a dangerous weapon, his words reciting line for line the demands of one of his favorite characters. It wasn't an uncommon story and Kirin only hoped this woman had by chance never heard it before, "What would a gorgeous woman like yourself hope to gain from this on first meeting, a first meeting with something like me."

Kirin chided himself for not changing the lines in the slightest. They had originally been bespoken to a princess by a Pycon in the story, and he immediately knew they didn't fit perfectly here. He was giving her all together too much credit, but he really didn't have the capability to change the lines on the fly, not without risking it turning even worse. Not that this could actually get any worse.

Scarlet had immediately arched an eyebrow inquisitively, as she thought Kirin's phrasing to be out of place. "Something?" she hastily rasied the question. "With something like you? You almost got me fooled into thinking you're actually flesh and bones." Scarlet could not help but display a slightly amused grin, as she slowly kept unbuttoning her shirt, almost halfway through by now. "... And also I honestly thought this was what you wanted." she resumed her trail of thought, "...a woman to, perhaps willingly, do it for you... was it not?" she wraped up her little cunning speech just as she finished unbuttoning her shirt, which was now loosely hanging over her cupped chest.

A sly smirk was displayed upon her lips as she drew increasignly closer to him, subtly reaching forward with one hand, trying to at least get her fingers to brush up against his."You'll have to be a bit more specific if you're to make yourself understood... Kirin."

The warmth of the morning's sun was finally starting to make itself of note, the chilly breezes becoming more bearable as the wind shifted. Regardless, Scarlet still seemed to have trouble in adjusting herself to her featherless form, and began ever so slightly to shiver in her boots. Her intentful gaze was fixed upon Kirin, trying to maintain a relentless eye contact with her newly found prey, at the same time gaining an overly seductive aura both in her appearance and stare.

Hook, line and sinker... This one's a safe catch.

[The Silyran Fields] An Unique Shade

Now, right now, was the first time Kirin truly looked at Scarlet. Up until now he had evaluated her as a predator stalking, watching, and judging her current prey. He had been waiting for the moment she would pounce or engage him in some way. It wasn't hard to imagine with the wild nature she had been presenting, but that seemed to have changed. For whatever reason those wild traits were dulled. In the current light, her tanned frame bathed in golden radiance, Kirin would have been hard pressed to find a reason why she didn't deserve the gorgeous title he had bestowed upon her in haste.

No, he wasn't that type of man. Or, rather, he didn't think he was. All those stories, all those characters he liked, they didn't do something like this. Kirin shifted his weight again, his staff was still on the ground but no weight was supported by it. At the very least, he hoped to make his next rhetoric stronger and more convincing. The words this time, took longer to be prepared. They had to be perfect and without room for error.

"Three times," Kirin's staff was quickly moved from it's normal place and he placed it between the two, forcing the woman in front of him back a step. The eyes, the dulled eyes of a smith, which had been previously warming to her form, were forced back to a familiar position. He looked at Scarlet as an appraiser would value the worth of a blade. Though he had no comparison place to value her, and would place far to high a value on her, the look would be dead enough to give the words merit, "If we were to meet three more times, by the grace of whichever god you prefer, and you still professed these intentions by the end of the third meeting. Then, I would happily take your advances as earnest and this meagre smith would happily accept them."

Once again, his words were almost entirely borrowed from the lines of another of his stories. This time, though, he took the time and effort to place smith into it. In the end, he was happy with what he said. Kirin wasn't sure what game she was playing, but he doubted he would ever meet her again, let alone three more times. There were bound to be easier prey than a conflicted smith.

With his words said, Kirin picked up his feet and turned away. The day was still early and he had no idea what he should do next. It was certainly going to be hard to concentrate on a path when his heart was pounding harder than his footsteps against the fields.

[The Silyran Fields] An Unique Shade

Scarlet began buttoning her tunic once again. It was a complex game: One needed to know when to back down or push forward in order to obtain their goals. This time, it was a time for waiting. She would make sure the three times would come by, but for now she needed to make everything look as hapchance. Of course, in time she'd get back to him. There was something about Kirin she couldn't quite put her finger on. For now, he would just be set as 'fun prey' in her priorities.

Once the man took his distance, Scarlet began making her way slowly back to Syliras. Following his footsteps, she began humming an innocent tune as the sun was rising to her side. Cold weather was not going to be much of an issue, since the day was announcing itself very sunny. Maybe another hunting session was in order somewhere in the afternoon.

This time, however, she would pick a better place to shift. Somewhere off the beaten track, where nobody really cared to venture. One final sigh led her back through the gates of Syliras. Ten miles in any direction, nowhere to hide.
