A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Fear and Naivety in Ravok

The sounds of water shattering made it's way from one ear to the other while an ambiance of distant mumbles from a series of crowds all talking about everything under the sun and at the same time nothing pervade the docks of Ravok. The boating city may of lacked any whispering winds or thundering rain to fill the atmosphere one may get as standard in the seasons but it substituted this with the splashes of boat paddles digging into the omnipresent water of the canals and spoken, but filtered thoughts of the typical inhabitants.

It's easy to blend in Ravok; it encourages it with full force and has no issue smashing people into a pulp to be added to dilution of repetitive colors that made up it's population, as long as you praised Ryshol and looked human enough there was no real reason to give a damn unless you did something stupid. In this case for once some could consider Edion lucky, he was different without a doubt but he also born and bred within the expected guide lines of this place and as such could avoid really being noticed the majority of the time, this was one of those times.

Edion had been sitting idle on the sides of the docks without a great deal of movement, his arms had been laid besides his frame with their wrists meeting the floor and his stomach partially bent like that of a doll being put on a shelve. The only part of his body that seemed able to move at this point was the set of poisonous pools others called his eyes which vibrantly swung from one person to the next with enough vigor that you'd swear the brain of an excited dog had taken hold of them.

His form had left a slight slap of water around him both on the wall and floor he sat upon, the damp wood was on the way to being bone dry once more and even his clothes had started to return from damp and dark to their natural shades as the final drips absorbed from the liquid disintegrated from his being although the smell of salt water mixed with a minor wiff of garlic and urine still sat upon him. He sat there, knowing in this state he had to be alone...playing the sympathy card was his best bet at getting any sort of social contact right now...maybe they'd mistake him for a homeless bum who had fallen into depression...with that idea rattling in his brain he started to work those eyes into a slight curl and firmly filled his head with enough thoughts strong enough to sap that normal glint from his eyes which rendered them somewhat colorless and hopeless in opposite to his usual self, his lips now a bit more tightly pursed.

Edion would look for shelter soon he had agreed with himself...but frankly he was too embarrassed to go into any sort of establishment like this...he still had some sort of pride, even if he was far from his true identity in acting like the depressed bum he was now. The sunlight, people talking and the position he was in was enough to pre-occupy his mind for the moment from his usual irrational phobia.

Fear and Naivety in Ravok

Postby Chrysanthemum on May 16th, 2013, 8:17 pm

Date: 513 AV, Spring 49 (Character is around 4 weeks of age)
Location: The Docks (near the outside of the NHC)

A rather small girl wandered close to the edge of the canal, her long fingernails tapping each pole she passed, out of nervous compulsion. Her black combat boots were streaked with dirt and her dusty brown hair was tangled as if a bird nested on her head. Many could have spotted this girl around alleys and streets but no one really stopped to question her. She sprouted a cheeky grin to every stranger that past her, even if they shot her down with a confused or disgusted glance. She was unusually giddy today, and not because the weather was nice. Perhaps it were because she decided on purchasing a small unit to live in since the last Inn she snuck into tried to kill her with mice traps. She insisted to herself that they didn't know she was a kelvic and believed she were regular vermin. That was her own opinion.

Hopefully, they wouldn't grow suspicious of her child-like features and prevent her from living in their tiny cubical homes. They might ask where her parents are and it wasn't long ago that she had escaped her parents sharpened claws. They had tried to eat her out of hunger, who could blame them? Chrysanthemum surely couldn't.

Stopping herself from touching another pole, her fingers clasped around her pendant. She fingered it as she now studied a bright-haired young man who looked as if he was pleading to her. He looked hungry and glum, maybe he lost his family too. Her smile broadened as she lazily skipped over to him, her black dress fluffing up like a mushroom top from the light disturbance in the breeze up her toned legs. She couldn't stand the fact that he looked so drained compared to everyone else. No one deserved that! Then again, she did thirst for someone to talk to anyways.

"Excuse me, sir, I couldn't help but notice," Chrysanthemum whipped her head to the side as if she heard a loud noise but returned her gaze to the stranger. He probably would burst out laughing at her strange actions, like a few children did as she wandered a few streets away from here. "That you look quite sick, do you need help? Sir." She added. The nervous girl removed her hand from the necklace and thumbed the hems of her dirty dress. Most people would stutter or maybe blush in embarrassment for possibly insulting the sickly man with puppy-dog eyes, but she didn't really notice or care.
