Alori awoke that morning to the sweet and awkward squawking of her gyrfalcon, Skye. It was a normal thing with him, the rapture was on a set timer it seemed, and he woke her each and every morning around the same time. This normally bothered the teen, but on this day she was happy to get up. It was market day, and Alori was thrilled to see it again. Shopping was one of the things she enjoyed most and now that she had enough pinions to really go out and spin, the Avora wouldn't be held back.

She hopped out of bed, and reached into her rations pouch for Skye, and took out a few bits of dried meat to feed him. The gyrfalcon snatched them up quickly and hoped for more. It was a cute sight for the teen, to turn around and see her pet with his beak wide open and eyes popping. "Ah..you." she replied and reached into the pouch to take out a few more pieces to feed him.

"There's no way this could be that good, you're just greedy, and you're gonna get fat."

Skye ignored Alori's teasing and dinned on his bits of meat happily. With the rapture silenced for the moment, she slipped away and moved to her wardrobe to find something to wear. For some odd reason the sound of music started to play in her mind, and before she knew it, the girl was swaying her hips and rocking her shoulders about. Looking through her closet usually took a bit of time, but for some reason she seemed to decide on this quickly. She chose a light gray, tunic top that extended a bit further down her midriff than her Vinati. The pants that she picked were the exact opposite of the Brydas that she had. They were tights and squeezed her limbs and every curve in between.

Alori dressed herself and took a look in her mirror to get a full view of how she looked. She smiled, humming a few bars as she swayed her hips again and turned to dance across the floor. She moved back to her table and picked up her brush to do her hair. Once that was done, she brushed her teeth and grabbed her pinions to set out for a day of fun and shopping. The tiny Avora was thrilled, this was to be a fun and relaxing day, she could just feel it. But there was something, and she didn't realize it until after she stepped out of her apartment. Hadn't she done that before, hadn't she already lived that morning last Spring?

Alori could still remember that day, and those memories wouldn't fade any time soon, and even if it were to happen, she still had the guitar to remind her. "Oh come on, really? De ja vu? There's no way." she shook off the feeling and then headed down the steps to get to the market.

There was something funny about this day. Something Vira couldn't quite put her finger on about. It didn't matter, she decided; it was market day and Vira had big plans to just sit back and relax for the day. Do a little shopping, maybe buy some near gear for Tulaj; or some toys for the eagle hatchlings. She had a strong urge to maybe get a new bird from the aeries and start working with them or maybe replace some of the falconry gear that psychotic harrier had ruined. His unruly and obnoxious behavior really did her no good. She already knew many thought she was just a bad trainer; but they weren't the ones who knew the bird and knew that he was proficient in all that she'd taught him. He was just...crazy.

"Come on Tulaj, we're going to see Gaven today." She donned her sontav and gathered up the rest of the damaged gear, including both hoods, her jesse, and the weathered perch she sometimes took up to the nesting area to let him sit outside the aeries. He knew better than to pull his stuns in there. "If you behave, I'll take you down to the Bay this afternoon and you can hunt while I'm eating dinner."

The harrier gave her a chirpy sound and hopped from his perch over her door in the commonrooms to land on her extended arm, sharp claws obstaining from pinching her unnecessarily this time. Dressed in just her bryda and vinati, she headed out to market, the sun just beginning to peak upon the horizon and light the corridors with its bright, crimson glow. "Gonna be a pretty day, too, it looks like." She gave the harrier a scritch and headed for the couryard of the sky, not knowing what today might bring! Maybe a new friend. Who knows!

The market was busy as it always was, and it seemed no matter how early she arrived there it was always crowded. The only times that she could remember it not being crowded was when she was a glassblower and was manning Perith's tent. The Avora remembered those days fondly, the humid days in the hot shop where she spent bells around the ovens creating works of glass and then taking them out on market day. Once they had enough to work with, they would set up the tents either the night before, or very early that morning while no one else was around. Those early mornings were slow, boring, and the only time when the place wasn't busy.

Alori headed into the courtyard of the sky, already eying her favorite stalls. It was a good thing that most people set up their booths in the same place, or at least in the same areas, which made it easier to find them. The teen glanced towards the glassblower's both where she noticed that Perith had another Avora watching it for him. She headed over to take a look at the wares, but she didn't mention that she knew Perith. Instead, she talked glassblowing with the Avora and even gave them a few tips on how to improve and get rid of the air bubbles.

She left afterwards and continued to look around, there was food to buy, but there was also clothing, and she remembered that she needed to buy more arrows for when she went hunting. The little huntress wasn't the best at retrieving her arrows so many would only get one use from her, then she was off to buy more. Moving on her way, she noticed the stall where they sold rapture equipment and food. Alori had already gotten Skye new gear and a new cage, but she figured it was best if she got him more food for those early morning when she didn't take him hunting.

The crowds were thick and the collection of bodies strong to those not used to it. Thankfully, she was used to it! Vira wove her way through the throng, keeping the obnoxious raptor close lest he take an interest in biting someone as he was prone to do. She passed Perith's stall, only offhandedly looking at the glassware that was offered therein and headed on to Gavin's.

The gingers were out in force that day, the weather warm but not uncomfortable. It was also the first market day of the season and many had money to spend from the end of season earnings! Vira was really just saving up for a new bird, but she needed to get a few preliminary supplies besides her regular stock first. She'd had her eye on a particular young peregrine that Gavin had purchased from a trader back in winter. The little falcon was still mostly untrained and she'd been trying to convince the man to hold the bird for her as long as he could. At least the falconer had been working on getting the bird accustomed to humans since it had been pulled from a nest prematurely. Rescues were always risky business for birds.

As the redhead reached the masters stall, she noticed another heading that way two, the young woman having been walking ahead of her from Perith's stall too. "Morning." She said amiably once she reached the stall, looking for the perch she needed. The falcon being untrained, she'd probably have to keep him up in the main aeries for a while until a cage could be afforded. Still, 200 pinions was a lot out of her budget. While browsing the various perches, Vira looked to the woman again, she who was Alori. "Needing gear too? Gaven sells the best, doesn't he?"

Alori wiggled her hips a bit from side to side as she stretched her legs out. She still wasn't used to wearing clothing so tight and she didn't see how foreigners did it so much. Others who saw her dressed this way thought nothing of it as many people from outside the city dressed the same, and as far as they knew, she wasn't from the city either. One thing they did find odd however, was that her Nari was perfect, especially for someone who wasn't born in the city, so they thought.

"Oh! That is just too cute." Alori exclaimed as she looked at a particular hood made for a rapture. It was a normal sized hood, made for the bigger of the breed like Skye was. But what was interesting about it was that it was designed to resemble an actual hat. "That is adorable, it looks like a tiny little fez." the teen giggled as she talked to the stall owner.

Gaven smiled and nodded to the girl, seeing an opportunity to make another sell. Alori had come to him the season before and spent a lot for pinions of her gyrfalcon and he knew that he had a repeat customer now. "Go on and get it. It's a bit more fancy than the other you got from me. I'm sure that Skye would love it."

"No, no I can't. I really can't." The Avora refused and shook her head. "He's already spoiled enough from all the stuff I bought him last time. All the stuff that you talked me into getting." she added while pursing her lips and narrowing her eyes. Gaven gave a soft chuckle, knowing that his tactics had been found out. "There was something else I wanted to show you." he commented and started to look around behind his booth. He really couldn't help himself and Alori couldn't fight the compulsion to spend and pamper her pet.

"Fine, show me one thing and them I'm off." she stated and placed her hands on her hips. The tiny girl turned slightly when she heard a voice and looked to the woman that was now standing beside her. "He really does have great stuff, and he won't let you leave until you buy something." There was a sudden chuckle from behind the counter again, and Alori licked her lips with a soft giggle. "See....he's know it's true."

The ginger laughed, nodding as the falconer searched for what he wished to show Alori. She had found a couple of perches that might do, to which the albino chirped his apparent approval after he'd taken a step off her arm and onto the glass one she currently considered. It had a black colored core with thick leather wrapped around the perch bar and a stone base for support. The only problem was it was made for an eagle, not a harrier, though Tulaj was big enough to use it.

The perch could more than double as a cage or outdoor perch, and it was nice enough...

Vira looked up when Gaven popped his head back up, but he'd busied himself with Alori for the moment. The chiet returned to her admiration of the perch. Though glass, the leather gave it a natural feel to the raptors feet and was strong and sturdy enough to support the larger birds it was made for. Only once the falconer had finished with Alori did Vira speak up again, nodding to the back of his stall.

"Hey, Gaven do you still have that peregrine I saw last season?" He always got a huge influx of birds during early summer, and now with the new trade system established in Wind Reach, he could even get birds from all across mizahar.

"Aye, he's just there." He motioned with a hand to some of the caged birds, these smaller species untrained or too delicate to be left on just a perch like the bigger hawks and eagles could. "An' he's still for sale, though I may mark him down a bit. I know how much you've been admiring him, Lavira."

"Well, he's a very lovely falcon, Gaven! But I don't really have the pinions to maintain him right now. And I need to get a new bryda. I had this weird feeling this morning that I might need a new set this season..." She shrugged casually. "Would it be alright if I looked at him more closely?"

Gaven shrugged and smiled, his normally abrasive nature subdued in the presence of those who clearly loved their birds. While he fetched the little falcon, she turned to Alori and donned a friendly smile, offering her right hand in affiliation. "I don't much go for fancy with Tulaj. He's...special and doesn't do well with nice things. I'm Lavira." Market Day brought the best out in the teen, moreso than other days.

Alori looked to the bird that the woman had with her and smiled. She could actually see Skye in something fancy, but she knew that it wouldn't work. The gyrfalcon was a wild one and was always pecking at something. She had to hide her glass beads from him because he thought they were food and tried to eat them. It got worse when he started picking them up in his beak and slamming them on the table to get to, what he thought, was the goodness inside.

"My gyrfalcon, Skye, he would look so cute in this, but I know he'll make me regret buying it. So that's a no." she said while looking to Gaven with a smile. The man nodded then continued to look around for whatever it was that he wanted to show her.

While he looked, Alori turned back to face the woman and extended her hand and shook the woman's. "I'm Alori. He's taking his time huh?" she added with another glance to Gaven and then clasped her hands together and raised them towards her mouth as she pretended to yell into them.

"Hurry up, you have customers!"

Gaven returned and scratched his head. "Well, not sure what happened with it. I thought I had it. Maybe it was sold already?" he generally looked lost and couldn't recall where he had replaced it. Alori simply nodded and continued to look at what he did have, but knowing that she really didn't need to buy more.

"You go ahead, I'm just looking."

Grinning again, the woman nodded. "But he knows what he's doing so I don't put up much fuss; besides, he's worth every chime. Nice to meet you, Alori."

Gaven returned with the caged raptor and set him on the counter for Vira to admire. She was a pretty little thing, from yellow legs to black head, and those blade-like wings ready to slice the air the way they were meant to. One of the fastest flying birds in Mizahar, and it was stuck in a cage. Vira felt a pang of sympathy for her and reviewed the price tag once more; 200 pinions, still. A cluck of her tongue and shake of her head, and Vira turned away. "Maybe next season, Gaven. I do need a new hood. Could you have it delivered to the common rooms when you're done? Same as always, please." The shopkeep nodded and the pinions were exchanged.

With the intent of remaining amicable, Vira turned to Alori once more, "Say, why don't you come with me to Bare Threads? I have a horrible eye for fashion and I plan on going out tonight. Think you would mind giving me a hand?" Really, lass? Bad eye? That was an awful pun.

The teen looked over the merchandise, and then looked over it again. She had what she needed for her falcon and getting anymore was just tossing pinions around. Skye would be ok and she knew that there was a lot of stuff that she wanted to buy for herself also. When Gaven returned with the caged raptor and set him on the counter for Vira to admire, Alori did so as well.

"She's really pretty, how much?" she asked Gaven.

"200 pinions." he replied.

"200 huh?" the teen nodded, she could pay for it and still have plenty left over, but she knew that Skye wouldn't have it. She looked to Lavira to see if she would buy it, and was surprised that she turned it down. Alori could tell that the woman wanted it, but it seemed that 200 was a bit too much for her to pay for a pet.

This Lavira was a much better handler of her coins than Alori, and she knew that if it weren't for the wild bird already in her apartment, she would have gotten it without a second thought. Then again, there was a look in the woman's eye, a look that Alori knew all to well, would she return and buy it anyway, Alori figured she might.

When the subject of fashion came up, the teen's eyes lit up and she smiled warmly. It had been her plan from days before to shop for clothing and now it seemed that she had someone to do it with. "Yea, let's go. I was in the market for new clothes anyway. So where are you going tonight?"

"Just to the Clam." She said. "I don't shop often, usually just for a few treats for the hatchlings in the aeries." The woman finished up with Gaven and headed through the circle to where Bare Threads was set up, fully intending on getting the outfit she envisioned. It needn't be anything complex or overly colored; just something simple for a nice night out.

As they walked, she talked a little, her politely friendly nature seen. "I try to get down to the Clam once a season when the Bay's open. They have the best bread, to me, and a little birdy hinted they had some tarts for dessert tonight too. I'm hoping maybe to try one." She gave a casual shrug. They arrived at the stall, the crowd thick enough to be smothered by. It seemed the summer trade had begun strong for the shopkeep for a bright array of clothing was available.

Vira approached the rack nearest and pulled out one outfit at random, studying some of the stitching with an eye that said she knew nothing of clothing. The chiet tended towards functionality over appearance. Simpler drew her attention more, therefore, though the gaudy, near transparent red of this outfit was clearly not one for humbler tastes. It was decked out with so much beadwork that it felt like it weighed twenty pounds or more! Clearing her throat, Vira quickly put it back and moved on.

"What do you think of this one?" The ginger asked, pulling out an earthen toned outfit.
