Booze and business

Vivi held back her sigh of relief, gratified that this had not come to blows. She was a gambling woman but such a risky gamble was something she preferred to avoid, especially when the stakes were her life. She noted his hand falling away from his daggers with extreme relief, getting stabbed in the gut was not her idea of a good time nor was having to waste Djed to escape a dangerous situation. She quickly recovered her nerves and regained her usual charming smile.

"Cheat is such a strong word, it is certainly better and more graceful than taking some poor sap into an alley, stabbing him several times and running off with his coin purse. Besides, is it a crime to take advantage of other's stupidity? If anything I am teaching them a valuable lesson about trust." Vivi said lightly, shrugging slightly.

She chuckled at his statement about meeting next, a powerful statement. If he could actually follow through with it that would be impressive, Vivi tended to keep her true nature close to her chest. Hypnosis was a useful art, only so long as no one knew what you were.

"I already know you need to learn to lighten up, Suir, that is a start. Though I'm certain many others could make a similar observation. In any event I am called Vivianne, Vivi to my friends. Trying to Con someone who you failed to do so the first time seems rather pointless." The red haired woman said with another light chuckle.

It was frustrating that she had failed in her goal today, but it was also a lesson to be more careful and intricate in her lies. It wasn't that she lacked for money, however one could not simply rest on their laurels.

"If you ever want to work off some of your stress I know this great little brothel where the girls can just melt away your problems, costly but worth it." She said, her tone lewd.

Vivi shrugged slightly leaned forward on the bar stool. Sunberth was turning out to be a much better place to live than Ravok, she had her freedom after all. This Suir intrigued her somewhat and she honestly wouldn't mind meeting up with him again under less threatening circumstances. Depending of the amount of alcohol involved he might be lucky enough to earn a tumble if they met again. She suddenly had a thought and regarded Suir with a raised eyebrow.

"Wait, you have been with a woman before right? If not, that might explain your rigid composure." She said with an amused smile.

Since violence was off the table she intended to enjoy herself verbally before leaving. It would also give her some info to go off of in the event of another meeting.

Suir smiled and worked out the simplistic sentiments in his head, cheat was a strong word and a blunt word. Suir looked at the bar tender and then back to vivi.
"It's a fair pount cheat is a strong but accurate word. And no it's not a crime to take advantage of another's stupidity but it is a crime to question someone's intelligence based upon their actions. It often leads to unpleasant circumstance. As you just experienced." Though Suir could see the flicker of fear and apprehension cross her face at the mention of him holding more informationa about her upon their next meeting. But her mood seemed unshaken if Suir had not been paying the closest attention to her face and manner he wouldn't have noticed anything. "I must say though you do a good job at hiding how your feeling in any given situation. Must be something you've had practice at i'm sure."

Suir smirked and leant over the counter almost completely forgetting the event's that had just occurred. Suir could see the air of frustration and the furrowed grimace in her brow even if her face didn't change all that much. Though her next sentiments were rather to the point. Even if her following sentence seemed a bit counter manded. Suir smirked and lipped around against eh bar his back now leaning on it. "Well if you'd like to find out whether or not i've been with a woman before that can be arranged, however , it think you'll find if you ask the staff at the brothels in the city if they know me, the resounding answer will be "Yes" Or at least i'd hope thy'd remember me." Suir smirked and looked back towards her now his analyses mind was working a bit slower he could still see the things about her that were resoundingly outstanding but he kept everything shrouded. and contained within a simplistic package which was hard to find the start of.

Vivi grinned slightly, shaking her head slightly as she took in the information she was getting about this man. She did intend to ask around the brothels, though her reasons less involved discovering his sexual conquests and more learning about him and his enterprises. He was an unknown quantity, however if she had her way she would soon know more about him. The young woman was telling the truth regarding not trying to con him again, however it would avail one to seek knowledge about a potential asset or enemy. Her former master had been quite clear in that in his business dealings.

His compliment had not gone unnoticed, and she smiled brightly at it. Vivi had underestimated him once, she intended to not make the same mistake more than once. Information was her ally here in this exchange and he had given her more than enough to follow up on. The trick was trying to sort through it, which could take a while. Still, she acted naturally, the more he talked the more information would slip out from him.

"Thank you, Suir, it is best in my line of work to hide the truth. It is not as though this city is lacking for men who are willing to trust a pretty face and charming words. Its almost not fair." She shrugged, rather shamelessly.

"Also, I'll take your word for it. Proof is unnecessary unless in comes with a bit of alcohol to dull the senses." Vivi said with a suggestive grin.

Conversing about such things was hardly sensitive for the young half zith, considering her origins and her bondage to a Ravokian Merchant. It was often a subject most men liked to boast about or be defensive of, which was often when they gave out useful info. Suir was certainly different than most others she had encountered, as such it would require more finesse to discover more about him. In the event of another meeting, she intended to have the upper hand or at the least be better armed in her knowledge.

"You seem rather intelligent as well, I suspect that there is more to you than meets my eyes. I cannot help but wonder what secrets are locked up in you head, Suir. A puzzle to be pondered, perhaps." Vivi commented, shrugging again as if such things didn't matter.

Postby Suir on June 8th, 2013, 12:25 am

Suir hunkered down over the counter, his thoughts flickering across his head and in manner which was mildly indeterminable. Still Suir was half keeping an eye on his rather eye pleasing companion. At least for the current duration. Though she let it slip that she'd done this more than once before. Sui9r smirked and responded in kind.
"Y'know, when your not working your secret keeping could do with a bit of work though, you've just admitted that this has been your "profession" most do this as a sideline or a simple pass time but no you admitted it's your work which means to me that your either adverse to working for someone else OR you've a reason to bot want to be known to be in this city. And would rather keep quiet about it. Either way. I'm gonna find out which and believe it or not your going to tell make over the duration of this conversation." Suir smiled and pressed his fingers around the goatee beard he was sporting. Suir let out a small amount of his vast intellect before bottling it up again as she spoke she was digging her hole further and further.

Though she mentioned rather unwittingly what he vied everything as and what he was currently viewing her as but, having said that he was slowly seeing through more and more of her façade.
"Well the fact your admitting I'm intelligent is more than likely your way of conceding that you've finally found someone whom you consider to be an intellectual equal. Maybe i am maybe I'm just putting all this on in a fit to impress you? And as far as secrets go, secrets are secrets. And as such they will stay that way, and a puzzle is only as complex as the mystery surrounding it. I can also say your trying to put across that you don't care, yet if you really didn't care you wouldn't continuously bring up the matter of my intelligence." Suir turned lightly atop his stool. "So shall we perhaps cut out the middle man ? And get right to beating the bush ?" Suir smirked lightly his wording aimed in such a way to elicit a reaction but would she agree? would she turn him down ? would she act against him? would she get mad or would she just storm off, whatever she did Suir would just log it away for later use.

"Suir, my good man, for all you know everything I've said in this conversation is a lie. Truths and lies can be quite easily intermixed with each word I say, though you could also do with some work in the secret keeping department." Vivi said, leaning in closer and giving him a nice display of her longer than normal teeth.

Most of what he said was relatively true, he was certainly intelligent that was not in question. However he was quite arrogant and self assured, dangerous pits to fall into. Still he was more interesting than most of the people she had met in Sunberth, and he had given her a lead or two to follow up on in search for info surrounding him.

"You are correct in saying I care to learn more about you, you seem to be an interesting individual. I wouldn't mind working with you at some point, though your social skills are a little... lacking. A silver tongue is often more effective than a battering ram, it also gains trust far more easily." She suggested.

The half zith thought about Suir suggestion and the possible implications surrounding it. It brought a slight grin to her face, double speak and the reasons behind conversation was her forte. He was likely more interested in her reaction than her answer, it was all about gathering more info about her.

"Sure, why not? I'm all for cutting out the middle man. Lets cut to the heart of the matter." She responded.

Booze and business

Postby Suir on June 19th, 2013, 6:48 pm

Suir couldn't help but smirk tapping his fingers along the counter top rhythmically. Everything she said could have been a lie but everything he'd gleamed from her wasn't and he would never say that. "It's true everything you have just said may in fact be a lie. You may have just lead my thought processes down a merry little garden path." Suir smirked and Caught the glimpse of her slightly sharper and longer than average teeth and count help but wonder what it would feel like if he was to have them himself. Arrogance and ignorance are two branches from the same tree. But an air of arrogance with a deviance and cautiousness beneath...that was a carefully constructed and well designed veneer. Suir smirked as she spoke next he was right and he knew that he was rarely wrong however it wasn't that his smile was gleaming about it was the comment of lacking social skills. That a silver tongue was more effective than a battering ram. Suir leant over the counter lightly with one arm and turned to face her with the rest of him.

"It's true a silver tongue does work better than a battering ram, however if you would like we could test out the theory of which is better your silver tongue or my battering ram." Suir smirked and glazed his eyes over here again this time appraising her, instead of analysing her. His prior statement elicited a reaction alright a grin, was she perhaps used to advances then or perhaps she'd merely misinterpreted the question? Suir slid his stool out and to the side. Turning his body to now fully face her. "So explain to me simply, why the sudden change of attitude towards me? Is it because you view me as more of an ally than an enemy, or because you possibly thing that you can apply my talents to further your own ends?" Sur then stood up from his seat and placed his hand on her shoulder before swinging his body around to her other side and speaking lightly. "Or perhaps you caught my actual meaning? And would rather go somewhere more private to discuss matters further?" Xi released her shoulder and picked up his bag before heading towards the door of the pub.

Booze and business

Postby Vivianne on June 25th, 2013, 3:55 am

Vivi smirked slightly, this so called Suir was turning out to be quite the pleasant distraction and his conversation was much more stimulating that what she usually got. His gaze itself seemed to analyze new information and attempt to add up the whole thing up to get a better feel for a whole puzzle. He was a puzzle himself, one that she wouldn't mind unraveling in a more private location. He was certainly attractive in his own right, and his intelligence was an added bonus. Idly she wondered how good his mouth was for other uses and the thought had her filled with the desire to discover.

"I'll let you be the judge what I view you as, what's a puzzle without a secret or two?" She said, following him as he got up.

"I wouldn't mind discussing some business with you in a more secluded location, maybe show you exactly how useful a silver tongue is?" She said suggestively.

While there was no way she trusted Suir, Vivi could see him as someone she wouldn't mind having future dealings with. He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders and might even be more than just an average con man or delusional information broker. Only time and further information gathering of her own would truly tell what he really was, and how exactly she could use him in her own schemes to climb the social ladder of Sunberth's criminal world. She didn't know how long he would last but she was confident he would at least be fun while he lasted.
