Hunting quest | 60 summer

Postby Yumi Seishen on July 12th, 2013, 10:09 pm

Yumi jumped over a fallen tree as she chased a rather large deer through the densely wooded forest, narrowly avoiding hitting a tree at least 5 times. As she neared it she let out a fears growl and lunged, sinking her claws into its hide and trying to sink her teeth into its back while it bucked. Trying to get away from it's attacker the deer bucked as hard as it could, falling over; Yumi's claws lost its grip and let go, narrowly avoiding being pierced by the deers antlers as it fumbled to get up and ran off.

Panting, she watched the 3rd deer she'd chase get away as she lay on the ground with a bit of blood splattered on her fur. The deer wasn't injured badly enough for her to be able to follow it's trail, and she was to exhausted to chase it down and fight it again. Disappointed, she walked to the clearing the deer she chased was grazing at before she saw it.

After drinking some of the streams water to wet her parched throat she dipped her head, then slowly walked into it in order to cool her off. Climbing back onto the bay, with her fur dipping wet causing water to fall onto the grassy ground beneath her, she sat down and started thinking of a way to get close enough to a deer so it wouldn't see her before she was close enough to take it down. As much as she did like the thrill of the chase, she wanted to get Kujyaku her pelt.

She changed back into the human form and sat on the bay, her body completely exposed, her skin still wet from the water and shined thanks to the sun, and a light breeze moved her hair as she watching the water flow at of her feet while she let her mind drift to non-important things. While she let herself rest to regain energy for another chase, she was completely oblivious to everything around her.

Today had left Arturo out and about, just as any other day would have. It was more or less a break from his normal activities, but hopefully he could snag a nice buck... Fully attired in his camouflage leather armor with a thin layer of wet sand across his face and arms, he did well to blend in with his current hideout, behind a fallen tree.

The sounds of roaring snapped Arturo to attention. Swiftly he stole an arrow from the quiver and notched it, pulling with the two gloved digits back only half way... The sound of hoofbeats revealed a deer was heading his way. 'Perfect!' Drawing back further he near leaps from his crouched position and aimed for but a moment before releasing. The large dear had a broad breast, posing a nice target. The way it attempted to stop only exposed it more.

Score! The arrow sank into the beast's chest, within seconds it falls to the ground with a heavy thump. A grin grew across his features, at least till he came close. The claw marks on the buck's flanks worried him. It looked like a large feline had been after it... Two more arrows were taken from the sheath, one held in his teeth, the other strung and drawn back at the ready.

He made a mental note where the deer was, to come back for it later... but before moving he had to scope out the area, if that predator was still here, he needed the jump in it... With light steps, he slowly lurks back along the trail the beast had left, the footprints clearly imprented for even the lacking tracker to follow.

After only a short walk, he heard something. The sound of moving water nearby offered Arturo a good ambush point if the beast had stopped for a drink... Back into the bushes he dove, slowly working his way closer. Several times he was exposed, but only to find another, closer hiding spot... Just at the edge of the clearing, he peered over. What he saw made his eyes near pop from his skull.

A naked girl, right out in the open... [i']What is it with the people around here, are they insane?'[/i] This was not the first woman he had come across in the wilds, and would not be the last... It was difficult to stop staring, but finally he managed to cover his eyes with a hand, relaxing his bow. "Hey, you!" He called out. "You should not be here, there's a predator around here." She may have been alerted to the falling of the deer before, but now with him speaking his position was clearly compromised.

Yumi blinked out of her daze when she heard a man's voice and turned her head to look at him. His appearance made him look a bit intimidating but this wasn't the first time she'd seen someone with a rather... off putting look that should normally raise alarm. And even if he was dangerous, how much harm can he do to her? She was a fully grown tiger after all. She stood up and looked at him curiously with her hand held behind her back in an almost childish manner.

She thought about the last thing he said There's a predator around here. and tilted her head slightly, getting a view of his bow and arrow she gathered he was a hunter and grinned slightly, exposing her rather sharp teeth. She realized he probably followed her tracks here and was looking for her-in her animal form that is. She the thought crossed her mind that she should leave for a second but then her curiosity got the better of her. She walked over to him, a little amused by his reaction as she got closer, and stood in front of him.

He hands were still behind her back, completely exposing herself to him; and not realizing why he was suddenly so flushed, she continued grinning and said, "I think you can help me with something. I need to get 2 deer pelts but I'm having trouble getting close enough to take it down, do you think you can help me?" She looked at him and smiled innocently, still amused by how flushed he was and how badly he was trying to regain his composer. Still not understanding what made him start so embarrassed that his overall appearance was drowned by how he looked at this moment.

When she spoke he uncovered his eyes for a moment. 'She's getting closer!!' The thought came with a bit of annoyance, but more over a kick-start in his modesty. For a moment he kept his eyes closed, slowly unwrapping the breast piece from his frame. The helmet came off too, and soon enough he had removed the simple black undershirt. With a glance, which had almost unwillingly skimmed down her nude frame, he tossed the shirt to her.

"I just took down one, I had planned to sell the pelt..." He admitted while lashing the armor back onto himself and returning his helmet. Before he did, she may notice the way his hair was defiantly wild, never succumbing to helmet-head... Instead it, like his beard, remained rather poofy... "However, you help be bag three or four, I'd be happy to give you a few of the pelts..." The way he spoke it was clear he was one to need the money, and... not quite the best hunter.

"But uh... Could you put that on? I'm not quite the gentleman you would want to show a set of breasts, if you know what I mean." With her posture he definitely had to mention the woman's breasts, considering they were fully exposed to his easily tempted eyes.

With a deep breath and gaze to the trees above, he continued on. "All you'd have to do is rush them here, and I'll pick them off... I'll be happy with three, but four or five would be the optimal target... And if you see that beast out there, just run. Whatever deer it gashes doesn't have a quality pelt anymore." They would still be salable, but not quite the highest price. For the moment, money was the dominant role in his single tracked mind.

She put on his shirt, guessing the reason he was so flustered was because she wasn't wearing anything. It's not exactly the first time this has happened, probably wouldn't be the last time either, but that didn't matter much to her anyway. It amused her to some degree for someone to start acting weird just because she wasn't wearing her clothes.

She was a little embarrassed not knowing her claws would bring down the price of a pelt, but it was hard making a clean kill when you keep giving away your position. There were so many stupid twigs out here. She looked at his hair and took a mental note that she should probably get him a brush or comb, then shook her head after realizing that was a stupid note; it was kind of neat how his hair didn't settle thanks to his helmet.

"I'd be happy to drive them here, it's really easy for me to chase them and lead them somewhere, you can take them down as they come!" She said, happy that she'd be able to get those pelts for her bondmate. And possibly a snack for herself if see can find and lead an extra deer here. This arrangement seemed perfect, so long as he didn't find out he was that 'beast' he was hunting. Yumi wasn't to sure what he would do if he did, having many bad experiences with hunters after they found out, but a few good ones as well. She decided it'd be best to let him know, after they were done. Seeing as he appeared to need money and Kelvics were usually hunted for that reason; from what she knew about that is.

The shirt hung to her upper thighs, still thought invoking but it covered enough for him to return his gaze onto her. When she agreed to the terms, he offered a smile. "Good. Bring them to this clearing and I will shoot them down." He then pointed upwards to the tree rooted just behind himself. "I'll be up here, try to get them close. If I can get the neck or head, the rest of the pelt will be perfect to sell, or do as you wish with them."

That was all that needed to be said. Lowering his helm fully, Arturo rests his bow at his back with the string over his chest, to make climbing a bit easier. With a turn and a little dash, he attempted a running start. Luckily he caught a low hanging branch and pulled himself higher. A second was in just the right position for him to make his way up to settle on the first. The tree was not very tall, nor concealing to any ordinary person. His camouflage would blend him in with the trunk if he stayed near it, but too far into the green and it would just look awkward. Maybe a deer would not notice if something was chasing it.

"Oh... if you see that beast, run back here and I will take it down. Don't do anything stupid, like trying to fight it, whatever it is has claws and size..." With that, he shooed her off. Bringing out his bow once more and retaking an arrow from the quiver, he strings, pulls, and takes aim to the ground where he had stood. Only seventeen arrows remain, one in the first kill, one in the ground where he had first spotted the woman, and the third missing now strung on his bow. Hopefully his aim would remain true.

Yumi nodded and ran into the heavily wooded area before taking the man's shirt off and changing back into her tiger form. She managed to spot another deer after 10 minutes as it was butting his antlers on a tree. This one wasn't as big as the last, but it was still rather large. She noticed a claw mark on it's side and remembered this was the first one that got away. And it's pelt should still be good because the mark was only on one side and not that deep; while she was happy about that she was scolded herself a bit for not being able to take it down as she stalked towards it.

Her eyes narrowed as she found just the right positions to make sure he was reared in the right direction before letting out a fears roar and chasing it as it ran diagonally from the clearing; as Yumi chased it she got close enough to nip at it, not actually biting it of coarse, but making it turn to the direction of the clearing. This plan, of coarse, back fired as it turned and hit her with it's antlers; fling her into the air and making a deep cut down her torso, before running in the direction she wanted it to.

Yumi let out a loud roar of pain as she hit the ground with a hard thump. She stood up on her shaking four legs and shook her head to clear it; remembering that she had to chase the deer to the clearing, she ran after it and made sure to guide it there, but forgot about staying hidden after it ran far enough that the man could strike it down and continued chasing it.

Sitting up in the tree gave Arturo time to think... Well, it would have if he were the type of man to do such a thing. His focus remained on the bow in his hands. The feel of the string taut against the two digits of his Archer's glove. Pulling back slowly and releasing, Arturo simply acquired a closer feel with his weapon. It helped keep him relaxed while being ready for what was to come...

The roar caught him off guard, his eyes grew within his helmet. He prayed the first thing that came through was the woman, hopefully that beast had not gotten to her first... But no, the deer broke through the clearing. Drawing his bow, Arturo waited for but a moment, taking aim with that one tracked mind swallowed by the deer... and Release! The satisfying sound of the arrow sinking on was welcome, but without time to revel in the catch another arrow was snatched from the quiver.

Just as he had hoped, the beast came through. It was a beautiful creature, not usually the type he would kill... But it was dangerously close to the city, and with that woman running about with only his shirt, she was doubtlessly undermatched for such a creature. He took aim, frowning as he did. He did not want to kill such a beast, he had only set out for quality deer pelts. He had never eaten tiger, nor did he wish to try... With a calming breath, he released the string to send the arrow flying. He had only aimed to nick its hindquarters, deep enough to cut, not deep enough to stick or wound.

If it was smart, it would get the picture and go away. At least, that was the plan... Still, even while the arrow was en route, he had hoped the woman would appear from the bushes, signal him, or do something to signify she was okay... but nothing would come... Not from the bushes or treeline at least.

As Yumi watched the deer go down she realized, a moment to late, that she let herself be seen. Before she could get out of the way she felt the arrow hit her and let out a surprised yelp and swerved on instinct, not that it really hurt or really did that much damage, but so much movement from chasing the deer made her cut opened the cut wider and the sudden movement from the swerve made her start to bleed.

Without thinking she changed back into her human form and put pressure on the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding on her torso and tried to think of something to stop it, completely forgetting about the man in the tree and the fact that he just saw her change.

"SHYTE!" She changed? SHE was the beast? This was ultimate blunder Arturo could have made. He was instantly down from the tree, dropping into a roll with a pain to his left ankle. It did not matter, he needed to help fix a problem he caused. She had already taken his shirt and left it somewhere in the woods, but he could still rip a strip from the knee of his pants. In all his rush his bow had been left somewhere in the bushes, hopefully to be found later.

"I am so sorry, miss!" He stated before ripping near the entire leg knee down out from under his grieve, splitting it into strips lengthwise. "I didn't know, I was only trying to make the beast go away." All embarrassment around the woman vanished as he laid one strip of the cloth over the wound directly, the others were tied together to make a tourniquet. Though not the best, he hoped it would do. "Why didn't you tell me that was you?"

He had only wanted to make sure the beast would not harm an innocent around Zeltiva... Come to find out it was actually a human, he would have been fine with it! Despite not understanding a lick of what that meant, a human had rights, whether it could become a cat, dog or piece of bread...

"Alright, I'm no good at this, we have to get you back to into the city." There was little to no warning as he tried to pick her up over his shoulder. He would waist only enough time to grab up his bow and the nearest arrows, meaning the first he shot would have to be retrieved when he came for the deer. Hopefully they would be here when he came back. And hopefully this woman did not make too much of a fuss about being near cradled all the way back to town. "Stupid woman, you better not bleed out..."

OOCIf you want, you can make an exit post where she allows it, then turn this in for grading. Or you can deny and we can continue for a bit.
