Alori cocked a brow after she heard the woman's confession. She didn't shop often, and to Alori that was insane. The tiny Avora had to shop, and she couldn't wait until market day came. But this woman didn't feel the same as she did and it was odd given that most people around her age loved shopping and Alori guessed she had to be close in age range. It was curious, and she started to wonder if the woman was a chiet. Alori was just about to ask that very question when the woman continued to speak.

The question was then put on hold, as the subject of the Clam came up. Alori liked the place and it had good food as well. The menu was always filled with fresh items to choose from and luckily for Alori she had the coin to purge, although she never got half of what she wanted. "Oh, that sounds great. Maybe I'll go there later and enjoy something good." Alori paused as they arrived and planted a hand firmly upon her hip. It seemed that no matter when she left to get to the shop, it was always full before she arrived.

And so they were off, slipping through the crowds and weaving their bodies around others until they could find a place to browse without being spooned. But all in all, this was the best part. In a shop surrounded by clothing, most of which she could afford and take home two arms full. Alori bit her lower lip as she looked around, almost dancing as her slender hips and legs twisted and bounced while she moved. The teen paused when she saw a red Vinati top with a pair of black Bryda with a reddish belt added.

She liked the color, but she was careful not to buy too many red tops, unless they were a darker or lighter shade than her hair. The top she looked at seemed to be just a bit lighter, but that still made it risky. Alori looked it over more, but decided that she wanted more colors in her outfit. Her Fall and Winter attire was already made up of dark and tanned fabrics, for summer she wanted something more lively. Still, she kept it in her hands and walked around more.

A moment later, she found the woman that she had come in with looking at a really nice and fancy outfit. "That looks great, if you don't buy it maybe I will. So..." she added holding up the red and black outfit. "What do you think of this..too much red?"

"They always have the freshest catch, so the saying goes." The teen replied, offering the glaring garb formerly upheld to Aela. It was just too extreme for her tastes. With her darker tone and rusty hair, she'd need something quieter to fit her preference. As for the one being shown, Vira shook her head in uncertainty. "I'm a horrible judge of color, Alori, but I'd say the red's too dark. How about that one?" She nodded her head in the direction of the rack behind the woman where a light grey, almost blue outfit hung. It left the legs bare but the transluscent skirt that hung from the front and back of the solid shorts-attachment gave it a very willowy appearance, something ideal for some exotic dancing. Little tassels hung from the vinati, pretty glass beads ending each strand with pale yellow patterns on the front and back where it hooked.

Leaving Alori to continue browsing, Vira did likewise.

One of the other shoppers had grabbed an outfit from the rack and was studying it incredulously. The sour look Vira saw upon the womans face, however said it all: that was definitely NOT the outfit for them. However, it definitely matched the Chiets tastes. When the other tossed it haplessly atop the rack, Vira took it carefully, canting her head to study it in the bright light of the sun. The outfit was far more simple than the over-dressed one she'd previously held.

Rubbing the material between her fingers, Vira hmm'd to herself. The dark gloss suggested silk, but that was as far as the teenager could have guessed. Turning again to Aela, she held the material up to herself, using one hand to flatten it against her middle. The bryda were three quarter length, a strip of hatched storm-gray and black tying it together just above the knees so that the rest of the material swished and swayed around the legs. The vinati tied in the front and bore three quarter length sleeves too, tight at mid-bicep before billowing out. It was a pretty piece in its simplicity, something that fit Vira's personality.

However, her eye had caught something on the rack just behind Alori. It was a darker, almost blood-red without heavy decoration. It wasn't so garish to be unpleasant. It looked like a perfect fit, no less!

Alori agreed, the red was too dark, almost appearing a maroon shade. Along with the dark bryda it showed a certain style that wasn't Alori. Placing the outfit back onto a rack, she turned to look over the outfit that Lavira had pointed out. It was a lot brighter in tone and theme, and way more dressy. In all of her wardrobe, the teen didn't have one thing that was as dressy. She liked it, but she couldn't buy it, an outfit so dainty and lacy could only be worn on the most special occasions, and the young Avora saw very few of those. "I like it, but I really can't. It would just sit in my closet and I wouldn't wear it anywhere."

She looked around more, her back to Lavira as they searched the opposite racks. It was better to shop this way, if they saw the same outfit at the same time, and both liked it? A tussle of teens might breakout, or the material might be ripped just by them both reaching for it at the same time. Alori moved along and soon found herself standing in front of the Fall wear. The season wasn't there yet, but there was usually a good price on such items if they were brought before the big stock arrived. She found a thin, white Katinu that felt warm and cozy to the touch. It was a good fit for Fall and early Winter, and was also her size.

After a few second and third thoughts, and another glance, the Avora decided that she would hold off on making her decision until she was done looking around. Turning back to seek out her shopping friend, Alori saw Lavira holding up another outfit. It looked nice, not too fancy, and something that could be worn from day to day while still standing out amongst the crowd. "Oh that one is cute. You have to get it." the teen nodded her approval. Lavira had good taste, and Alori wondered if she could convince her to shop with her more often.

"If you don't buy it..I will. But you really have too." Alori added with a smile.

Lifting her hands to her hips, the teen looked around, seeing more that she liked and some she could buy just because, and others she would never purchase. It was one of the things about going to the shop with a load of pinions, she always wanted to spend and spend. A tick later, she noticed Lavira's eyes on something behind her and turned to look. It took only a moment and her gaze fixed in on the blood red outfit. It wasn't as flashy as the other she had looked it, but it was fairly dressy. Alori reached up and pulled the outfit off the rack and turned back to Lavira, while holding it up to her body. "Oh I like this, something like this I think I could pull off."

The teenager was just about to step forward to grab it and look at it herself when Alori spotted it too. Vira let out a string of mental curses to make a sailor flush but donned a grin for the other. It could not hide the disappointment in her eye, however, as she approached and spread the material out against Alori's form.

"It's very pretty. I bet you look ravishing in it." Even the tone of her voice sounded forced into something of civility. The outfit would have been perfect to go out in tonight, but what use had she for fancy garb if she never had anyone to share it with? It was better off on someone who might enjoy places like the Inclement or the Lady. Places where you could show off and out! Vira wasn't that type of person, and probably never be no matter how hard she tried to change. With an inward sigh, she added, "Really, that one suits you."

Vira turned back to the rack and pulled something out at random again. She checked the size and noted its fit. It would be a bit tight in the chest, she suspected, the vinati bust smaller than she (though not by much) but it would manage. The material was a soft cotton with earthy brown undertones and a bronze over-shade. It had simple glass beads hanging along the bottom of the Vinati with a translucent silk scarf that looped through a fabric hook in the back and hung loosely to either side of the outfit. The sleeves were capped at the shoulders, allowing ones arms to be completely bare, along with their midriff, while a bryda of similar shade as before (dirt-brown with bronze overlay) merged to form a skirt. There was a dark grey to black strip along the waist. It was further complimented by a pair of dressier slip-on sandals. She considered it silently for the longest moment before deciding it would work.

It was lovely, really; maybe it would catch someone's attention. She quietly hoped not. In all liklihood, she'd not even wear it tonight! Vira was just too restrained for much. Leaving Alori for a moment, Vira went to the clerk of the stand and asked how much. Because the garment was actually a used piece, the attendant asked for 4 pinions (to account for the shoes and any alterations). Vira explained she didn't need any, it would be fine as is, and they agreed upon 3 pinions and a silver miza. It would work!

With the coin exchanged and the garb folded back over her arm, Vira returned to Alori, putting on a smile. "All done; were you going to go ahead and get the red one?"

"Really, you think?" Alori beamed brightly as she looked down at the outfit that was draped over her tiny form. Everything about the outfit said dancer, performer, and the teen Avora was a bit of both. She spent a lot of time dancing at the club, and with her new guitar, the girl was rocking strong, or at least trying to. If she wore that outfit she could probably turn heads even more, especially on the dance floor. "It's not too pricey either, I'm surprised it's not sold out."

Alori offered the woman a warm and friendly smile. She realized that she had picked the outfit that her companion was intending for herself. Perhaps it was a girl thing, a teen thing, or just an observation, but she knew it. It hadn't been on purpose, Alori was always excited about shopping and just acted on her nature. She felt bad a little, even though she had touched the outfit first, she didn't want to snag it if Lavira already had eyes for it. It was girl code in a way, two things a woman didn't take from another was a cute outfit and a date. "So, maybe I will, or not. I'm thinking..."

She spoke up in Lavria's direction, but the teenager had already turned back to the rack to search for another outfit. Alori gave the outfit another look and held on to it. If Lavira didn't want it, she would buy it, it seemed the right thing to do...even if she really wanted it. While Lavira browsed more, Alori did as well. She found the wall with shoes, sandals and boots on display and stepped over to get a better look. There was a woman shopping the wall and trying to squeeze her feet into a pair of shoes that were at least two sizes too small. The woman reached out and tightly gripped the teen's shoulder to try and help balance herself while she forced the rest of her foot into the sandal. Alori wobbled a bit, trying to stay on her feet and help the woman stay up right. Once both feet were firmly smashed into the sandals, the woman turned to face the surprised Avora and to get her opinion.

"Oh no, no..you really can't. I think you have to go up a size at least." She didn't mean to sound crud, but she had to be honest. There was toe fat sticking out both sides of the front of the sandal, and the back of the woman's feet were hanging out of the back. The woman didn't take kindly to the words given by the much younger girl, but she did put the sandals back...once she got them off again. Alori started to look over the boots when Lavira returned with an outfit she had already paid for. "Oh that is cute. Already done huh?" The tiny Avora lifted a hand to comb her hair back over her ear, and held the red outfit out in front of her again.

She really did want it, and since Lavira had already made her purchase, Alori guessed it was ok to get it. But first, she took a second look at the boots, but decided not to buy any this time. "I'll just get this then." she added while daintily waving the outfit with her hand. The teen slipped off to find the clerk and paid 5 pinions for the outfit, taking no extra beads, scarves, or anything else with it. Once she was done, she returned to her shopping buddy and lightly wiggled her hips with a giggle. "Woo! Now it's party time, yea."

With both of their shopping done, Vira readied herself to depart. The outfit would work for her outing tonight and she'd made a friend! "Thanks for the insight, Alori, you've a good eye for clothes. I'll have to go to market with you again sometime."

Before she left the shop completely, the teen called back to the other, "I work up at the nesting aeries; I'll tell you how tonight went sometime! See you later!" It was a good conclusion to the morning; who knows what that night might bring!

oocShort, but it'll do for a closer :)

Notes

A nice little shopping thread! The references to other shoppers, particularly in the clothing store, made a very nice touch. Lavira, make sure you've deducted the hood from your ledger. Alori, I don't see an obvious deduction for your outfit, please ensure that's in your ledger also.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this grade.
