The westernmost tip of Kalea, Wind Reach is home to an amazing group of people and their giant eagle mounts. [Lore]

The teen watched him with mild fascination as he tried to figure a way to use the half-cloak to keep himself modest in front of her. It was quite entertaining, to say the least. Once he stepped out, she couldn't help sparing him a top-to-bottom once over of admiration.
Kinda cute, isn't he...
She thought distractedly but was quickly brought back to the current conversation when he tried to compliment her 'lovely' face. Her cheeks blossomed with red flowers once more and Vira gave him a shy smile. "Oh, well it's not Miza's we use, first off." She fished in a pocket for one of the feather-like coins. "We barter with pinions. They're worth the same, though." She put the coin back.
"Second, there's no way I'd get caught doing that kind of work...It's immoral! And degrading!" She hated thinking about the Dek that had to occasionally sell themselves off to simply make it in Wind Reach. It was a hard life sometimes.
"No, I work as a nesting attendant for the wind eagles. I help keep their nests up and running and the mothers, eggs, and eaglets strong and healthy while they're under my care. I also get to help teach them stuff as they grow." She spoke with a great deal of pride on this matter, the privilege of working hand in hand with the eagles while not being an Avora or Endal was great. It was only the problem of her being half blind that made it harder to rise out of her current caste.
When his final question came, Vira grinned and shook her head. "No, they won't. They're not THAT protective. But hey, why were you hovering around that body anyways? I know carrion birds prefer the dead, but...seems kind of strange now that I know you're just a Kelvic."

"Pinions, eh?" the man cocked a brow with a smile as he looked at the piece between her fingers. He should've known. Already he was making a fool of himself but at least he wasn't acting an ass in front his potential employers. Perhaps it was a feather of fortune he'd run across Lavira. But her followup response had him laughing in spite of her.
"Oh no, lass," he raised his hands as if to calm her. "No, I didn't mean it like that. Eh, I guess I ought to be more careful with m'words. I just meant that you're pretty, s'all."
Fenris concluded with a small chuckle, lowering his hands slowly. He listened to her answer, nodding and grinning with acknowledgement. Tending to eaglets? sounds like a mess. He did not like children of any species. Loud, greedy, defecating. Nope. Not a preferred way for him to spend his time. But he smiled when she finished for it seemed she was quite pleased with her position in the nursery. Again eyebrows shot north at her final query, a look of mock surprise crossing his features.
"Just a Kelvic?!" he shook his head with a tch of his tongue. "For shame. Just a Kelvic." He visage warmed as he grinned once more, indicating he was only teasing. "Ah well, I have a preference for the dead both in animal and human bodies. Not that I eat them," again he was quick to state the obvious. "No. I'm a gravedigger by trade. In fact, I'm here," he swept an arm about Thunder Bay, "hopin' your people need one of my particular talents. Y'think they do?"

"A what now?" She asked, the term fairly straightforward, but not something she thought would be used from the region. Then, the girl reminded herself he wasn't FROM the region. "Well, I don't know what use we'd have for gravedigging. We put our dead in the volcano." Boy, that sounded tacky. She stood there for a moment gawking in disbelief at her own inconsiderateness.
"What I mean to say is, we don't bury our dead. If a body can be recovered, and they aren't Dek; they will be returned to the mountain. I'm not really sure what the ceremonies are beyond that...I've never participated in a funeral or wake or anything of the sort." Pausing, she blinked past him to the body itself. "Of course, they do ready the bodies for the ceremony sometimes, maybe to honor them, I'm not really sure; maybe you could ask the Valintar about doing something like that?"
The wind rushed up from the water nearby, then, tugging at the girls hair and making her shiver and wrap her arms around her. Northern Kalea tended to still be bitterly chilly this early in the season, even if the thaw had already broken the ice off the bay. It meant warm clothes were necessary, and warmer cloaks besides. "Hey, aren't you cold? Maybe we should go up to the docks and find you some proper clothing and shoes. I don't have many pinions, I'm afraid, but I can see what we can scavenge to find you something decent enough to get to the city in. Like I said, it's a bit of a hike...unless you change forms again and fly up. The view's surely more appealing above than below." Though the girl spoke fondly of flying like that, her features suggested she'd rather keep the company. It wasn't often she got someone to talk to about...well, whatever crossed her mind. You know, like a friend!
It was...kind of nice.

Additional Notes: A wonderful thread! It's a shame it didn't see itself finished. Anyway, Lavira, there wasn't much to give in skills and I tried to give the lores I thought useful; but, as always, if you think I've skipped something or would like me to give the thread another look, I'd be more than happy to!
Fenris, if you come back, and would like a grade for this thread, please, don't hesitate to message me.
