Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Summer 66th 513 AV
He had finally done it. He had persuaded Duce to let him have control of the body. "C'mon just for the weekend. Two days that's it." He spoke for he could sense the idea stirring up inside his mind. To be honest he now regreted that he made the suggestion. Being in the physical sucked. He liked it more in the suspended space to which he resided most of the time. It was spacious, quiet, and you didn't have to worry about stepping in horse waste. Then again, he liked feeling the dirt instead of looking at it. "What to do? What to do?" he asked himself looking around at everything like a little child in a toy store. "Hey watch it a bystander spoke shoving Duse back behind the butchers shop into the wall. He was excited. His first time in control that didn't involve work and he had already had been ticked off. "Hey you," He called out to the male who turned around to see a blue fist directly in front of his eyes.He lay sprawled out on the ground Duse standing over him fist still clenched. "Goodnight." He softly said proud of his actions, until he realized that the man he knocked down was an off duty guard and if he were to come back to or if someone just happened to wonder behind the butchers shop that he would be in a world of trouble. "Son of a..." The guard started to stir out of his mini coma. Duse didn't know how to react so he did was he knew how to best. He lifted he leg and gave the guard a good kick to the head once again knocking him unconcious.

This was bad. This was worse then bad this was horrible. Duse weighed his options. He could run. Thats it just leave from the ally...No what if someone saw him? Then they would wonder why he went around back and would investigate. He could wait until the guard woke up again..But then how would he explain why he was behind the butcher shop or why didn't he go for help and then what if someone just happened to wonder behind the shop and caught them. He sat there for a few minutes first hopping that the guard would wake up and he could lie, then when he realized that he had kicked him pretty hard, he hoped that a good idea would come to mind but alas none came.

He heard the foot steps of someone running. He quickly hugged the wall well hid from any sight around on the opossing side. The footsteps got closer, louder as if someone was running from something. Maybe someone has saw the ordeal and had already got the guard. "Really?" He asked the uncouncious guard sprawled out on the ground. If he was going to be taken by the guards then he was going with a fight. He crouched on the wall waitng for the owner of the footsteps to step behind the shop. He counted down the paces in his head before the person got behind the shop."Three. Two. One." The first foot stepped behind the wall. Duse grabbed them slinging them around and holding them up against the wall making a loud thud as they connected. Duse froze hopping that no one else heard then realized that he did not cover the persons mouth so they would not yell out. He turned his head back so that he stared the jackee in the face. "Please don't scream. Please don't scream."He begged to himself not knowing what to do next.

Season of Summer, Day 66, 513 AV

Jorin had been innocently minding his own business. Honest! He'd just been meandering around the butcher's shop, contemplating buying some meat, but his meager funds were getting more meager by the day. He didn't think he could afford to buy something as opulent as meat. Jorin sighed. The joys of being a starving actor...

"Son of a...!"

Was someone shouting? Jorin's ears pricked up. This could be fun! What was going on? The shout seemed to have ended abruptly, so he decided to peek around the corner to investigate. After all, it wasn't every day that an actor got to go on an adventure! Or at least see something interesting. There was some sort of scuffling sound, and Jorin broke out into a run, trying to get there to see what all the fuss was about.

All of a sudden, he got pulled around the side of the building by something big and purple. His back collided with the wall of the building with a loud thud, which nearly drove the breath out of him. When his vision cleared, he realized he was looking at a large Akalak, who was staring at him with nervous eyes. Hey, he knew this man!

"Duce? Is that you?"

"Duce is that you?" the person asked calming Duse down a bit now that he knew that the person knew him. "Uh yea sorry...I um thought you were someone else." He said still clenching the man up against the wall. He released him. Man was he terrible at remebering names. He looked at he man hopping that he wouldn't think something was up...Then again there was an uncouncious guard laying only a few feet next to them. "So what brings you this way?" Duse asked trying to hold conversation to pull attention away from the body. He knew who he was talking to, but he just couldn't match the name with the face. "Where is Duse when you need him? he groaned in his mind.

He was taller than the human so he tried to block the view by slowly inching closer to him so he could not see around him. "Nice work." he thought as the human continued to stare at him. The guard stirred once again. "Oh for the love of.. Duse gave up turning around and giving the guard another good kick. "Stay down." he said aloud as he turned back to Jorin! the name popped in his head. But would Jorin help him was the question. He did think that he was Duce so that gave Duse the upper hand. Giving it a shot he walked back over to Jorin. "I really need your help."

"So what brings you this way?" Duce was asking. Jorin just shrugged.

"Oh, nothing much, I mean I was just..."

"Oh for the love of.. Stay down!"

Jorin's eyes grew wide as he saw Duce kick a downed guard in the head. What was going on?

"I really need your help."

Jorin snorted. "Yeah, I can see that! Holy ... you just kicked a guard! In the head! I mean, is he OK? Hang on a chime..."

Admittedly, Jorin's skill with medicine was rudimentary, and his skill with Akalak medicine was nearly nonexistent, but he felt the guard for broken bones or other things that would be seriously wrong. Confident the guy wasn't too badly injured, he turned back.

"So, uhh, why are you going around kicking guards in the head? I mean, this something you do for fun? Did he owe you money or something?"

"So, uhh, why are you going around kicking guards in the head? I mean, is this something you do for fun? Did he owe you money or something?" Duse heard Jorin say. "No this was an accident. He..he pushed me and I hit him and he fell and I panicked and he woke up and I kicked him then you showed up and I kicked him." He found himself rambling. He took a deep breath. "Ok. Look if we don't do something about him, then I will be in a world of trouble. Can you please help me and I will owe you greatly.

He hopped that Jorin would help him. He seemed like the type to do so. he didn't scream when Duse had grabbed him so he trusted him. Then again, he had to be ready to knock him out too. Why did this type of stuff happen to him. His first 5 chimes in the physical and he already was in a world of trouble. He glanced up at Jorin and then back toward the ground. Now it all rested on the decision of a human. He never felt so helpless in his life.

"No this was an accident. He ... he pushed me and I hit him and he fell and I panicked and he woke up and I kicked him then you showed up and I kicked him."

Jorin grinned. He knew what that was like. The pushing part, that was, not the hitting, and the kicking. And the kicking again. If anything, he was the one who got kicked sometimes. Jorin's hand unconsciously went to his ribs, which were still sore from that time they were really unimpressed with his poetry. Was it really that bad?

"Ok. Look if we don't do something about him, then I will be in a world of trouble. Can you please help me and I will owe you greatly."

Jorin just grinned.

"Sure!" he said, always game for a new adventure. "Perhaps we could hide him somewhere? How about in that alley over there, do you think that would work? Hey you know, Duce, you're a lot more fun then the first time we met!"

Jorin looked around, trying to see if anyone was watching them. Shrugging his shoulders, he grabbed the guard's legs and motioned for Duce to grab the shoulders, so that they could carry the unconscious body.

"By the way," Jorin mentioned as he grunted with effort. Boy this guard was heavy! "You do realize he's going to be looking for us when he wakes up, right?"

"Sure!. Perhaps we could hide him somewhere? How about in that alley over there, do you think that would work? Hey you know Duce, you're a lot more fun then the first time we met." Jorin said as he grabbed the legs of the guard. He was grateful. He picked up the guards arms and began carrying him from behind the alley. "Fun." the word echoed through out his head. If kicking guards was fun to this human, then they could really go a long way with each other.

"By the way, you do realize he's going to be looking for us when he wakes up, right?". The words that Jorin spoke hit Duse hard. "Crap!" he yelled out throwing his hands up forgeting that he was holding the guard. [color=#4000FF]"I give up." He said cringing at the sound of the guards head hitting the ground. He wondered how was he going to get Jorin out of this. He himself could easily slip out of town and travel until things blew over, but saving himself and a human...Now that was a challenge.

He realized that Jorin was still holding the heavy guard by himself and quickly went back to pick him up. "We need to find a place where it would be normal for him to wake up. Some where where he would think that this was all a dream." Duce peeked around the corner looking to see if the area was clear when he got a smalll whiff of the guards rancid breath with the lingering smell of ale. "Jorin!." He bursted out an idea forming in his head. "You're an actor! Have you ever acted drunk?" He was anxious for an answer. They may just be saved if Jorin could pull this off. To think his life rested in the hands of a human.

He played his plan out in his head. If Jorin could pull off acting that he and the guard had been drinking, then they could openly drag the guard over to the tavern and dump him off there. If was flawless. Unless of course Jorin couldn't act drunk. He looked at the guard who now had two large knots on his head and a third starting to form. He picked up a bucket and placed it on the Akalak's head so it would seem that he had drunkenly fell and also because he found it flat out funny. He laughed out loud for a while before the sound of guards passing by killed his humor.

Postby Malla on August 13th, 2013, 5:18 am

"Not your house, the gate. G-a-t-e," Malla said to the Akalak standing infront of her. She was starting to get rather frustrated. She didn't take a map with her this morning and now she was lost, and her 'genius' plan of asking an Akalak turned out to be useless. It had to have been ten chimess already she had tried to get directions out of him. Ten chimes wasted, apparently.

"Why would a pretty Konti like yourself want to leave? There's a nice bed at my place," the tall man grinned down at her, causing her to ball her fist. She wanted to smack him. She should smack him, but he was too tall for her to actually do anything besides hit his chest. Maybe she should start to carry a very big stick to hit them with....but that could end up with her getting kicked out of the city. Well...she could at least look threatening with a stick, right? She might look more so with a sword, but she had no intent to carry one of those around again anytime soon.

"Oh forget it. I'll find it on my own," she huffed then turned on her heel to leave, glad to hear that the stubborn man just walked away chuckling to himself. She walked down an alleyway, using some very colorful curses in Pavi as no one was around, her hands moving about angrily. She just couldn't understand why all these Akalak were so...so...frustrating. At least most of the time. Maybe she chose the wrong city, but, then again, she liked a challenge. And not hitting any of the natives of this city was definitely a challenge for the Konti. She really wondered why, if they'd never really seen women before, none of them left Riverfall for places with women.

Her thoughts and cursing come up short as she heard a voice around the corner, causing her to pause and listen. "We need to find a place where it would be normal for him to wake up. Some where where he would think that this was all a dream." The voice sounded familiar to her...but she wasn't quite sure if it was Duce or not. She also couldn't help but wonder what exactly he did. "Jorin! You're an actor! Have you ever acted drunk?" At the mention of Jorin's name, she frowned even more, and peeked around the corner, blinking at the sight. The two men carrying someone who looked knocked out and, going by the Akalak's words, he was. Her brows furrowed as she saw who she was more or less certain was Duce put a bucket on the passed out man's head and laugh for a short bit. She shook her head to herself then stepped around the corner and took a few quick strides over to the two.

"Should I even ask why you two are holding a passed out person...and putting buckets on his head?," she asked, raising a brow. She didn't exactly care if it was a good reason or not, but was curious...and not to mention still frustrated and, well, she had little qualms about potentially being able to take that out on a passed out Akalak. Only because all Akalak were much taller than her, so harder to deal with when awake.

OOCHope y'all don't mind my jumping in here. If you do, sorry!
Malla's Konti gift lets her sense if someone has ever kiled anyone; the stronger the sensation she gets from someone, the more recent the kill.

Season of Summer, Day 66, 513 AV

"You're an actor! Have you ever acted drunk?"

Jorin grinned. "Sure! I've done it lots of times!" he said with absolute confidence. Then his smile faltered a bit. "Well, OK, maybe only once. And it was two years ago. And I was an understudy at the time. But I showed great potential! The stage master said so! ... Then again, he was actually drunk at the time..."

Before he could continue, a figure stepped into view. He recognized her: silvery hair, heart-shaped face, light eyes. What was her name? Malla, yes that was what it was! Then Jorin realized she was watching them carry an unconscious guard with a bucket over his head.

Petch!

"Should I even ask why you two are holding a passed out person...and putting buckets on his head?"

Jorin's face grew beet red. This was an unexpected surprise. He really didn't think anybody was going to be here; seriously, who comes around the back of a butcher's shop? Well, except for curious Konti, apparently.

"Ah, hello Malla! Umm, well you see, there's a perfectly good explanation for this! Just ... I haven't come up with one yet. I mean, greetings my good lady! Perhaps you could assist ... oh petch it all, we need a little help here."

Jorin glanced at Duce. "Well if he's 'drunk' enough to put a bucket on his head, maybe he'd be drunk enough to have passed out in a tavern I'm sure. We should keep the bucket on him! I often find that, counter to all logic, the more absurd the situation, the less people question it. If we just dump him in a tavern, people are going to ask questions. But if we carry him into a tavern with the bucket on his head, laughing and joking, people will just think we're hazing the guy."

He glanced at Malla, and threw her a sheepish smile. "... don't suppose you'd like the part of leading lady in our little drama?" he asked. "Because we will probably need an excuse to leave after we dump our unfortunate friend here. Nothing like a ladyfriend of Duce here pulling him away for that!"

He grinned at Malla.

"... please?" he added hopefully.

"Sure! I have done it lots of times! Well ok maybe once. And it was two years ago. And I was an understudy at the time. But I showed great potential! The stage master said so!...Then again,he was actually drunk at the time..." Duse stood quietly for a while puzzling how long it would take him to be taken down if he just went out and took on the guards himself. Then again his father was a guard and was dedicated to his job... "Good enough" He said getting a better grip onto the guard holding the body up with an arm over his shoulder. "Quick get the other one." He said to Jorin who now was looking out pass him. Duse's face turned into a blank expression. Either someone was standing behind them, or Jorin's body just gave out from holding the weight of the Akalak and he blacked out. Either way Duse was stuck.

"Should I even ask why you two are holding a passed out person?...and putting buckets over his head?" Duse froze up to the sound of the voice until he turned his head and realized that it was only Malla. It didn't make the situation any better, but at least she didn't call the guards either. "Could you please help us?" He asked after Jorin had finished talking. They had to move quick. If Malla found them there is no telling when the next person would show. He took the bucket off the guards head to show Malla the now three giant knots on his head plus bruse swelling up from when Duse dropped him on the ground.

"Wait what are you doing back her anyways?"He said standing up strait thus letting the guard go again and loudly connecting his head to the ground. Duse really didn't care at this point. He was pretty sure that the guard was dead by know...or at least dying. He really wanted to know what the Konti was doing wondering behind shops and sneaking up on guys that knock out guards and place buckets on their heads...ok probably not the best scenario to put in that sentence, but still he wondered.
