The Cosmos's Gateway ![]() Rumors follow the Gateway that the designer of the building was allergic to straight lines. The only exception being the floor. Whether fact or fiction, the Gateway is a no less impressive sight for onlookers, day or night. Perched on the highest flatland that could accommodate for its size in the Sartu Peak, skyglass crafted to reflect makes the majority of the building, with the left side of the building completely transparent, overlooking the Misty Peaks, the Alpine Wilderness, and eventually looking out to the Western Ocean. Over the course of the day, the building reflects the sky and sun, shining in bright harmony with Syna. By night, it recedes into night's embrace, decorated by Zintila's stars, reflecting the serenity of Leth's thoughts. No expense was spared with the Gateway, to stretch its durability to the absolute limits, allowing the structure to be able to contain and handle the other-worldly creatures that it was designed to house. It is here that Corin Row makes his home. Devoted to the discipline of Summoning, as well as finding and reaching new worlds, the Gateway is divided in to two sections. The first two curves of the building are for Summoning purposes or anything similar. If you open something that you can fall in, or something can fall out, it is done within this section. No questions asked, no exceptions made, unless the situation is dire. Even then, only a trusted few are allowed to do so. Corin is aware of the dangers present when working with sentient beings, and is not going to allow a single person to work outside his rules, within his grounds, because they think they are capable. Viewing balconies run the length of both sides of this section, for those who are not directly involved with opening portals on the ground floor, but are either curious to see or are taking notes. It is also noted that this section has been shielded by a group of Master Shielders, that refuse passage to any who is not of a race whose blood has been worked into the shields. This has required the retrieval of blood from the different races in Lhavit, but only if the individual is willing, unless they want to use the Summoning Floor with no previous blood added from their race. For this reason, anyone is capable of walking into the shield, but any creature summoned, dhani, symenestra, or zith would require help to leave again. The third curve houses the second section. It is here that, through the use of Infinitite crystals, Alchemists and Summoners are constantly trying to find the astral coordinates of new worlds. The process is long, tedious, and very delicate to meet the requirements needed for producing results. Unfortunately, new coordinates are not often found, and are therefore close held secrets to those involved in their discovery, to prevent abuse of these coordinates. Research is also conducted in this section. Reading texts that have already been written, and deciding what could have more added to it, if the Summoners have anything to add to it. Corin Row is less likely to be found in this section, as he keeps to the Summoning section, whenever portals are being opened, to meet new beings. When no-one is on the Summoning Floor, he is found in his books with his Familiar, Ruik, reading, drawing the creatures he's seen, and taking notes. Corin makes no attempt to hide his life goal of rediscovering the lost discipline of Dominion, and is quite eager to talk with Zintila, when given the chance, and Ethaefal, hoping he can retrieve any information that might help his research. Whilst primarily used for research, Corin is enthusiastic about sharing most of his knowledge with others who are interested. Unfortunately, even though he does not like asking for money, he is also aware of how much debt he is in for the construction of the the Cosmos's Gateway, and charges for any shared information as a part of a class until his debt is paid off. ![]() Classes

![]() Born and raised in Nyka, Corin was fascinated by the Celestials and the tales of the gods. He read further into stories and discovered the existence of worlds other than Mizahar, and quickly delved into the topic. When books could no longer satisfy his curiosity, due to having questions they couldn't answer, Corin chose to learn Summoning, travelling to Sahova to learn under the Nuits. His drive lead to his contracting with Ruik, an Irylid whose memory, observational skills, and logic furthered Corin's research greatly. He later learned of the Ukalas, the realm of the gods, and how there use to be a magic that could access it. Still with the stories of a child in his head, but an adult's ambition to achieve something beneficial to some, Corin made it his goal to research the skill of accessing different worlds in the hope of reviving the lost discipline. He settled in Lhavit where the Ethaefal would benefit most from his research as they strived to be with their lost God or Goddess, and where Zintila herself resided. Both, who had once been within the Ukalas and may have some desire to return, might have been able to provide even the smallest amounts of information that could help. Corin is rather reserved, answering people with responses that sound practised, as if he isn't saying them himself but has something to automatically reply for him. It's not that he is trying to be rude, it's that he is too caught up in research most of the time. Happen to mention an interest in his field of expertise, or catch him when he is not working, Corin treats anyone like a new best friend, even his employees. The only thing he requires is that people follow his rules, as they have been put there with the intention of preventing serious injuries or worse. Ruik
![]() Corin's Irylid familiar. As all Irylids, he is quiet to the point of stubborness. Very rarely talking, very rarely sharing his many observations that he makes every chime. On the occasions he does say anything, it is usually telepathically to Corin only. He almost never converses with anyone else. To get an answer from him implies he has a good opinion of you, regardless of how small. He has enjoyed his time with Corin and is exceptionally loyal to him. He is Corin's friend and partner in everything they do, and is more than happy to use his abilities to help Corin at his request. ![]() Moderator Note: This location is free for self-moderation.
