[Eanos]

It seemed that his erstwhile student had some opinions of her own and that amused him, and though he wasn't entirely sure of the wisdom of her advice it did not bother him since he'd asked for her help without giving boundaries and weapon choice was always a matter of hot debate. "If you come closer to a decision then we will welcome your return." He nodded to the potential customer, not yet having made up his mind if he would indeed return. "If you wish to view a wider choice of weapons then the Ironworks is a good place to start. And once you've made that choice you may find what you want there." It seemed to him unlikely that someone so unsure of what he wanted would be able to properly decide how he'd want such a weapon customised. He turned his attention to Tallen. "Let us move into the Forge where we can be more comfortable and you can tell me more about the metalworking that you are familiar with." He waved her towards the door into the forge where she'd find a worktable with stools and a supply of water if she wished it.

She makes her way through the door she was waved towards. She looks around, she hasn't been near a forge in a while. She could feel the radiating heat and smell heated metal. The corner of her mouth raise slightly. She turns to the owner once again, and began to explain. "I have experience in making alloys, nothing to advanced on that part." She says. "I'm more skilled in making horseshoes, cooking utensils and the like. It has been my goal to make weapons since I worked with my father." As she says those last few words; her confidence that he has held ever since walking in, waned slightly. But it was noticable.

13th Fall 513, In the morning

Karu was thinking about what weapon would suit him, when he went into Sultros Blades. He was worried about so many things that he almost crashed against a shelf which had a lot of sharp weapons.
"Wow! This would be a bad place to crash with!" said Karu as he looked to the shelf.

"I would like to order a weapon, but it may be difficult to find." Karu was looking to the man standing in front of him. He seemed to be the owner, so Karu thought he should be skilled enought to help him.

"The weapon I need should be short, easy to carry, and of course I want a good metal. I mean light and hard to break." Karu was walking from one side to the other while talking, looking the weapons stocked.

"I think I would like a pair of Sai, if you are able to make it, of course. It is that weapon that looks like a mix between a fork and a dagger."

Karu was able to do lot of things, but to explain his ideas wasnt one of that things. He just hoped the man understand what he was trying to ask.

Karu

Eanos was used to the oddities of customers, yet he could not recall any that paced as much as this young man did. The smith hardly needed to engage his auristic sense to know that this one seethed with energy. Still the request was simple enough given the choice of weapon. Other smiths might not be familiar but it was a class of weapon most Isur would recognise, but he hid his mild amusement for he understood the frustrations of one who knew what they wanted yet could not find it.

"Sai?" He nodded, "of course." He drew a sheet of parchment closer and made notes.

"I have some questions before we take measurements so that I make exactly what it is that you want."

"Do you intend to use them only in your hands or do you wish to be able to throw them as well? In which case do you wish three?" The sai was an odd weapon and one which many swordsmen disliked, with good reason. "When in the reversed position, how much overlap on your elbow do you want? I can make it to meet the elbow, or longer." Longer meant a slightly harder spin on the inside sometimes but did allow a reverse strike with an exposed point.

"Did you want the blades round or shaped, and how do you want the tips? I can make rounded, spiked or I can put a blade edge down some of the edge." Normally Eanos would not put a blade onto a Sai because it prevented the user from using the weapon for a hook block, but some users didn't like that move and preferred instead the ability to have a weapon that had improved striking abilities.

[Karu]

"So you can make it? Great!"
The man not only knew the Sai, but he knew a lot about them. He asked Karu how would he use them and some details about size and shape.

"I think that throw a weapon is to give the opponent the opportunity to attack you with that weapon, so two will be enough. Hmn, about length... it would be better for a beginner to meet the elbow. I dont want to stab myself while I practice. Also, I would like the blades rounded and one of the two small blades pointing to the ground, so it can protect my knuckles if I punch a shield, for example."

Karu was thinking about how much could it cost when he remembered something
"Oh! I almost forgot! At the end of the handle I would like it to have a 5 cm diameter ring, so I can hit with it but also to hang it. As you know so much about weapons, I have to let you choose the metal to use. Im sure that if I choose the metal, it will be a weapon easy to break."

All was settle, they just had to talk about the worst part of all: money.

"So how... how much is it?"

Notes were quickly made on the parchment and Eanos nodded as he made them. He had one point to clear up though as his customer was as fast in his speech as he had been pacing through the shop.

"So, just to be clear, you want one of the guards reversed so that it will come down and protect the handle whilst the other remains pointed forward in normal sword trapping position, or have I understood incorrectly?"

He waited for Karu to correct him or explain further then scanned down his notes and considered the work involved. The work was simple enough and required no special work. Already in his mind he had planned out what was required in the making, and though he considered it a simple job it would be a far superior product to what could be bought elsewhere.

"The price for the pair is ten gold miza. If that is acceptable to you then I will take the measurements and explain the fitting process to you."

[Karu]

"Yup, just as you said" Karu was thinking in that Rogue Knight and his hard armor. If he meet him again, he want to be ready to hit as hard as possible.

When the smith said it would be 10 gm Karu started breathing again.

"So both of them 10 gm? That is really cheap. With the modifications I asked, it should take a lot more time to make it than a normal Sai. When will it be ready?"

[Eanos]

Eanos was pleased that the customer was happy with the price. It was indeed very reasonable, but now that he was adding new smiths into the shop, prices for the non specialised weapons needed to be more competitive with the Ironworks.

"If you want me to charge you more then I can," his face was serious but he grinned just to show that it was a joke. "For new customers we ask a deposit of five gold and the balance payable when you collect the weapons."

"If you come back in two days time I will have one ready for the first fitting. If there needs to be no serious modification then the final pair will be ready three days after that. For the first fitting the weapon will not be finished but it will have had it's first balancing."

He reached to the back of the workbench and withdrew his marked tape and with Karu's permission started taking measurements of his arms and hands, noting them down carefully.

[Karu]

"So 5gm now and 5 when finished, as the 5gm deposit is to make sure I will come again to get the Sai, am I wrong? I may pay a bit more next time, but not for now. Im still looking for a job."

Karu extended his arm so the smith could get the measurement of his arms and hands.
«Seems like I will have to come again more times. This is a good and friendly shop and I may need other weapons...»
