While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Summer 22nd, Year 510

The sun dipped over the edge of a jagged horizon. Massive towers of rock lined the ground like great earthy teeth for miles in each direction, and the sky bled light red in preparation of the twilight that would soon fall. Atop a 60 foot spire of earth stood the silhouette of a man. This was the Everstone forest in the hour of sunset, a mass of land where fifty foot limestone stalagmites jutted out of the earth and dwarfed even the trees. It was all but literally a forest made of stone. No one was really sure how such a thing came to be, but most simply considered it a wonder of nature.

And that brought us to the man. Being a follower of the goddess Caiyha, he had been drawn to this place with the hope of learning more about the many wonders of the natural world. Sadly, the land had not been so eager to meet him. In his many years traveling the Sylira region, he had come to be able to find his way through the hills and forest with much more ease than when he had first left behind his home. The spires of rock however, formed a maze that disoriented the senses and had left him lost. Now atop his stony perch, he looked out over the forest in hopes of reclaiming his sense of direction. Unfortunately he had long since come to realize that his climb up this small mountain was to be a fruitless endeavor. While the rock he stood on was the tallest that he could successfully climb, it was not the tallest. Soon after reaching its peak he had realized that there was nothing to be seen from his vantage point but the tip an endless sea of stone and moss.

His stomach let out a growl.

It had been days since he had eaten and he had long since grown tired of the jerky he always carried but never ate. Unable to feast upon the bounty of plants that littered the trees and bushes of the forest, he would have to hunt for his meat if he hoped to have a dinner aside from jerky. But to hunt meant that he would have to climb down. The man glanced down at the earth below, then to a tree to his left, and then causally he turned his gaze back to the setting sun. It would have to wait. He let out a relaxed breath and watched as the bright colors of the sky lit up in stark contrast to the shale grey stone. He himself seemed to be part of the effect. While his plain dark colored clothes of green, brown, and grey matched well with the earthy colors below, the bright copper strands of his hair caught fire in the light of the sun. The light wind that snaked between the stones caressed the folds of his cloak and gently rustled his normally dull mane of hair. It must have been a sight to see. A man with hair like a glowing like a warm flame, calmly watching the setting sun from atop the highest spire around. But the man knew better.

His name was Svan, and once again, he was stuck.

[Everstone forest] Caiyha's Dhani [Save]

Save` ran down the path screaming in pure fear as a large bear chased her. She was sweaty, tired, hungry, and about to be mauled. This day couldn't get any worse. She tripped over own feet and she watched her inevitable demise approach her at a rapid pace. This was it...this was the end....and she had only just begun to explore the world.

The bear slowed down and approached Save` sniffing around her and with its massive paw, pinned her down crushing her already fragile frame, breaking at least four ribs and cracking her sternum. She couldn't shift. It was too dangerous. She couldn't move to grab her weapon either. She was doomed. As the sun was setting, Save` realized it would be her last sunset. How gorgeous it looked as her vision began to blur from the pain. The bear began to claw and tear at her soft flesh. Dying hurt...Save` closed her eyes for what seemed like a few bells but had only been for a few ticks...she blinked again when she felt it.

Snap.

Something in her turned and in that moment a whole new person came forth. Save's screams of agony became howls of pure animalistic rage and she managed to escape the bears attacks. Revealing her most prized possession, she wielded her silver steel fan and began hacking and slashing in a blurred frenzy of desperate hysteria. The bear roared clearly angry that its plaything dared to fight back. And so violently. Save` kept moving silently and gracefully even though she only hit the bear a few times and had only minorly wounded it.

With a barely audible snort, the bear gave up and turned to leave her alone. Save was breathing heavily as she assessed the damage done to her body. The scene around her began to spin and her vision blurred. Save` collapsed groaning
in pain and fell unconscious.

"What the petch....."

Svan had seen it all. A small woman beating a large bear into submission with a pair of fans. it wasn't the kind of thing one expected to see while trapped atop a tree made of stone. Then again, most people didn't expect to get stuck in rock-trees in the first place. In all honesty Svan had a bit of a habit for getting himself stuck in the great wooden behmoths of the world, but this was a low point....or perhaps a high depending on one's perspective.

Regardless of perspective the facts remained the same. He was stuck on a 60 foot rock, a girl lie bleeding out at the spire's foot, and dinner was walking away. Now most people didn't see a bear and think "big furry chicken" like Svan did, but most people didn't have the strength to snap a grown man in half, nor the stomach to swallow a grown man whole and ask for seconds. Sadly, there wasn't much Svan could do from the top of a rock except glare angrily at the fuzzy beast's rump as it sauntered away. The snake glared hatefully down at the woman who had chased his meal away, and kicked his foot against the stone. He realized that if it wasn't for her, the beast would have never come near Svan's rock and that she probably had been too busy trying to not die to notice him, but a hungry Dhani was rarely ever a rational creature. As the stones clattered to the earth, a sudden idea popped into Svan's head.

Kneeling over, Svan gathered a few loose rocks from his stoney prison, and began chucking them down towards the bear. While Svan had range due to his current hight, he lacked accuracy and so the first barrage of stones bounced harmlessly into the surroundings. The next few however, landed directly onto of the bear. The bear began looking around frightfully, Apparently it hadn't anticipated a meteor shower in the twilight forecast. Little surprise there, Svan hadn't seen random bear mauling in his either. Eventually, curiosity got the better of the bear, and it turned around to see who was throwing rocks at it. To its surprise, no one. 60 feet up in the air, Svan was already hiding behind the rock he had been petched upon, and the only other person in sight was an unconscious little girl. After a couple ticks behind the rock wall preparing for what came next, Svan emerged from his hiding place and looked down. What he saw was a large black bear sniffing the petch out of a bloody looking human. It hopped back once or twice, likely anticipating the girl to spring a surprise attack on it, before eventually growing comfortable enough to actually walk up and paw the girl. No movement. The bear pushed her again, this time more violently, and when she failed yet again to respond to the bear's prodding, it came to the natural conclusion that she couldn't fight back any longer. Slowly the beast lowered its head to the girl's neck and opened a mouth full of dagger like teeth. The warm breath of the monster brushed against the woman's tender neck, and then in a blur of movement, it struck.

"It" being the massive body of a quicky falling snake-man.

The bear didn't even have a chance to be surprised before the Dhani's brown scaled body crashed into it like a coldblooded cannonball. The snake had morphed his body behind the rock and once his sharpened senses had picked up the bear he had hurtled himself at it. He hadn't just jumped off or course. Cushy bear pillow or not, such a thing would have been lethal. No, Svan sort of - stumbled - down the pillar of stone. Enough to slow down enough so that nothing was too seriously injured, but at the same time it was fast enough for Svan to have knocked a full grown bear at least 3 feet away. Dazed, Svan punch a fist to the sky and let out a hoot of strained enthusiasm.

Before he could get too comfortable on the ground, the sounds of the beast getting back up sobered the snake. Quickly, the Dhani coiled himself into a tight ball and prepared to lash out at the attacking monster-no wait, it was fleeing. "Petch!" The Dhani shouted as he began giving chase. Though fast, he was no match for the speed of a terrified bear and as a pang of hunger washed over Svan, he collapsed to the ground. "Oh gods-huff-just get back here.....come on and fight me like a man-bear-snake.....Well petch you too!" As the bear faded out of his view Svan was filled with the sinking feeling that it had no plans or returning to him. Which meant that dinner had escaped yet again. Svan turned to look back at the human girl lying pone on the ground. At least he had an appetizer.

He flicked his tongue once and let the rich flavor of her blood fill his senses. There was something....familiar...about it, but with the fog of ravenous hunger clouding his mind he couldn't place it. Slowly, the snake slithered up to the girl and picked up her arm. Warm, but not as warm as a living human. Dead enough for Dira. He grinned hungrily at the woman. By human standards she was actually fairly cute. Not that Svan cared, he wasn't the least bit attracted to ordinary humans. Still, it was a pity that she had to die in such a way. Traveling alone tended to get terribly boring, and he was itching for some conversation. He had even grown so desperate as to try and speak with the plants and animals of the woods, but they in general didn't tend to be the best conversationalists. Perhaps the highlight of Svan's week had been the day he had bumped into a young pit viper. Normal snakes weren't exactly known for their skill in rhetoric, but it was at least nice to speak with something that was capable of answering back. Even the creature's dialogue capabilities had seemingly been limited to the names of various local prey, and a few choice vulgarities. Some serpents just had no respect for the Dhani. Its not Svan's fault that his specific race was Siku's favorite.

After a moment of staring at the corpse of a woman, a pair of scaled hands reached out and wrapped around the girl's weapons. Bladed fans...Now, now Svan had seen everything. He laughed and tested the fans out. Opened wide he imagined they made good shields, and closed he could see it being used as an effective club. Perhaps even as a bladed weapon. Though based on the pathetic wounds she had inflicted on the bear, he couldn't imagine that it was the sharpest weapon in the world. Then again, the man knew from personal experience that bears were hard to cut than people. After playing with the weapons for a chime or so grew bored and lazily threw the weapons away. He turned his attention back to the girl and gave her a cruel smile. As he lifted her head off the ground, Svan lowered his jaw and let his teeth hover just over her skull. Slowly, he began to close his serpentine mouth and-Nope, Svan dropped the girl's head onto the ground and backed away. Folding his arms, he glared at the girl. Something about this just felt....wrong. He supposed that was a good thing. Perhaps he was finally growing more uncomfortable with eating humans. Unfortunately, humans were a wonderful source of food for Svan when he was out in the wild. The were slow, weak, and rarely too skilled to handle. Their only strength was in their numbers, with his Dhani senses, all he had to do was wait until one strayed a little too far from the rest and BOOM, dinner was served. But now he found himself struggling to even begin to eat this girl. And she was already dead! He might have a bit more of a moral dilemma is she were alive, but he couldn't see any reason that he shouldn't eat a fresh corpse it was just going to fall in his lap.

After a few ticks of slithering back and forth, Svan gave up on trying to make his own conclusion and decided to leave things to fate. He pulled a coin out from his bag and flipped it into the air. As it landed in his palm, The man cupped his hands and prayed to Caiyha to guide him. So what was it going to be. Was the girl to be diving headfirst into his Dhani stomach, or would it be-Tails. Dang it!. Svan stared at the coin on his now open palm with a frown. His eyes flicked back over to the girl, his frown slowly lessening. It wasn't the most practical thing for a hungry Dhani to do, but for some reason it felt better this way. It would be easier for his conscience.

...

Half a chime later Save was being shoved down Svan's throat feet first. He didn't always like to do it this way, but there was something about eating the girl's head that bothered him. For some reason he considered this woman attractive, and wrapping his head around her face felt too much like kissing her....it some twisted sense of the word. The way he saw it, by the time he reached her head this way, he would already be too committed to turn back. Still, it felt odd. He didn't usualy eat people this way. It wasn't safe. It was better to eat food head first so that they couldn't fight back, but this Svan thought this woman was dead.

Thump-thump..... thump-thump. Or at least he had until his mouth reached over her chest. Thump-thump, thump-thump, thump-thump His hand shot out to catch hers. Her heartbeat was getting faster which meant only one thing.

She was waking up.

[Everstone forest] Caiyha's Dhani [Save]

Everything was dark. So horribly dark. Was she dead? She couldn't be. No. No. She had to be alive. She screamed in the darkness but it was pointless. Save tried looking around and saw no-Wait! She saw someone...it was...herself...Trying to talk to her. But how? What was she saying...

Wake...up...

"What?"

Wake up... The other Save was getting louder trying desperately to share her message. WAKE UP!

Save opened her eyes to see more than half her body being devoured by a dhani. With all the strength she could muster, she kicked as hard as she could and screamed loud.

"Get off me you imbecile!" Her pupils became slits as she hissed wanting to kill this male that dared try to eat her. Fool! By the gods she hurt. The scent of her own blood made her dizzy. Moving out of his mouth and a decent distance away, she struggled to stand. It hurt so much to breathe but the main objective was to get to safety. She would have taken to her snake or dhani form, but she would be more vulnerable to this...this.... petching moron. He must be a follower of Siku.

"Who are you? Why are you trying to eat me?" She watched him carefully. Save` struggled to stay conscious. The pain was almost unbearable. Tears slid down her face. She didn't think she could go on. May Caiyha guide her.

There was one brief beautiful moment where Save looked down at the snake that was slowing devouring her and froze. Their eyes locked, and their movements stilled as each realized just how horrible a situation they were in.

"Hey."

Chaos broke loose in an instant. The girl thrashed like a shark on land, and kicked at his inside with all her might. The snake tightened his stomach against the sudden assault and pinned down her arms with all his might. Would you petching calm down for just one tick?! I didn't know you were ali-"IIIEEEE!" Her foot was currently tryingg to fuse with his pancreas. With a groan of pain Svan shifted the organs inside him away from her feet of fury and worked to lift his top half up off the ground. "Stop-Kicking-My-Internal-Organs!" he punctuated each of his barely understandable grunts by smacking her head against the ground. Once she stopped fighting, Svan began the slow process of removing her from his stomach. As the last of her plopped out, she quickly regained her energy and shrunk away from him. He glared angrily at her as if somehow she had done something wrong. "And NOW I'm hungry again." The unspoken words "and its all your fault" seemed to follow the man's glare.

His expression slowly shifted to one of surprise when he saw the girl's eyes narrow. Perfect. Just perfect. He had nearly canabilized on of his own kind.

...again.

Svan frowned. An expression that would be difficult for a human to recognize, but easy for anther Dhani. There was no mistaking it. Reptilian pupils, serpentine lisp, and cold as a corpse. A sign that read "Cold-blooded bitch", at least that could cause a little more confusion. The male slithered his way around the woman like a predator sizing up its prey. After about a quarter of a revolution, Svan was positioned between the girl and her weapons. Not even trying to hide his intentions, the male turned around and picked up the recently weaponized fans. He turned back to the girl, his expression unreadable, and slowly approached her. As the snake drew closer, he pressed a thumb over the top layer of each fan and slowly began to push them open. Sharp metalic clicks rang out as the blades of the fan glided over each other until both weapons were opened entirely. Svan looked down at the girl with tears in her eyes. "Pathetic." He seemed more angered than moved by the girls display of weakness. He sneered at her and shoved the pair of weapons in her direction. "Take them." He said coldly.

Just as the girl reached for the weapons, Svan snatched them away and stared her down. "Just so we're clear, if you even think of trying to harm me with these-"

Shink! Svan snapped the fans shut. Their bodies now forming a long metal spike tipped shaft. "I will take these back. And shove them up your arse." He placed the blades carefully on the ground before her and slithered away.

After a moment to scan his surroundings, Svan glided over to a small plant and began picking leaves off of it. "My name is Licearsvansan, and the reason I nearly ate you is that I had simply counted you amongst the dead. You have the body temperature of a dead man- or rather a dead woman - after all." Svan returned to the blood-soaked woman with a bushel of leaves in his hand. "And what of you viper?" There was a hint of distain in his voice as he spoke. Specifically on that last word. He had come to dislike run ins with his race over these past few years, and his memories of the last viper he met were not ones he enjoyed. "What is your name, and why are you out here. Surely you could have thought of better ways to commit suicide. If your goal is to impress Lhex and Dira, I can assure you that 'death by bear hugs' isn't nearly as unique as you might think." Svan pulled out some cloth from bag, and looked Save in the eyes. "I'm going to bind your wound so don't struggle. These leaf might sting at first but they should numb the pain after a moment." Without waiting for her consent, he reached for the woman and began attempting to bandage her. Even with her consent however, the job would be shoddy at best. He knew next to nothing about tending to others and had survived largely off of luck. For example, if she was keen, she might notice the slight uncertainty in his voice when he told her off the leave's effects. This was because there were three similar looking plants in the area, each with a different effect on Dhani. One, worked to numb the pain of injuries. Another tended to cause severe itching. And the last....

Was lethal.

[Everstone forest] Caiyha's Dhani [Save]

Her vision was still blurry from the blood loss. This dhani was clearly no better off than she was it seemed. And he could clearly tell she was viper. But what of him. There was no time to ponder it. He was about to poison her with a lethal plant.

“Stop! Licearsvansan!.... That plant will kill me...” Save` had just enough strength you make a makeshift bandage out of her blouse. It hurt to breathe, but the pain was very much welcomed since she was alive. She sent a silent prayer to Caiyha for allowing her to live. She did not mean to anger that beast but she had been so hungry. Thankfully for the time being she had lost her appetite. Kind of hard to think about eating when your bleeding to death....

“My name...isss...Erosssyni....elisssave.... I have no intentionsss of ending my not ssso ssshort exissstenssse. I have chosssen the path of Caiyha...Becaussse of sssisss choissse....I was branded a ssserxesssnassss and I left my horrible nesssst....I am heading...to ssse sssity of Nyka.

She slowly took her heirloom back and returned it to its rightful place on her belt. Despite the arrogance of this man, at least he tried to be courteous and help her, even if it almost killed her...again. Today was obviously not her day but thank Caiyha she would get to see another day.

The bear attack had taken its toll on her body...if only she could just coil up in her most natural form and sleep for awhile. She felt a strange warmth flood over her. It was pleasant like sitting next to a fire.

Maybe I can just close my eyes for a chime or two....

The world fell away in a dizzying whirl as she faded back to the realm of unconsciousness.

Translation :
"My name...is...Erosyni....elisave.... I have no intentions of ending my not so short existence. I have chosen the path of Caiyha...Because of this choice....I was branded a serxesnas and I left my horrible nest....I am heading...to the city of Nyka."

"Stop!"

Svan froze mid movement.

"That plant will kill me."

His hand popped open like a spring and the leaves, that were once firmly held in his clutch, drifted gracefully to the forest floor. His eyes followed them. He noticed the slight difference in pattern. "Oh....so it would." He glanced back to the girl, his expression one of deep thought, "But are we sure that wouldn't be a good thing?" He asked in an almost philosophic manner. A slow grin grew along his face and let out a soft chuckle. The snake reached down and brushed the fallen leaves away from him with his claws. "I'm teasing you of course. Though I admit that after nearly eating you, that joke might not be in the best..." Svan brought a thoughtful finger to his wry lips, "-taste." He arched an eyebrow to the nearly dead woman. His devilish smile barely holding back a flood of laughter.

To his surprise, the woman was already attempting to make her own bandages. She managed just about as well as when Svan tried to mend his own wounds. Wordlessly, Svan went over to assist the woman. As the two worked to patch her wounds, the girl introduced herself. He froze again at the mention of Caiyha, though only for a single moment. It did explain why she was out here after all. He chuckled lightly, keeping his eyes focused on dressing her wound rather than on her face. "For some reason I doubt that they would brand you a Serxesnas for choosing to worship Caiyha. Unless you did something stupid like spit at Siku or flee the nest without permission." Svan's eyes briefly flicked up to meet hers before returning to the bandages. Caiyha was worshiped by the snakes even in his own nest. Though to an obviously lesser extent. His mother had worked to shield him his entire life from the Goddess and it was only once Svan accidentally learned about her that he was able to find Caiyha's influence among his kind. He once heard from an Dhani ambassador that Zinrah even had a priestess of the nature goddess in their home, though he had also learned that they also owed a fair bit more to Caiyha than the other two sub-races. Still, while Dhani could worship Caiyha freely, it was expected of them to worships Siku as well. He wondered if that had anything to do with her story. Sadly, before he could ask, the girl passed out. A brown scaled arm reached out to keep her from bouncing her head off the ground as she fell. Svan the snake-charmer, making Dhani ladies faint wherever he goes... The truth of that statement was sadly less impressive than he would have liked.

He scooped up the fragile looking woman up of the ground and slung her over his shoulder like a prize deer. His eyes locked onto the blood on the ground. "Thanks to a certain bloody viper here, I'm not going to say names but her name rhymes with dumbshyke, we are going to have to get moving." svan looked back up and out into rocky woods. As if on cue, a wild beast let out a hungry roar somewhere in the distance. "The things you really have to fear are the beasts that come out at night, and they can smell fear. Especially when it comes in the form of blood and-" Svan flicked his tounge, "Is that urine?!" He moved his head away from the girl in disgust and began to slither away quickly. He wasn't sure if she had wet herself or if that was simply the scent of the accumulated filth that had collected on her from staying out in the wilds. I don't smell that bad do I? he flicked his tongue once more. Nope. I smell worse.

...

Several bells had passed, and Svan had managed to get a fair distances from from their original location since then. Carrying the girl, he had made his way out of most of the stone forest and before him lie the solitary figure of a massive stone cat looming in the distance. Well that.....and a pack of wolves. Though to be fair, they weren't so much "before him" as they were "already around his throat". Needless to say, he had been in better positions. Fortunately he had been able to hold off the pack long enough to swaddle the vipers fragile body in his cloak and hang her limp body of a nearby tree. He would have climbed it as well, but before he was even halfway up, the largest wolf had caught hold of his tail and dragged him down. And that was about when the throat biting had began. Svan choked up blood as a small grey wolf shook angrily at his neck, and a black one worked to try and make him left handed. This was what he hated about wolves. They were the farthest thing from chivalrous. Using guile and tactic to gang up on him when he was most vulnerable instead of lining into a single file line so that he could swat them one at a time.

Thankfully, this wasn't the first time Svan had been in such a situation - if that was anything to be thankful for - and he knew better than to loose his cool. Just so long as the beta wolf at his tail didn't move his teeth up any further. As humorous as it would be to be neutered by a dog of all animals, he just wasn't in the mood for such irony. Taking as much of a breath as he could with a wolf trying to rip out his throat, Svan punched out the arm the black dog held and nailed it in the stomach. Surprised by his sudden assault, the beast lost its grip. But before the Dhani could even congratulate himself, the wolf was lunging once again at his arm. Sadly for the dog, it was just what Svan wanted. As the dog charged forward the Dhani caught it by the neck, its teeth snapping down on thin air. The man lifted his body high into he air and heaved the black ball of fur into the tree. While the back dog was dazed, Svan's hand sought out the one around his neck. He tore its jaw from his throat just in time for the midnight colored beast to regain its footing. Without warning it sprinted at Svan believing the snake not o be aware of its approach only because Dhani had its back turned to it. It was sadly mistaken. Just as it pounce the snake spun around, snarling grey wolf in hand. The two bodies collided in air and went sailing off to the side.

"Now its just you and- Oh Goddess!" the massive beta wolf had released his tail and was now only inches from his throat. A pair of scaled hands caught hold of its maw just in time, but the weight of the creature shoved him down to he floor. As he looked up, he could have sworn he had seen the girl stir in the trees. Unfortunately, Svan didn't have time to wait. He was pinned to the floor by a large beta wolf, and the other two were getting back up. To make matters worse, this wasn't even the entire pack. Another strong looking wolf, the alpha, circled he fight, barking out orders to his pack. There was also a fifth. Though Svan had no idea why that one wasn't joining the fray. He would have given it more thought, but he was currently had more pressing matters on his hands. Literally. Strength waning, could think of one possible way to save himself before it was to late. His hands her busy, but his tail was free. He lacked the aim to score a direct shot with it on the wolfs skull, but....

Svan heaved his bottom half up into he air and his tail flew high into the sky like a whip. As it reached its peak it collided with the poorly tied rope that held the cloaked Save to the tree, and wrapped around. Putting all his strength into it, Svan gave a good yank and the knot came loose. The next thing the wolf knew, he was being struck from above by a falling ball of girl. It collapsed just to the left of Svan as the girls weight fell into it and onto the snake. The male let out a bloody gurgle and sprawled an arm out to his side. Hand grabbing hopelessly at the ground for anything. Time wasn't on his side though. The beta wold was already back up. Its brown fur seemingly standing on edge in pure rage. It let out a snarling roar for a single moment, and then lunged at the two serpents. To its surprise, all its fangs found was a rock. Just as the beast bit, Svan had punched a large stone to its face. The effect was hilarious to say the least. The beta wolf had backed away and was now gagging on the rock in an attempt to spit it out. The man smiled and painfully lifted his top half off the ground. Save still pinning him down by lying on his lap, Svan looked out helplessly as the other two wolves slowly approached them.

"Could be worse." Cool blood dripped from his mouth, "They could have been dire wolves."

To hide his dhani nature from anyone, Svan has taken measures to hide his lisp. As such, he will not have any extra "ssss" on his words unless indicated otherwise.

Save` opened her eyes once again to find that she was tied to a tree while the male dhani that had so naively tried to devour her, was getting the shyke beat out of him like a hyper dog's chew toy. It was kinda funny but it would do her no good to be out here at night, wounded and alone. But how was she to get down? She didn't have to think long, for a few ticks later, Save` was suddenly falling and landed on a wolf and the poor fool that untied her.

Rage boiled inside her once again. That imbecile! How da-there was no time for this. Slowly and painfully Save` stood up wielding her steel fan. It was a stupid plan but Svan looked incapable of much else since her full weight landed on him. Even with the grand amount of pain she was in, her vision was ridiculously clear. She could see the heat outlines of the wolves that dared to attack the two dhani. It was a tad strange to say the least but not unheard of. She had more energy now than she had in the past few days. Perhaps it was her will to survive. Or maybe just dumb luck.

Focus! Save` snapped at herself. They were in danger and her mind was wandering. The two wolves were closing in, both in a blood lusting frenzy. In one quick blur of a movement, Save` slit the throat of one the wolves and watched it whimper and back away despite the growling of the alpha who obviously wanted his fellow wolf to fight til death. How fitting. The next wolf lunged headbutting her side, knocking the breath out of her in a low hiss. She stood her ground refusing to be moved by a pathetic creature that now moved in desperation. Survival of the fittest.

"Svan! Get up! This could be your dinner. And we could get out of this alive if you could just get the petch up!" Save` had always preferred to work alone but the determination of the wolves was unnerving for some reason. One of the first wolves had seemed to regain his composure and joined the wolf that was snarling viciously at the bleeding dhani. Svan was still on the ground, not moving.

Dear gods he better be playing dead or something because I can only do so much.

Save's rage was beginning to peak. She refused to die in this place. She had made it this far and there was no way she was going to make friends with death after she had just escaped it's clutches not even a few bells before. With the full weight of her body, she threw a punch at the snout of one of the wolves but unfortunately had missed and had barely grazed it. The wolf clamped down on her wrist piercing the skin, blood gushing everywhere, almost snapping the bone. With her free hand, Save`closed her steel fan, and shoved it into the wolf's eye and freed her arm as the wolf howled in anger and pain. Before the wolf could flee, she removed her prized possession, and kicked the wolf as hard as she could into the other one, losing her balance in the process but luckily causing the damage she was hoping for.

She didn't know how much longer she could do this. And there was still one vicious wolf left.
