When Armesi heard of the existence of a shop called The Feathered
Shaft
, she knew she couldn't miss it. She had eve left her dinner for
the evening half eaten, and printed off into the night. She had no
idea how much time she had till the shop closed, but was determined to
beat the closing rush.

Arriving after what seemed like forever, she entered the shop
delightedly. After several moments, she dodged Kalvin Wilde
the shop owners gaze; moving off to look at the impressive array of
merchandise. Careful not to ruin the product, Armesi ran her fingers
down the surface of a couple bows. She observed the sturdy and erratic
wood grain patterns, coming to the conclusion that the woods natural
structure was not lost in the creation of the standard bow.

Moving on to the composite bows she quickly discovered a significant
difference in their structure. While she didn't herself have the
workshop to create her own composite bows, she had heard of the careful
gluing and pressing process that the Kalvin must have used. Following
the grain once more, she noticed that it was more linear and uniform -
all moving relatively parallel. She smiled as she had a relatively
enlightening epiphany!

Without hours of sanding and polishing, she would have been rubbing the
many layers directly; and thus the bow would eventually crack and un-
ravel an an extensive rate. Oil and a sanding stone were the key it
seemed.

Moving on to the ammunition counter Armesi requested one of each type of
bolt for inspection.

Examining the flaming bolt, she quickly figured out how it was made. It
was simple really, she concluded. The flaming bolt seemed to be little
more than a normal wooden bolt with a swatch of cloth wrapped around
its tip. (leaving about two inches of tip out for puncture) ..and then
the whole tip was probably dipped in some type of lamp oil.

Moving on to the Armor Piercing bolts, she noticed a significant
difference in the structure of the entire bolt. For one thing, the
shaft was heavier that was to be expected. The biggest difference she
noticed however was that the tip was longer and slimmer than most bolts!
Why this was so though, she had no idea.

"Perhaps I could combine the structural concepts of the bolt varieties to create a hybrid bolt line?" She thought to herself

Thanking the clerk she handed the bolts back and moved on.

Down in the basement of the shop, she picked a target and began to practice with her heavy crossbow. Settling into a rhythm of: two shots from the while crouched, five standing shots from the shoulder, and two sporadic shots while turning around suddenly.

Needless to say, she discovered that the only really reliable method of shooting was standing and aiming from the shoulder. While shooting from the hip provided extra stabilization, it was harder to sight a small and even medium sized target. Perhaps someday she'd be charged by a horsed rider, and she'd then shoot from the hip - she quickly concluded.

Removing her bolts from the bales of hay, she perched herself upon one. Relaxing, she carefully observed the other people present. She took note of their body language, angle of sighting, and most importantly the amount of time they took to aim. It seemed that there was a careful balance between the amount of time it took to aim carefully, and the amount of time it took for the shooter to doubt their shot. If she could figure out her own happy medium then she reasoned she would develop a habit of consistent accuracy.

Hopping down from the hay, she went back upstairs. Thanking Kalvin for letting her look around, she left content and all the more wise.

Additional Comments Hey there! I hate to say this, but I talked it over with one of the founders and we concluded that you could not gain skills in Boyer and Fletching simply by examining the products. If you were to watch someone produce a bow or an arrow then replicate said production, then you'd be able to get points in it, but as it is, you can only get observation.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to PM me and we can figure out a solution.
Bad News Everybody. School is picking up, Exams are beginning to happen, homework is growing time consuming, I may soon be evicted from my apartment, I'm dealing with severe and physical fights among several of my best friends, and I can't seem to find a time to get much needed sleep. I'm terribly sorry, but don't expect to see much of me for a long while.
