Syveris noticed the girl flinch, and frowned. Glassworking also made her uncomfortable? Or was it something else she had said? Shaking her head, she decided not to talk about jobs anymore. Maybe it was the whole subject of jobs that the Avora didn't like to talk about. She couldn't understand why, but she decided to let it go. The day was supposed to be nice and fun, not full of tense moments.
When Azira told her what she wanted, Syveris turned to fix her gaze on the shorter woman. It wasn't like she had much experience in dressing up, after all, she barely did. Maybe it was also time for her to buy some clothes. Pushing the thoughts away, she focused once again on the Avora in front of her. Maybe she could give the other an opinion. Syveris was good with colours, something she thought it would be useful once she started mixing them to create glasswork. So at least she could give advice on the colour of the clothes.
"I think green and blue would look nice on you." she said, smiling. "Although I like green, so that might be why I'm suggesting it. But blue would be a nice colour, don't you think?" Syveris turned, browsing through the clothes in display, picking up two blue vinati and showing Azira.
Before the other could answer, though, a strong wind knocked a rack on her. Syveris let out a surprised scream, losing balance and falling on the ground. She blushed, annoyed that she had screamed like that. She was surprised, yet again, when a man knelt besides her and put a hand on her shoulder. At least this time she didn't scream.
Still feeling silly, Syveris accepted the man's hand, murmuring 'thank you'. The man was strange, in a way Syveris couldn't quite understand, but he was also reassuring. Reassurance made her uneasy. She let her hand linger in the man's just a moment before letting it go.
When the man pressed a few gold mizas on Syveris' hand, her eyes grew. Why was he doing it? Her clothes weren't that fancy to begin with, and there had been no damage to them. At least not in her eyes. However, before she could tell the man that this wasn't necessary, he was already walking away. Syveris followed him with her eyes, until he faded into the crowd.
"Ok, that was weird." she murmured, to no one in particular. Shaking her head, she bend over to pick up the vinati she had dropped. Thankfully, they weren't dirty. "So, what do you think?" she repeated the question to Azira. Her voice had lost the cheerful tone, replaced by a thoughtful one. Who was that man? Syveris wondered if she should try and follow him, although she doubted she could find him now, in the middle of the crowded market.
Strange, strange, strange. It was all she could think about. It made her thoughtful, but it also send a shiver through her spine, a sensation very much like the one she felt when she was climbing the Edge of the World. Syveris wondered if she would see the man again.
