Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV
For some reason Rinya really was expecting the worst. In some ways she knew she was torturing herself, asking him about Farline. Despite the fact that Jorin was a romantic—well he was with her at least—she would have expected far worse details. But then she forgot that Farline only did things for a price. That was much was obvious from the first time she spoke to Rinya privately. In some ways she felt terrible about bringing up this particular subject now. He had gotten comfortable with her curled up against him.
Rinya frowned against his chest slightly as Jorin mentioned he wasn’t entirely sure if he loved Farline. It took quite the effort not to scoff over his musing of him and Farline being incredibly young. He was still young, a few years didn’t add that much difference. The fact that Farline made it so hard on him however caused a myriad of emotions through her chest. In some ways she was glad, because if she hadn’t been playing… Rinya wouldn’t be in this current position herself. But it was also a selfish idea. Regardless of how much she wanted him for herself—Farline still hurt him.
Jorin himself seemed almost distant again. Playing with her hair as he mused over why he couldn’t hate Farline. For Rinya it wasn’t actually as easy for her as it sounded. To hate someone took a lot of work… but then Farline pushed her towards it. But really the hate only came in waves. She could put up with the insufferable woman so long as she kept her mouth shut with the insults towards Jorin. Feeling nothing for her would actually be easier in her opinion. Negative emotions were something Jorin rarely felt, and when he did it usually didn’t last long. That was Rinya’s territory.
”I don’t hate her all the time. She just… purposely pushes me to it. How many ways can she insult you before I snap. It’s another game for her really, and no matter how I try not to play—she just ropes me into it. Honestly… it’s the only reason I told you at all. If she wanted to go after me, fine. I grew up with that. But if you were going to be in the middle of it, you might as well know.” She was tempted to bring Rhys into the mix. She was rather certain if Rhys started to spout off over her like Farline did over him—well she was sure there would be some version of hate mixed into the inevitable rage.
Jorin pressed her up against him further, any space left between them eliminated. Either way, everything seemed to fall into place… not without its own mess. Despite Jorin’s trailing kisses, Rinya couldn’t help but snort. ”Don’t go there. We have our own version of stressful. Today just proved that.” Natural however… Rinya leaned into the kiss slightly. It was natural. Beautyfest was looking to be quite the show at this rate.
”I really need to go to bed…” Rinya mumbled, pulling away from his lips hesitantly. Despite the fact they had been intimate, the only time she had slept in the bed with him at home was their first night together. She wasn’t entirely sure why actually, somehow she got the feeling Jorin wouldn’t mind if she took up a form of permanent residence in his bed. Granted it was two days… or rather nights, but Rinya wasn’t sure if she was invading his personal space.
Sitting up, Rinya decided maybe she would have to be the first to make the move. If he said something about it, then she’d swallow the rejection later. For a moment she did seriously consider taking off to her room, but she was feeling a little bold. They spent much of the day either talking or playing games with the other. Raising herself up to her knees, she reached down and in a smooth movement she pulled her dress over her head. She still hadn’t bothered to fully dress when she got home, so it left her naked.
She ignored his pointed stare—she really did need to sleep. Reaching down she tugged on the blanket and cocked one eyebrow at him slightly. If he was going to resist this, now was going to be the time. So she remained silent and waiting for him to either move so she could get under the blanket or tell her otherwise.
