Amelia felt that Fauna was about to run off, run off bad and it was not something she would like to see. This time they wouldn’t be lucky enough to have a kelvic to help them. Leaving Amelia and Elaine to their own, that is, if Elaine would bother with helping Amelia once more. ”shh, shhh” Amelia said to the horse in a reassuring manner, while running her hand along the leopardbreed’s neck. The horse seemed to calm down and not protest, well, not as much. She could imagine that the horse was no pleased by the touch of a ghost.
With the words Elaine spoke, it made Amelia think that she and Clyde were closer friends. Well, she was surprised, no doubt. But she didn’t know much about Clyde as a person, to her he was a teacher and to him, she was probably a bit of a disappointing student. ”wonder, how the two met…” would there meeting have been as awkward as Amelia’s and Clyde’s was? Or as frightening as when Amelia met Elaine? Hard to tell, but she should ask, if she manages to man up that is.
”Elaine, thank you” was all she managed to tell her, before the ghost left. Really, who would have thought that the two of them would be…this friendly? Sure, it was far from calling each other the best person…thing, in each other’s lives, but they had progressed from the last time…When Amelia was left running away from the ghost.
The Cross girl followed Elaine’s orders. Yet she was indecisive of how exactly to burn the clothing, as she wasn’t sure that just burning them and leaving would be a smart idea. And so, she began digging. The girl was digging up the earth, it was though for the girl, tougher than she would have imagined, but in time, she had a relatively deep hole and a pile of dirt next to it. That taken care of, Amelia threw the clothing inside and headed over to Fauna. She toke out her flint and steel from the saddle bags and headed back to the clothing. It toke Amelia several attempts to get a spark, as she was never really good with starting a fire, none the less burning something different. But eventually, in a good dozen of attempts, she managed to set them on fire. The clothing burn quickly, she tried to remember what was the fabric, if her mind didn’t play tricks on her, it was linen. ”so, linen fabric burns quickly?” she thought, as a light colored smoke rose up and hit her nose, a filthy smell of burning leaves.
The clothing burned off quickly, and she threw the dirt on top of it. The weather was good and so was the land, it would be a short time before it would be covered in some sort of growth. ”lets go” Amelia said and got on top of Fauna. They walked slowly, so Amelia could follow the marks she had left on the trees. ”there” she said softly and pulled Fauna’s rail to guide her to the correct path.
Was it a good thing, or bad, but the marks on the trees weren’t even close to the place they left the man’s body, as Amelia realized she would need them only a good time latter. But after some time, she was on the safety of the shore. It was less than a bell till the next ferry.
In a rush, she guided Fauna to the stables and headed towards the ferry. She had to meet her mentor tomorrow, and if she managed to catch this ferry to the city, she would manage to get a decent amount of sleep.
