I am no good when it comes to matters of intrigue.
When it came to awkward conversation Bolivar did not seem to fair as well as others. Though curiously the squire had been faced with so many awkward situations recently he wondered why this one in particular frightened him. Shuddering slightly as he walked with intention along along the pier Bolivar retreated to his horse. Taking one final look back at Eada and Aden Bolivar could feel his face flush slightly realizing he was starting a bit too pointedly.
With a bit more vigor then necessarily Bolivar managed to pull himself atop the horse in one go. His mighty steed shuffling a level too high for comfort Bolivar sheepishly calmed the beast wondering all the while he was feeling so self conscious. Pulling hard on the reins Bolivar directed the horse further into the docks despite his earlier notion to flee.
I'm not involving myself. I'm not. Just going to the warehouses.
The pair in the corner of the squire's eye Bolivar directed his horse to a walk trying to disappear into the background. Behind a few ships and some crates with a bit of weird motions and patterns he should go unnoticed right?
Well that was the idea.
Bolivar directing his earthquake of a horse as it shifted along crates and barrels strewed throughout the dock. Attracting the ire of the local shipwrights and deckhands the clomping of his horse did not really help Bolivar's attempts at mounted secrecy. Shrugging slightly as he gave up the pretense, standing up straight atop his saddle as he gave one final look at the pair.
She laughed. My worry is baseless. To hell with them. What they do is none of my business.
Pressing his heel deep into his horse's stomach Bolivar was just about to canter away as a new voice grabbed the squire's attention.
"Squire Bolivar is that you?"
Pulling hard on the lead rope Bolivar's mount looked back accusingly at the squire as it let out an earsplitting neigh indignant at the squire's rough handling. Bolivar would have to apologize to his horse later though. Looking down Bolivar saw that familiar face that instantly held all the answers for the squire. Aden's 'love of his life.' Madelyn. The spindly woman introduced herself as Aden's wife and was now looking at Bolivar mildly amused by his reaction.
"Off somewhere?"
Nodding slightly Bolivar eyes went to the woman to the pair walking in tandem wondering what he had gotten himself into.
"Something like that."
"Looks like your heading off to the warehouses. Be better if you just went around the other way. Dock's no place for a horse and a new rider."
Nodding dully Madelyn raised her eyebrow at the squire.
"Somethin the matter? Conspiring something good?"
Shaking his head furiously Aden's wife merely chuckled slightly at the bashful squire before letting him on his way.
"Seen Aden recently? I swear I haven't seen him all day up and down these docks."
"Erm. I did. Last time I saw him he was telling someone about the love of his life."
Smirking slightly embarassed Madelyn shifted side to side at the thought before looking back at Bolivar.
"Did he now? Still talking me up after all these seasons. I married a good one I did. Anyways! Don't let me keep you squire knight. Best be on your way."
